oh_snap: More contrast is needed concerning the object to background. You could also add some fiery effects to it.

zoom out a bit, its too near and i cant tell what it is

zoom out? it's as zoomed out as possible. XD it's meant to be like that. yeah, i guess the lines too thick... i'll try to make it thinner. but somehow i get the feeling it'll mess up the colors a bit.

after looking at the icon in a while I finnaly see what it is.
First I thought it was an egyptic drawing or something like that...

and the shading is a bitt messy around the blade and the handle area..

Seems everything in the icon is mixed up, i suggest showing the Scythe a bit more.

Make more colors! Don't just go orange and black. E.g the rod brown, the blade gray, and the glow white

Hmm, well to start off either make the Blade Object another color so it doesn't blend into the background or just take the background out itself and then start from there.
