Battle of Rois 1.5

Between 1799- 1815 the Napoleonic Wars were fought in Europe. Napoleon had enemies everywhere; Britain, Prussia, Russia, Austria, the Ottomans, and plenty more. England though fought many hard and bloody battles on the sea and on land. In Northern France, England made a huge military push to Paris; but as they did, a French Battalion met them by the village of Rois. The battle is long and brutal, and you get to decide the victor. Play as France or England in skirmishes to claim victory.

Thanks to Xonok for his Unit Selection system, I almost gave up on it. :)



1.1- Dragoons now do more damage, Zoom function for the camera has been added, Added another column that tells you how many VPs you need to win.
1.2- The Reveal timer now works, some unit and upgrade balances, Tips have been added to show throughout the game.
1.3- Added (Crappy) AI (I'll still work on them *1.5), don't trust them; fixed grammar issues, added friendly peasants in the village, Dragoons deal a bit more damage, added more tips and fixed a tip grammar issue, added more info. and a guide to the AI, the kill counter now crosses over to the next round, fixed the reveal timer not stopping and then continuing onto the next round, fixed the reveal timer, when a player leaves the game, you should gain control of their team, changed the hotkey for the Star Fort.
1.4- AI now gets upgrades when difficulty is increased making them more difficult, and added Selection System to lead units for Officers and Colour Bearers.
1.5- Did an actual leak fix since the World Editor actually wanted to be nice!, reworked the AI so they are more powerful and all move, fixed the timers, changed cost of Skirmishers to 2 gold instead of 3, added more French Villagers, trees don't regrow after battles (May be interesting), added 1 more battle music, Sappers can now attack, battle can now be only seen by your troops (Except the spawn area at all times to see where allies move generally and for recruitment), when you run out of troops your army is announced dead and then the whole map is revealed, the corpses now disappear faster to reduce lag, many other small fixes to balancing and such that I forgot. Please enjoy this update!



The history is not completely accurate so please don't be bashful. Also the Dragoons are known to be used as wielding Rifles and Swords only, that's why there are Heavy and Normal Dragoons.
Two known bugs: First, Line Infantry can disappear when using Bayonets against other Bayonet Infantry so please try to avoid it, I can't seem to fix it; second, the Victory Points scoreboard will disappear at times but should reappear the next round.
Any suggestions? Please tell me!

Q: How do I get Gold?
A: The red player chooses how much at the beginning of a round.

Q: How do I win?
A: Earn the # of VPs the red player picks at the beginning, you earn them by winning Battle Phases.

Q: Why do I have mana?
A: It's the kills the unit has, for fun mostly.

Q: How do I add AI?
A: The information is in the Info. (Quest) tab in game. The Red player has to type the difficulty level.

Q: Why am I losing!
A: First, you suck. Second, get upgrades. Third, communicate.

Q: Are there more game-modes?
A: Kinda, you can do co-op things against AI and mess around with their difficulties and such or duel others on a one-on-one.

Q: Is the Napoleonic time period the best?
A: Yes is it my fellow man. Woman. Apache Attack Helicopter. Any other gender you identify with.

No leaks were found by pjasshelper this time around. Since Void isn't around, I am going to approve this now. You may still fix those other minor issues (bad attached buff, long creation times and so on).

To be honest, I was quite disappointed when I started this map, as it didn't seem to work properly. :/

You can only buy one unit.
The "Build" order while you are just actually swtiching between to sets of avalable upgrades.
You should reduce the time of the recruitment phase with a lot. That much dead time was just irritating. I waited for 2 full minutes I think, and all I had to do in taht time was creating one unit.
My enemy just randomly disappeared while I was attacking him, then I had to wait like 9 minutes for a "revival", which we didn't wait for.

Who was the host? They are suppose to choose how much money you get to purchase everything you need. That's why most of this seemed to happen...

Oh, that is strange.
I'm not sure if I or the other guy was, however, I wasn't shown an option to set the amount of gold or anything, neither did the other guy, or he would have done it.

Sorry about this. I'll check it out again then! :)
But, if a message telling you about those settings doesn't exist, I think you should add it.

The quest-log was organized and quite helpful.

Buff aura is positioned overhead of Skirmisher, it should be attached on origin not above the head. You know the blue aura that appears when unit is buffed by someone else.

Color Bearer is heavily burdened by that flag. How is it even staying completely still even when moving. Just a minor aesthetic detail.

Why do you need to upgrade to Star Fort to switch between command card buttons? Just use another hidden building and add an ability that selects the hidden unit with all those upgrades.

There was no custom selection system, it is quite difficult to play such maps with a limited selection of 12. This is not required but could truly improve game play.

In order for this map to be approved you need to make the required changes. I have underlined them for you.

So only one thing is truly problematic, okay! That's very helpful. I'll get to working on the leaks as soon as I can. Oh, I need to work on Santa map don't I... I'll so that soon too.
I'll fix the origin point.
The Colour Bearer is literally the beat I could have done. For some odd reason the attachment only worked the way it does now. Idk if you really want that changed.
I don't really see too much of a problem with the Star fort so to save myself from insanity at the moment, I'm not gonna worry about it.
Also can you explain the "selection system"? Please? I don't understand what you're referring to.

It's not required but it can improve the game play immensely. Basically a trigger system which reworks and changes the way units are selected, like making units into squads or groups per one train. A unit is trained, create four other members of the same unit and add them to a group. If a unit is selected that belongs to a group, select entire group. Anyway, it's just a concept of the system. You can find more help in World Editor Help or Triggers & Scripts forum. :)

Have you fixed the things A Void pointed out? :)
I wish... So with the leaks I tried to turn off the triggers, but that wasn't sufficient. So next I tried to fix them the 'right way' so I looked up a tutorial and did it. When I saved the map, it wouldn't let me. Then A Void suggested he could fix them since I'm apparently very unique when it comes to leaks (which I totally agree on) and I said yes. Other things... I got a group control system, everything else is impossible to fix for some reason. For example the Skirmisher buff ring is stuck where it is and I couldn't move it at all so... Yea that's about it. How's it going Rufus?

Go ahead, this might take awhile. Is it the Warden maps? Those were fun (well the first one I played until I couldn't find time to play them).
