Boot Camp v1.1

Welcome to Chau Sara, Lieutenant. General Duke has instituted a brief field training exercise for all new Alpha Squadron commanders. The training grounds are prepared and the exercise may initiate at your convenience.

Wow... a complete starcraft mod... you've taken care of sounds, graphics, UI, recourses and even the music.
It looks really good, but I've got some remarks:
  • You can lower thet quality of the music to save map space
  • I hope this map is the start of what's supposed to be a complete campaign.
  • There's a little leak, not that it really matters, though...

Thanks for the feedback ap0calypse, the main aim of this map was hi-res so i went all out of quality. and where is the leak so i can look into fixing it if it needs to be fixed.

I highly recommend this for classic StarCraft fans.

The UI, Sounds, everything is 90% perfect.

Only flaws;

Major:
...You may of skipped a bit of the intro to the boot camp... otherwise

The Command Center, when preforming liftoff, the SCV doing Vespene Gas was able to still give vespene to the floating CC.
The Command Center when animating for liftoff.. just... appears in the air and just ends up on the ground... if you could do something about that, maybe like rotating while accending/descending while doing the lift... it'd look MUCH better.

Moderate:
In the Button layout, the 2nd row closest to the Right down one has a smal window with nothing on it appear...

Minor:
In StarCraft, you were blue, not gray, and on a space station.. :X

I can't think of anything else.

Very good job!

Yes this is one thing i have been trying to fix ever since i started this campaign map. I did have a trigger system which animated the slow liftoff of the CC but with the new patch i had to remove the system to allow my maps to work with the new patch. The main problem with what i have now it im using the uproot ability to create the Liftoff effect but this doesnt change a unit from being targeted as a ground to air. As far as i know theres no coding i can put in to make this happen but maybe 1 day ill figure it out.

These small windows are the abilities for the armor/damage system which work exactly like the original starcraft armor/damage system. I tried to remove all text from the abilities tooltip but it still shows a box:(.

This mission is from the original Demo version of Starcraft. I modelled the whole mission of this initial tutorial mission along with 3 other missions from the demo version ill soon try to recreate.

Thank you again for all the feedback. I really appreicate it i do. If there is anything else please let me know so i can clarify or fix in new updates of the map.

Oh, I thought you weren't anymore into this. It's much better than the last one we were testing some year ago. But I really hope you won't still work solely on this map (boot camp) xd

Hey Mechanical Man, long time no see. Yeah i did take a break from the project for a while, but with the recent set of patches from blizzard my maps basically became useless and i didn't want all that work, effort and time spent gone to waste. I am planning to update and fix all the multiplayer maps next and hopefully continue making more campaign maps.

Yes im working on new multiplayer maps now, but im upgrading them with as much new material as possible. It will take some time unfortunately, so i don't know how long it will take before just one map is finish but ill do my best to get them out asap.

You've just made one of my gg-arena buds extremely happy -night wolveX-, thanks! - He's a huge fan of Starcraft and his brother is well known in SC-circles. Although he says "Nothing can beat the real thing" I slap him over the head and say : "Is Starcraft 3D tossboy?!"...he then humbly apologizes and tells me it's one of the best maps he's ever played. Rating 5/5 (almost perfect) +Rep

Anything new?

Unfortunately not yet. I've been working heaps on the multiplayer maps atm as i want to at least get one new map out before i do anything. My main focus has been on icon making an as im going for a complete conversion of all icons to new SC II style it will enhance the maps look during game play. I also done some work on the trigger system as well with the help of some great trigger specialists here but i've put it on hold a for little bit but will come back once I've done some more art tweaking and unit stats changing.

Thank you Kl3sk for the support. I did go as far as i could with this map to make it flawless but its not 100% but its the closest thing i could make to Starcraft.

Would you please test this (to see whether it not only works for me, but for everyone)?

I have sent a message to the original author stating this small update (I don't take any credit for it though, just don't want to ruin your fun).
