Battle For Outland v2.0a

What would happen after W3TFT if the WoW lore was not added? Who gives a shit? But anyway, here is what probably will happen. This map is an altered melee map based on the Deadlands map by Blizzard Entertainment. It features 4 races and 1 newly added race battle each other for control over Outland. Special thanks to MogulKhan, who helped me heaps by supplying me with ideas, complaints and resources. Have fun!

Blood Elves[Humans]-Magically adept and balanced, though no real firepower
Fel Orcs[Orcs]-Excellent tankers but few tactics and quite costly
Naga[Undead]-Powerful units but very unbalanced techtree and bad support
Draenei[Night Elf]-Stealthy and very tactical, but lacking in firepower
Legion[Custom]-Very aggressive, but food is scarce in the start

My main thing about this is map are on the Draenei Faction:
1) It has like 3 buildings with food increasement, this really sort of makes no sense in my mind.
2)Only seen the Draenei A.I create Vindicators, Assassin units, and the Demolishers, nothing else, sort of went bland after awhile.

Other then that I think you should edit the naga faction and Draenei faction to where they dont copy the undead and night elf gold harvesting style, could bring up a Temple of the Dammned custom model for the Temple itself, and finally I am confuzed on the whole concept of the Caravan being the main base of the Draenei, I know there isnt a lot of Draenei building models but the making of that Main Building sort of confused me a bit.

Overrall on my part of the rating Im giving a 4.0/5.0, though I havent found any bugs what so ever except for a few thing concering the food increasement wise on the Draenei Buildings.
 
The reason why I'm leaving the Naga and Draenei resource-gathering methods unchanged is because I don't know how to change them! But don't worry, as soon as I figure out how to make custom AI, I'll fix it. If anyone can or knows someone that can teach me how to make AI, PM me please.

Also, I made the caravan because, as mentioned above, I do not know how to edit or create AIs. The food shit is because I thought the Draenei were a little un-unique (their strategies and buildings were similar to the humans). But thanks for the comments. tyranid, + rep.

There is a pack of draenei buildings but it only has the house, main building(with the 2nd stage and 3rd stage upgrades), and i belieave the barracks but I dont remember where this pack is at. Out of the four factions I fine cool to play as are the Draenei, since I havent seen people make a Draenei faction for alternate maps and if there are maps with them as a faction i'd love to take a look at those maps, excluding the Draenei and Naga friends map which is a bit tad odd using the Draenei in that kind of Faction fashion.

One strategy ive come up with on the Draenei side is old fashion style hit-and-run tatics, throwing a squad (around maybe 3-5) Assassins in for a guerilla run then pulling them back, then bringing another squad of Assassins in from behind and just toy with the A.I or Player :xxd:
 
Dude, it's a melee map with some modifications to the races (making an altered melee). How would you like me to elaborate on how to play melee maps? I'm pretty sure everyone knows how to build, repair and attack etc. As for the preview, yeah I agree, but I don't know how to make it transparent.

Also, out of curiosity, what strategies do the Night Elves use?

I think this map is great.But some things are bad.Can u add night elf race 2 (just with new skins and models).Because Maiev was in Outland 2 when she was haunting for Illidan.
I dont like models from Blood Elf cavilary and archer they have very bad eyes in they portrait.And hero archer on horse is very bad 2.Dont like your bat(very bad),ogres in Fel Orc race is bad 2.Naga have bad Hero model Tidebaron(not "nagish").I dont like in Drenei race that there is 2 races of Dreneis.Pls delete and change some models of forsaken dreneis with "real" dreneis.Ellek model is bad 2.Phoenix is 2 strong man(really storn!!!!!!),change him with some new model weaker.and u need 2 change some icons olike breth of fire from Red Dragon.Thats all and GJ.PLs change this things.=)
 
First things first. Whats with the '2's? I mean, is it that hard to type 't' and then double 'o'?

About the races, this map was made to create new races, not expand old races. Also, remember Maiev and her forces were either killed or captured. As for the Ogres and two Draenei types, the Fel Orcs and Naga were running out of units, so I added them. Also, there are both Ogres, Elekks and Unbroken (not Forgotten) Draenei in Outland/Draenor. And oh, the Phoenix, he was made strong to balance the Blood Elf race. I mean Orcs have Dragons, Wyrm Riders, Ogre and Ogre Magi, Naga have Myrmidon, Royal Guards, Hydragons, Turtles, and Draenei have Elekks, Elekk Riders, Nether Dragons, Salamanders.

Concerning visuals, I have changed the Breath of Fire icon, and the Bat and Blood Elf models I did not make. If you think they are bad tell the authors. The Tidebaron is not meant to look naga-ish, but rather a more deadly looking Naga General.

However I will add a 5th race-the Legion-which is made of demons in version 1.7a, and will be totally completed in v1.9a.

U have others web pages for skins and models!But pls dont mix 2 class of Draenei!U can change models of Bat and Blood Elfs in other models and skins.Or u cand delete bat and add Fel Orc BLack Dragon RIder from General Frank(great model).And u can change ogres with some models of General Frank like Fel Orc General or fel Orc Rampager.I ll dl now new map and pls upload fast your new map with deamons.But where was deamons in Outland?Maybe Mannaroth Varimathars.Kil jaden with fel gurad, succubus or Doom Bringer? 2=too =P

Woah! That's alot of models! But thanks for the site. I'll definitely replace old models with those ones! But the map is altered melee and is already nearly 5mb. I'm not sure about the Fel Orcs though. Most models are heroes and warriors. I need units and a mage to replace the Ogre Warrior and Ogre Magi. Also, the Dragon Rider would be too fucking strong! The races have to be balanced, that is why I added the incredibly weak and screeching Fel Bat. Half the Fel Orc units' hp are above 700. As I said before, the Ogres are from Outland, and so are still there. I will replace the Horseback Archer with an archmage. Thx for the suggestions, +rep.

I didnt tell if model look stonger 2 have stronger attack.I just tell that i really hate bat model 1 of the worst model ever!And u ll delete forsaken draenais and just kepp "high draeneis?

Again a good version and i agree with Mogul on the FelBat, having like 15 of those things standing still is like watching my cat hit the glass window constnaly :con:.

I love the main Draenei tier structure in this one a lot, and at last i finally see the A.I do something for once and combine the Vindicators and Elekk's together :mwahaha:.

Most i up it 4.9/5.0, the maps gotten better and i enjoy using the Draenei since im with a mod team making a mod called "The Fall of Draenor" which has the Draenei in it as a full faction along with the Arakkoa :). Playing as them is sort of giving me a feel of how the Draenei fight so its a nice chance to play them before the Mod Team gets the factions made XD
 
Yeah, I overloaded it with updates. About the Fel Bat if you know any other unit to replace it (I'm sure there is a Spore Bat, but I don't know any models) contact me. The Bats are purposely weak to balance the Fel Orcs. But even getting four or five with screech will disrupt the enemy ranks completely and utterly. Even though they have no tails, they're my favourite units in the game.

Soon, I'll have ANOTHER update ready, which will get rid of the Blood Rider hero and replace her with the original Archmage. Also, very very soon, the Legion will be playable. I will start in v1.6, get it close to playable in v1.7 and finish it in v1.9a.

edit: Now because of the AI I made I think the Draenei are too strong. Can someone test it for me?

I have a friends birthday now.Later I ll try 2 found Draenei models and skins for u and for that ugly bat.Maybe u can ask Alagremm for some skins and models or web page?He have now big project Fall of Draneor with newa races including Draeneis(his favourite race).And can u make this picture of your map 2 have all 4-5 races?

I like this map but its a bit small and all of the bases are very, very close ot eahchother. maybe make the map a bit bigger with the bases farhher apart? other then that i thought ths map was great.
 
Mogul, thanks for the help. I'll PM Alagremm to ask for some more models. But I don't think he will share since he is busy with his own mod and he isn't the Fall of Draenor's modeller. About the map preview, I tried fitting all 4 races, but it just won't fit, let alone five. You can have a go trying to fit it in. Just ask for a picture.

@Hunter9G; As I mentioned in the map description, this map is based on the Deadlands map by Blizzard Entertainment. I would have chosen a bigger map but this is the largest map with an Outland tileset, however, I can make one on a bigger map, though it would not be in Outland (I'm a shit terrainer).

Its an extremely simple mod, every unit I could easily recognize which was its normal game counterpart. It feels like rather than making 4 newly balanced races you took units from each basic race (and a few neutral heroes) and just mixed them up. Also, there are far more appropriate models and a greater number of models than you used in some cases. Especially some of the heroes, which on Naga and Orc seem to be extremely oversized.

2/5, with some work making the races more unique this could be a great map.

I saw your daemons race.Honestly i dont like them at all.Man i ll give u advice like friend 2 friend.Pls add new models or skins,but u only mix some of undead units and Burning Leagion units.Like BloodStorm says with some work making the races more unique this could be a great map!Listen this and use buildings,skins and models that i gives u.4 links:1.General Franks fel orcs and blood elves(and other c00L model and skins),2. Draeneis buildings and models,3. Blood Elven models and 4. blood elven buildings.Listen us and this ll be best meele map ever! GL with this fun and i ll help u and give advices.=)
 
Alright you dickhead, I love you! The models are bloody awesome! Man fucking +reputation by tenfolds! Oh yeah, BloodStorm, I know the races are really similar (especially Blood Elves and Fel Orcs) and that's because Blizzard has already made 4 great race archetypes which I just virtually copied because I was too lazy to create a new race archetype. If you have any ideas to unique-ify the races, please contact me. About the demon race, I know it is not playable and I did write it wasn't playable in the change log. In v1.7a, you can play it, though I would advise not to play it, as it is only a quarter finished. Also, tell me why do you not like them--Visuals or techtree? No matter, in v1.8a it will be a whole lot better and the Draenei will only be 'real Draenei'.

Well, okay. The gameplay is more important than the models. I really don't think I can import any more models without causing serious lag. I've finished v1.7a and started 1.8, which is already over 5mb. I tried optimizing it but it only saves about 100kb! Oh, and, Blood Elves are supposed to be like humans, even Blizzard made it like that in campaigns, so are Fel Orcs because, orcs are the same as Fel Orcs (or were the same). I don't think I can unique-ify the races any more. The Draenei and Naga races are heavily changed though.
 
Not yet, I'll add them in v1.8a. You're finally online! I'm releasing v1.7a now, but let me warn you-right now it is really crap-especially the demon race, and to top it off, there is no victory/defeat conditions (don't worry, I'm working on it). Please don't complain too much I know it is not that good. In v1.8a I'll change Draenei models, and fix the victory/defeat trigger (strangely, using integers). My internet is real slow so it will be a long time for the update to finish...

When someone makes a new faction for a alt. Map and they say its unfinished and about making a fuss about the unfished faction, i find playing a handicapped faction thats unfinished being a great one to play as to see how the faction is at the moment :thumbs_up:

ya i got to agree with you on the upgrades not working and the units having no abilitys :/.

though it was fun having 'whosyourdaddy' on just to get all buildings up XP and look through them all lol

Best Altered Melee Map ever u inspired me and tnx for letting this map unprotected because i was inspired oh how time u spent to modify all races?????????? man only 1 suggestion : maybe u can create a ingame race selector because most players how dl it ingame wont know the races ( ex: humans = blood elv ) i dont know ...

Draeneis are good now.=) But every time i join the game some red daemon like kiljaden (lychantrope in dota) is my.And legaion not bad but I dont like 2 chimera and sludge(dont know in game name) when she morph into gargoyle(every time when she stand turn into stone from xD) and golem is shit(night elf golem xD and like gargoyle he tunr into house when he stop).Didnt check others.

The 1st site's not even in English! I fixed the Demonlord thing (I left it there by accident when I was testing my map!) :] The Chimeara was the only flying thing I could think of, same as the Enigma. I thought there must be some whacky creatures in the Twisting Nether. I fixed the Enigma morphing (changed models) and fixed loads of upgrades. Thx ppl.
