Zombie.: With all honesty, it seems to be a rather weird concept by itself. The axe is pretty much out of focus and the spell effect appears to be rather messed up taking the placement of the effect's core into account. First of all, fix the point where the handle and the head meet. Add some sort of cloth or an extended wood part there, so the handle is not all lost into the background. Afterwards, try to do something with the shading. The lightning seems to be in place, but the shading is utterly missing from the metal parts. About the spark, either remove it or make it more visible with emphasising its presence by a different color scheme than the backgrounds, preferably a darker pink.

meh... something is odd about this icon :s can't decide what however...

Couldn't really see it was an axe before I saw the name. thought it was some kind of blade? Maybe you should make the handle a little easier to see? And maybe do something about the background.

the bg blends with the handle because they both look really scratchy
and put the sharp edge only on the flat side. its really confusing, which side you are meant to strike with
