Description
Ancient Hero Arena is a simple hero arena that contains 24 of Blizzard's heroes. Every player can pick one hero and play against the opposite team.
There are 10 rounds of play. After every round all heroes also increase their level and every player gets gold and skill points no matter if they won or lost. At start all players can vote how much time they want to wait before every round begins, 15,30,45, or 60 seconds, to buy abilities and upgrades for your hero. If you don't have buddies to play with, don't worry, there is AI!

You can also vote for a shape in the middle and Line of Sight.
Abilities are upgraded by buying them again. The upgrade limit is 20.
You can select the statues with the arrow keys.
Pressing ESC selects your hero and if the round started, also pans the camera.

Upgrade • contains items for gold. have potions, ankh of reincarnation and tomes with attributes.





1.0.5gHotfix: fixed siphon mana - it crshed the map!)
1.06:- fixed the starting of the game for multiplayer (the dialog for time voting wasnt showing up)
- added messages when players pick heroes
- now, until eveyone picks a hero, the abyss won't have items (??)
- added attachment points to the statues and then effects overhead to recognize them more easy
- added a trigger that stops teammates to attack each other.
- Fixed vote restarting for game starting timer
- when voting for time, it will be showed how much voted
- when teh round starts, all statues fade slowly instead of disappearing instantly

1.07:- fixed the AoE of Devotioon aura
- added 30 second cooldown on Spawn Tentacle
- when the game ends, leaving players will not cause random sounds anymore
- added trigger that will removes mini copies of the used tomes from the ground
- Feedback item's icon is now not the passive one
- The icon of Rare statue is like the others now
- added portrait camera to the model of the statues
- The icons over the statues are now special effects instead of dummies and cannot be targeted

- fixed tooltip of recall item
- Added one crossed obstacle in the middle of the arena
- for that crossed obstancle in the middle, added one more question dialog for the players!
- fixed counting of made votes message
- pressing Esc selects your hero
- Players who leave and are replaceed by AI, chnage their names in teh leaderboard
- when a player dies in a round his name is grayed in the leaderboard for the remaining of the round
- added portrait and collision shape to abyss model
- The hit points of all abyss and statues is now hidden
- now when you buy a hero there will be a levelup effect
- added missing pathing blockers to prevent abusing blink
- at the pedestrals in endgame, there will also be a floating text indicating which team is loser and which winner

- added 12 more ablities in one more statue for each team

- now instead of cross, you vote for a shape
- polymorph uration bonus per item is now half

- the price of permanent invisibility is set to 35
- invisible units are affected by auras

1.12:
(NEW) - when the round starts the camera is also panned to your hero
(NEW) - when you drop an item, a text over it with your name is also created
(FIX) - fixed the trigger that displays error for dropped items after starting a round
(FIX) - Fixed the problem with voting for shapes.... it always was set to none.
(FIX) - reworked and optimized a lot of triggers
(FIX) - adjusted the postion of upper team 's label in endgame
(FIX) - now when you buy a hero his mana will be set to 100%
(NEW) - if players of one team become 0 when a player leaves, a dialog will be shown to the other team for Game over
(NEW) - Before the gates of each team there are flags
(NEW) - team 2 has their camera turned by 180C and yo ucan re-adjust it ewith ESC
(NEW) - Included fireworks in endgame
(NEW) - health stone and mana stone have models too now
(NEW) - changed the icon of companions
(NEW) - Added more random names for the computer players
(FIX) - reduced Kaboom Price to 5
(NEW) - The message, after the 10 rounds end, includes how much team X beat team Y.
(CHANGE) - Damage Statue's icon is changed

(CHANGE) - in the two Abyss, the heroes are rearranged according to primary attribute
(FIX) - Edited all heroes of the same attributes to be fully equal (because there were some that were different)
(NEW) - Added random hints appearing while waiting for a round
(NEW) - You can surrender the ongoing round by typing -surrender or -giveup, after which your hero will die and let you wait the next round to start.
1.12a:
(FIX) -fixed the wrong numbering in the players, which caused the whole game to be unplayable
(NEW) -added option to switch between statues with arrow keys, allowing you to select them faster. (while the round didnt start)
(NEW) -set spacebar-point for all players to their starting locations
(NEW) -while the round timer is ticking, the camera of the players is locked
(NEW) -increased the camera height to 2000 from 1650
(NEW) - increased the selection size of the abyss in the center
(FIX) - further edited the attributes of the heroes
(FIX) -heroes no longer have a selection model overhead in the base
(FIX) -all items now have hotkeys (not their abilities)
1.12b:- (FIX) ESC no longer crashes the map because a proper integer has been fixed
- (FIX) ESC will fix your camera height also now
- (FIX) Players haave their colors red or blue
- (FIX) Disabled player name on items because it caused lag.
- (FIX) team 1's camera in the base is a little lower to see all statues nicely
- (FIX) in endgame exchanged the color of the fireworks as they should be
- (FIX) selecting with the arrows in enabled after all pick
1.12c:- (FIX) ending a round also fixes your camera
- (FIX) Pressing esc selects your hero for you, not everyone
- (FIX) Pressing esc checks if the hero is alive
- (FIX) The message of voting for shapes also shows X / X
- (FIX) The message of voting for LOS also shows X / X
- (FIX) the colors of the leaderboard are fixed in the start of the game
- (FIX) Fixed the shapes U, Z, E, I I.

The map features some interesting terrain tricks, like alpha tile.

There a few small issues you should fix.
- There is a typos 'ehro' in the Avatar tooltip
- Skills should not be drop-able during rounds
- The score board overlaps Damage Done after the round finished.
You should be able to fix this issue with refreshing the boards via trigger.

I highly recommend to improve the AI. AI is always a decent feature,
but yours is, let's say, just dumb. In the first round, I was their first target and after that, they completely ignored my AI team-mate,
eventually dying from his attacks while trying to follow me.

You could also think about adding more terrain to the arena area.
Maybe generated terrain, being newly generated each round, offering some variation to the look.

Additionally, I highly recommend to remove black mask.
Is there a reason to use black mask, too, and not only fog of war ?
The doodads interact strangely with the black mask.

You could make the time between rounds configurable for the players.
60 seconds is a lot of time especially advanced players enjoy smaller
waiting times.

manipulating default abilities, without greater innovativeness or uniqueness.
There are hero arena maps with exactly the same concept.

Although the map features AI, the AI is dumb,
you can easily foresee its behaviour.

It might be enjoyable, but is highly improvable.
You can easily improve the map with consdiering what is said in the comments.

It is a really fun map to play. The abilities is very cool and strong against the AI. the sound is pretty normal and not irritating. I only played this map in single player and I think the map would be more fun playing with friends via lan or online. I notice that it is very easy to become OP and that I can solo insane AI from level 3, where all abilities or items that I want is bought. I wonder If there is use of the other gate, left and right from the middle, or if Stan0033 has any surprises with that two gates. It would be nice to play against a boss every 5 levels or so because the match is so short and would be nice to fight something strong now and then.

I love this map and I personally rate this map 5/5 +rep. Hope I see more great maps like this from you, Good Job

Ok,no fancy review since I'm a bit busy but I'm still going to share my thoughts and opinions
Pros:
+Love the AI names(Bloody Mary ftw!)
+Very good use of SoJ's map template
+Ai works effectively
+There are enough abilities to take on three of the main roles:Support,tank and DPS

Cons:
-The waiting times are quite long and can take away from the excitement for someone who already has the abilities they need/want
-Generic abilities
-The map itself quickly starts too feel repetitive

Suggestions:
Add a command that allows the players to skip the waiting time,or maybe a option at the start to choose the duration
Add some custom abilities,or modify the abilities to have something unique,such as adding another effect after being upgraded 5 times
Add something special to every few rounds,such as events or bosses

Verdict:
It's a decent map,yet it could use some excitement and uniqueness.There are plenty of arena maps,you need to make yours more unique to make it stand out .4/5

It crashed after the second round that was won by the computer team (2 AIs vs two players). They won both rounds and the game crashed. They had Blood Mage and the Crypt Lord. We had the Lich and the Brewmaster.
The Brewmaster was equipped with Unholy Aura, Critical Strike, Endurance Aura, Command Aura, Vampiric Aura and Bash. The Lich had Frost Armour, Frost Nova and Brilliance Aura.
The Blood Mage had Pheonix, Summon Bear and Flamestrike while the Cryptlord was equipped with Slow, Carrion Swarm and Impale (I think...)

The spells customization system is really nice.
The AI does not start attacking until it reaches the middle of the arena.

I love the terrain (Since it's from a template so meh)
But how you code the abilities just suck so hard. Sorry but I played it and I always loose.

I played a bit with Roland to try the map out.
The first flaw I noticed was that you don't get teleported into the actual arena when a round start.

Secondly the things you can buy for gold should be in a separate shop.

Some abilities do not stack properly as well. I bought 5x mirror image but only got 3 clones.

If I buy an ability with a full inventory it wont be added despite me having the same item already.
I had to drop one item in order to upgrade my mirror image.

Lastly, I think the cc duration of things should be reduced. Entangle cc for 6 seconds is just op.
 
@Chaosy,

1. In warcraft III you can't buy more than 6 items, because your inventory becomes full.
Dropping it to upgrade one is the only option.
2. Sorry about mirror image! It's not item stacking problem, it's ability's prperties. I fixed that.
3. Yes, you don't get teleported. Is this a flaw or maker's decision?

About the new update,
as Chaosy already said, heroes could be forced to enter the arena once a round started.
What is the sense of having the heroes lurk around in the map corners.

It is a shame you cannot improve the AI yourself, that's a severe drawback for this map.

Credits for the custom selection circle missing.

I played a few games vs AIs, all seemed fine until I tried to buy "Siphon Mana". My game just force quits, no error or something of that sorts, just closes itself. Tried recreating it with another hero, but still the same result. Heroes used were the Archmage and the Demon Lord. Also health bars are a little too big in my opinion. Otherwise the map seems really fun.

What a great arena map. I was obsessed with Angel Arena maps, but this...is far more better. 5/5 !
P.S. - you should add some new spells :D
