This is my 4th cattail and my 10th plant ward, being tired of the same plant styles over and over as my cattail and flowers began to become, I decided on a new theme of cattail. when I saw the UV wrap of the white coral, and how good it looked on the Cattail, I began an ''Unhealthy'' ''Dead'' or ''Dying'' theme of cattail inspired by World of Warcrafts ''Eastern Plaguelands''. the problem was without side bushes It looked plain and ugly, and without a good texture to use I eventually abandoned it, as you may see way back in my other screen shots as it is quite old. So when I accidentally saw the Northrend tree I realized that was the bush texture I had been looking for. The problem was creating a particle texture to work with it very well. sadly, none looked very good, so I stuck to my normal grass particle, and then built 8 pieces of branches that use animated bones instead, to fly off for the death animation.

this is a basic ward, its animations include:

Birth -- grows to full size in 10 seconds.
Stand Port. --acts as both the stand animation and the camera portrait.
death -- the plant vigorously shakes back and fourth as white, light grey, and brown blades of grass emit while 8 sets of sticks flail off in all directions spinning as white grayish dust poofs out.

I suggest 1.240 death time seconds so the death is all nice and smooth.
I recommend a model size between 0.9 and 1.7 so particles fit.
I also Suggest very low health if not a land mine ability with 0 damage so it dies when you walk on it to look even more fragile.
you are free to edit any of my resources and models just give me credit/do not distribute them to other sites.

its made from the white dead coral, its filled with spongy holes that darken to dark yellow, the grass is grey and dead, from the northrend tree, its a dead or dying or sick plant, not a frozen plant. the white cloud is just dust from it being so dry and exploding. its meant to be for dying landscapes and what not.

still, even if you don't think it looks like what I had intended, you can just darken it to what ever color you want from the world editor, I personally color it slightly more yellow. glad you like it any way I guess =/
 
boomwolf, on blight it looks quite white and kind of bonish I guess, you can color it what ever you want in the world editor, I just figured white was a good color for looking crumbly and dead. I could color the model more I suppose like I did with my roses, but I figured white was a nice dead color, its not all white though, the Northrend tree textures brown and grey too. the textures trapped me in that aspect.

and archange1, yea lol--dream catcher was a great movie, and the book was an even greater book. very scary that story is 0.o

the movies pretty good--its pretty creepy!

do people think I need to make this entire model more yellow or something? a lot of people seem to think white doesn't work.

you could color it yellow in game, but then the particles wouldn't match. so id have to color it my self with particles/geoset animations. what do you people think?
