That should help you a lot. I don't get the green stuff, and I think you should have left that out. It looks more like an infected Petri dish right now. But also, water orb is not really that creative, since we have a bunch of those icons already, so you should maybe try to make some more creative orb.

Sorry if I don't seem to be nice, but the Mana Shield icon fits better as a water orb. Also, it is too big. Either make the background black or make that thing smaller. Define the icon from the background, because as of now there is little difference between the orb and the background.



EDIT: Now what you did looks more like plain water with seaweeds. It should be more solid.

Some things to point out.

-Please don't use white backgrounds, use black.
-This is no orb, yet a oval, make it more rounded.
-To me, inside the orb looks more like blue snakes instead of "ocean"
