Ancient Sandlord

"In the drifting sands of the desert, the ancient evil awakens"

This is my entry for the 32rd Modelling contest.
I poured my heart and soul into this model, I'll appreciate any feedback, so I can perfect it more before the end of the contest. The whole mesh of the model is scratch made (except the face) and it has a full set of custom animations, made by me.

It's meant to be a Ranged Hero, though considering the animations, it may pass as a melee one.

Enjoy the model.

An interesting idea and good execution. Works in-game and performs well.

I'm no expert, but that dog's face could use a better texture, I would also like more attack and animations, this way it will remain interesting in game.
You can't change this now, but even if your model is super cool and well-made (as it is great job!) it might not get popular due to the lack of scenarios in which it will appear. After a brief research I've found out that only about 60 maps have a theme in which your model could fit.
I would love to use some skeletal nercromancer on a skeletal hound, but I'll have to add some egiptian theme. You could make a modifyed more neutral model (just saying).
Great job! 4 stars.

I could, after the contest ends, right now I wanna focus on perfecting this one, thanks for the feedback.

hey, this is very cool :3 very thematic and animations are nicely thought out. However.. the anims seem slow, without timing, and could use some speedup at certain points, like the swing, or windup to it. a wind-down is what the slow part of the anim should be. granted war3 is mostly quick attacks, but there is still some speed-up and slowdown that you should try doing

Could you point, what in particular caught your attention?

Probably something like this. I think this video can explain it better than I can type here, with graphics and all.

You could even consider acting out the animations yourself to see how it might look.
It really helps, even if it might look silly in the process.

Edit:
Hope this might help.

And I really like the death animation. It's something I've been thinking about how to do, but I haven't thought of a way. Until now.
Very creative on that.
So good job :D

Damn, good job making this. Looks like a well-made model in my opinion especially how the effects are special for this.
