Shape needs defined more, handle seems too dark and looks like brand off a tree. Make it seem sturdy when handling a heavy blade on top. The circle part in the middle needs work and better shaping. Check this icon out for ideas.

A lot better update, only thing is left is both axe blades on each side need to seem like they are sharp, add some more white to the edges of the blades to make them look sharp.

Better, but it still looks very flimsy and not a strong looking at, give it character. Add some unique touches too it, maybe a small shine somewhere like in this icon. The white part you added to make it look sharper is really small I would increase it to make it look deadly. check this one out for an idea on that. ONE, TWO It also would look better if you increased the size of the whole axe itself, it seems small in the 64x64, use some of the unused space up on the top right, like this for example.
