The only thing I see lacking in here, is lack of sharp highlights.
Metalic objects tend to be quite shiny, and this effect is achieved by putting a lot of contrast.
Try to find some reference images of wrenches on Google, to get an idea how the polished shine should look like.

You added a light source, which is good.
However, you kept the original set of shadows, and added a sparkly background.
There's a common mistake that even experienced artists do with backgrounds: brighter it is, more focus it takes away from the object.
Unless you use dramatic shading (sharp and high contrasts), then it's the opposite (brighter = more focus). And the first type of background you used, the retro stripes, is one of the most effective ways of bringing the focus up.

I can't really put my mind on what's wrong with the wrench, but it does look a little... Off. Like it's not symetrical. Not sure, thought, so don't hold my word.
