Story


Back before Arthas even defended Strahnbrad, when he was still young, he loved the heat of battle and slaying Orcs. It made him feel powerful and tough. Arthas soon grew a passion for combat and begged King Terenas to allow him to explore Lordaeron. Soon after, Arthas was sent out only with a single peasant. A week has passed, and nothing interesting had happened yet. Just then, they entered a cave. As they were passing through, Arthas felt the ground trembling and shaking, and alerted his peasant to run out as fast as he can. Soon after, they found themselves outside, in a new unknown land.

Improve description; tell us how to play, what to do, anything special, credits, screenshots.

Also since this is your practice map, this shouldn't be here unless its completed or is in beta state. If you want to learn how to import custom models and want to learn world editor basics I suggest you look around the map making forums as they will help you alot, with basics and advanced GUI and Jass. I will not rate since its your first map, but take in what I just told you for your future maps as they will impact the audience alot.

I've downloaded and opened the map, heres what I thought about the terrain:
-You spammed alot of doodads
-Some parts like the bottom right is really plain
If you want to know how to be a good terrainer, remember this; never use blizzard cliffs as they are ugly, unless you have to it'll be good if you cover it up with doodads. Use the maps deformation tool to change the terrain to your liking, you can make hills that look better than using blizzard cliffs.

Actually, if you want a nice looking terrain don't use blizzard cliffs, if you like good gameplay and play with line of sight WITHOUT LoS blockers everywhere, use blizzard cliffs ^^either it looks good but has less gameplay, or it looks simple and has better gameplay.

Storylines bit short, maybe expand his journey and even turn it into a campaign? I didn't like the camera of the cinematics, you might want to learn more about making cinematics for short scenes in your map in the forums. You might want to use custom skins for the units or even change the model of Arthas since before he became a paladin and protected the Human Alliance, he could even be just wearing some plain old armor or something since its about his childhood. The creeps around the maps is pretty boring, maybe you should custom make some creeps without changing the models to make the game more interesting.

Keep trying, as you take in feedback you'll fix your mistakes. This can possibly turn into a campaign if your dedicated to working for it.

I added simple fog.... I don't know how to add sky...
Fog - I just checked the box and pressed OK. That's it.. No editing on anything.

@light bolt30 - You're giving me such great ideas! And ways to improve. Anyway, Chap 2 is about 15% done.

I think if you want to add a sky effect go to:
Scenerio > Map Preferences > Sky Display
I'm not 100% sure but try :D

Arthas Journey 1 was an rpg style like map by Indomitable1319 that involves Arthas journey before the wc3 sequences.

To begin with, the destructible of the map surely gives me a good laugh. I mean, at the cinematic; Arthas say "The rocks behind us have crashed! We have no choice but to move on." and yet the rock chunk could be destroy.

Just like part 2, this map contain bug as well. 1 of the bug was the quest indicate the sasquatch was slain even though I have not done it yet.

You also add soo much unnecessary destructible such as barricade, this gives player the edge to accomplish the game such as destroying the orc base without any difficulty at all.

I would not going to elaborate much further about this map quality, this map quality was nowhere near approval as it still have several couple bug that was unacceptable and an balance issues to be take care off.

However, this map quality could be decent, or at least close to it if the author itself improve the quality of his work.

As for now, this map should be rejected until the author itself fix it. Once you have improve the quality of the map, click at the update button to upload the update version of it instead of delete and re-upload it. Any rejected sources would be set back to pending once an update have been done.

I suggest you to read more tutorial about triggering, the triggering for now was quite poor.

The sasquatch part... WTF? It doesn't happen to me.
I fixed the Orc part.
