Battle Tanks is a very popular AoS-style map created by Bob666 aka N-a-z-g-u-l, then continued by Exodus, Paladon and Velocity2k.

Battle Tanks (Warcraft 3 custom map) is a 5 vs 5 MOBA with two forces and the goal to destroy the opponent’s headquarter. Every player chooses a tank in the beginning. During the progress of the game, you switch to different, more expensive tanks with more hitpoints and more powerful abilities. In Battle Tanks your tank doesn’t have an ordinary attack, but instead you buy weapons from several shops. Each weapon has a custom range, damage and cooldown. Your weapons fire permanently, even while walking or channeling abilities. They attack random targets in range. By positioning your tank you can control what your weapons attack to some extent. Tanks can further buy support items which increase your hitpoints, your movement speed or give you new active abilities. You can combine some of them to create more powerful items.

- BUGFIX: Long-Range weapons dont stop attacking after death
- Sometimes, after the death of a tank, his long-range weapons (e.g. Bombarding or Energy Torpedo) didn't stop attacking
- This was the case for all long-range weapons (1300 range), Architect Custom Weapon + Tank Cannon and Goliath Tank Cannon
- Weapons are disabled properly upon death now

- BUGFIX: Conquering CP bug
- A team starts to conquer a CP and the CP-timer is running
- A player from the opposite team teleports to the CP and dies
- The CP-timer doesnt continue for a few seconds (is paused)
- The player (that died) long-range weapons keep shooting (see above)
- Walking in and out on the CP area fixed the problem
- This bug was caused by Healing items such as repair kit and is fixed now (HealOverTime function)

- BUGFIX: Architect-Portal teleports units that targeted the portal but canceled the order
- Scenario:
1. Rightclick a portal while the unit is still far away
2. The units starts walking towards the portal
3. You want to cancel the teleport and rightclick next to the portal or somewhere behind the portal

- This means: after holding all CPs for 5 minutes, the force-creeps gain 60% bonus-HP, and after 10 minutes they gain 90% and so on
- If the team loses a CP, the creep-buff gets removed
- While the team does not hold all CPs, they lose 1 buff (aka 30%) every 5 min until they get all CPs back
- With the command -tech you can check your current Control-Point-Holder bonus
- You can recognize the buffed creeps by their size - they are slightly bigger

Well, you got this uploaded on hive now Paladon.


Also you surprise many people when they do know you got the honour to continue The original Battle Tanks map which was in german in most early versions, it got even more popular when it was converted into english.



Also Paladon is well known here so this gets more attention.

about the tanks

Recently I started playing BT, loved it right away, but now I have a question regarding creep leveling up. As I understand every once in a while creeps gain a lvl in attack and armor and the lvl number is visible if you click on one of them. So my question is: what's the point of spending money on upgrading creeps attack or armor when it's not visible in anyway and they are always the same lvl as the opposing creeps? Am I right or am I missing something?

Also if you're on the team with less CP's, you teams creep upgrades is less and the enemy teams upgrades increase in a faster rate.


If you experienced that your upgrades didn't pay off so much, it could be that enemy team also upgrades, or that you have less CP's than the enemy team and their team upgrades faster.

That answers my question. I was upgrading my creeps and I asked my opponents if they were doing it too and they said no. I was confused that our creeps were the same lvl even dough I'm spending money to upgrade them and they don't. The thing is I was loosing and they had all the CP's and I didn't know creeps upgrade faster for the side which controls most CP's. Thanks!

Its pretty damn easy to play this... and I don't find it interesting anymore
I mean, most of my battles were vs absolutely newbs or peoples that only thought they can play it, and when you own them in 15 mins, they just quit...

I've founded some superior players @ Garena, but they are not worth anymore...
So far now, I can still give it a 4/5 just because I used to love this map.

And I hope with the new guys that will work on it, to make it more interesting, with alot of more features.

By the way, I can suggest many things which will be good for this map, just give me a PM.

Hi there Paladon

Playing the latest version recently, I found another bug: The Lightning Tank's "Lightning Storm" spell does not work in 50% of the time.
In addition, the bombardment spell of the Helicopter is still based on swarm rockets, stunning opponents and causing move actions while the projectiles are flying to disable the spell's effects:hohum:

Well, I can't play the map either. It won't host in LAN, and the screen for singleplayer shows up as the on for the previous map, i.e. Missile Wars.

I am bored of writing this for the fourth time but game does work the game defults back to the map selection bit and does not play at all.

1 thing plz...i love your map but...i have seen too many noobs who buy 3+ swarm rockets and kill everyone...they ruin the game totaly....can you make swarm rockets and other unique?

they are too strong they have 3+ swarms on start + gold hull and they kill every thing in their way

Currently, there are no plans of publishing the map code, since we do not plan to give the WC3 version up as soon as we managed SC2.

But all these statements are just based on what the current situation gives.

I got another suggestion. A "Tome of Retraining" would be nice, as sometimes people missclick and skill the wrong skills.

But at the begging of the map people maybe doesn't have enough money to rebuy the tank. So you could set the cost of the tome to X*50 gold and X is the lvl of the tank.

Ok i see you don't want to change it :D
But maybe you could change the kill system and use the system from Dota.
Because a lot of people are flaming in the game cause of killsteal and so on.
But when you get a percentage of the gold when you did X damage to the hero and supported someone, people wouldn't cry so much.

(Just another suggestion, but i think this would be great)
