Arctic Blizzard v1.0

The map is rather simple. You own a penguin, and have to attack balls on the map to move them. If the ball hit's an enemy(or you!), he get's damaged. Score the most points to win the game.

Yet, the game features 6 modes. The host can choose which from them he wants wo play at the beginning of the game.

-Dash:
=> Each players get's a dash ability, which allows the penguin to "dash" a 2000 distance. Whenever he hits a wall or another obstacle which blocks his way, his movespeed gets doubled. (So this is more a funmode than a serious one)

-Last Man Standing:
=> When you die, you lost. That's all; I think the mode is pretty much known to the most here. The host can choose to whether make a remake or not.

-Spellmode:
=> You can choose 2 spells of currently 8 existing ones (11 are planned, to complete 1 spellbook from where you choose the spells)

-Kill Limit:
=> You can choose a limit from 3-25 kills, whenever a player reaches that limit, he has won.

-Runes;
=> A random rune will spawn at a random point in the Arena every 25-55 seconds. Currently, there are 6 runes implemented.

-Slide:
=> Makes you permanently slide in the direction you're looking to, thus making it more different ;)

Hmm the map description sound funny [wink]
reminds me of Speed-Ball, but here is the terrain altered and you controll penguins instead of footmen :p

The Map is fun I can say now. I played 2 rounds and was positively but also negatively suprised:
(+) Map is fun in multiplayer (for 2-6 player)
(+) The Map has differnet Game Modes to customize the game type.
(+) The Map loads very fast.
(+) Includes a simple but efficent spell chose trigger.
(+) There is a short instruction in the loading screen. :p
(/) The Terrain isn't bad, but you also could not call it good.
(/) I haven't understood the damage calculation if the ball is moving it damage the same amount, it doesn't matter if it was fast or slow. Just when it was super fast it kills instant.
(-) The Dash spell is very inbalanced. Every time you dash against a wall you dash 3 times faster and longer, so that you push the balls as hard that you get instant a triple kill.
(-) Also the Magnet Skill isn't balanced. You can 'pull' balls and dash them with the bug skill, so it isn't fun for the others, when they die all the time.
(-) The Fireball Skill! It's so inbalanced that you can win with one shot! if you kill limit is set to 5/last man standing and you shot a ball with a Fireball it will bounce through the whole arena and you kill all the other player with one ball!

thx for you review. And I really have to agree concerning your points.
The damagecalculation system is, since the new map, Speed * 16. The starting speed is 35, when the ball moves it gets reduced by 0.1666 every 0.0175 seconds. (So if you get hit by a ball just when it started, it would deal 560 damage, thus killing you instantly) And if it hit's you, it's movement speed is reduced by 50%.

Regarding the dash mode, it's just a funmode. Maybe I should've mentioned that. Anyway, I changed it so you lose 25% speed when bouncing against a ball. (And the speed is now nearly the same as when you would attack a ball)
The "Magnet Skill" (actually called Suck because I didn't knew another name because I'm uncreative as hell :p) is only imbalanced with Dash. Anyway, I increased the cooldown from 9 to 17 for now.
Fire, yeah. I don't know what happened there. The Ball moves insanely fast, even if it shouldn't :/. But that's why it has a high Cooldown of 90(since now)

Also, check out the new version. It has not the mentioned balance improvements, it also features 2 new modes and alot of performance optimizes.

EDIT: Right. Give it a description. The game itself is fun and doesn't get boring. The terrain suits the game perfectly. The remake option is really useful also, you don't have to host again. Well, it's pretty good overall.

hmm the new version is better because the cooldown and speed balances and the 2 new modes :D
Now I can give you 3,5... okay we say 4...
After playing this version there were no leavers, all had much fun :wink:
keep it up this map will grow even better if you give more effort :grin:

Im glad you liked it, but the version still has some bugs I recently found (Suck and the Time Hole rune won't work when they're at the corner of the Arena; but I don't want to upload a new version each day, so I'll just fix them in the next version..)

I had planned some items; but firstly it would make it more complicated, thus loosing the fun a minigame brings and there aren't many things you could do as items.
I'd love to implement some new things, but I'm currently out of ideas ;_; if anyone has some suggestion, just PM me or post it here.
