Afterlife v4.0

A straight survival map. Survive with your team 10 Waves of undead creeps.

Includes:
save/load system
~50 Differrent Weapons

This map is no longer protected, you are free to edit the code for your own gains. Maybe someone somwhere can learn from this small mess i made.

although it's abit too big for 1MB internet

Edit: Hey, I think I found some bug, -ping command doesn't work
-ping ammo is work but -ping *pingtracking code* won't work

Edit2: I know now, my level was too low, heh.

It works as intended you will need a higer level to use the tracking codes, hoever the message is displayed but it wont track unitil you reach the requirement. I'll fix it in the next version so the message wont show up anymore.

Well, I think bullet go trough the enemy should be only Hunter Bow because it's hard to finding it and have moderate damage with low speed. ( though you don't need to reload it )

And I guess all machine-gun aren't too waste ammo in auto mode? I tested in single with whosyourdaddy cheat, it shoot 2-3 ammo for 1 zombie. ( without miss )
I guess you shoulda change some projectiles speed of some gun.
Just my thought, XP.
However it's good to see the update.

well you know with whoisyourdaddy you also get high damage killen every creep with the cheepest weapon in one hit. You cant build balance on cheatcode based arguement...

Weapons Balance /Games Balance is mostly Alex-Knights Job, i do the Trigger Part mostly.

lol, i thought about something cool...
i host this map 5 to 10 times per day,
thats 7 players that download this map by me, 5 players, 7 times = 35 players.

I started to host Afterlife one year ago, so since then i have given this map to at least 4'110'417'920 players!

but since the last 4 months 8% of the players who joined me already had the map i take 3% away from the sum, so its 3'987'105'382 players!!!^^

any questions? x)

You haven't include the number of versions you were currently hosting at the time, before everyone had to redownload the map, so that Statistic is pretty flawed, too vague. You said you hosted it one year ago, which is pretty long. And if you did hosted 5 to 10 times per day, then your positive that its always 5 Players that has downloaded the map by you? What about others who hosted? So the last 4 Months people couldn't already have the same map since there is always a new version coming out. If you can clearify this statement then I will reconsider about that Statistic of yours.

When you get infected and lose hp to 2 health , however if you equip a gun u will die . Please fix this in the next version.
Anyway i don't know if its just me , all the pistol except glock is crap.. so does chainsaw lol.

*Almost forgot* Wave 2 starts before Wave 1 after the -restart command or sometimes skip Wave 1 ._.

Hi, I am wondering when afterlife would be updated. I am a big fan of it and i play it whole day long. I actually have made a clan in US West called the AFLA (Afterlife Alliance). I am a lvl 123 in US west, i earned the exp all by myelf and have beaten the game several times.

Those who enjoy afterlife are always welcome to my clan, i will give a pen/ field test as an entry test.

Also, there are 5 significant bugs yet needed to be fixed, i hope the editor can work on it.
1. People die when they switch guns at hp 1 with open-wounded.
2."Glitch" bug (Which people pause the game when all are dead, and spam -restart to get x times of items and guns)
3. Wave 1 and preparation time will be skipped somtimes after restarting the game. (Wave 2 comes after loading time have passed)
4.Cool down of stimpack can be cancelled when people dropping their guns, so the cool down time is skipped.
5.During reload, if people drop their guns, they will lose all the ammo in which they are reloading with.

Also, there are a few suggestions for the game.
1. More new weapons, i think the unique weapon system in afterlife definitely made the game one of the best zombie game ever. As a result, new introduction of weapon will change the game experience of the game.
For example, new secret weapon dropped by boss, new ammo type, new weapon. New weapon like G36C, M16-A2, PSG1, M1911, etc etc. I also suggest the introduction of rocket launcher, which could be funtioned same as grenade launcher but have more ranger, area of effect, and destructive power. However, the ammo available for the rocket launcher should be limited. They can also be more melee weapon like the katana and baseball bat, i strongly believe that this will make the game more interesting and everlasting. The secret weapon could be a galting gun, which burns ammo really rapidly but with a extremely deadly power. All in all, there are a lot more weapon that can be added into this game, and im looking forward for it.

2. New zombie type: There can be zombie crawling on the floor after they are shooted. Or perhaps Zombie dogs and new worm type? I am certain that the worm can mutate into another form, which is larger in size and way more powerful.

3. Increase the length of game: More waves can be added to the game, although 10 waves is already long enough, and i dont think many people can make it to wave 10. But for pros or experts, they can definitely go along with it. As a result, more bosses can be added along with new secret weapons.

4. Difficulty selection: There can be different difficulty that the host can choose from, which makes the game more user-friendly and challenging. For example, in hard mode zombie's average hp will increase along with their amount. While in easy mode, zombie has lesser hp and lesser in number compared to normal mode.

5.Increase in number of players, although 8 players are more than enough for this game, i think if 10 players can be played all toegther, the game will be more fun. (I dont have to worry about there are clan members who cannot join the game because the game room is full)

6. New terrain: I have a few suggestions for the change in terrain. I think in some places(like the school and the hotel) high ground could be added into it, because in real life school and hotel usually have more than one level. Also, places like hospital can also be added to it too.

7. New skill: As i review the level system, i found that they are actually only 50 levels for critical damage, 50 levels for throwing knife, 10 levels for handmade grenade and 50 levels for evasion. Only 160 skill points are used, while there are 40 points left. As a result it might not be a bad idea to add a new skill into it. I have three suggestions for that skill: 1: Faster reload rate 2: Possibility of penetration of bullet through zombie bodies 3: Increase efficency of medikit

8. More medikit type and introduction of c4. There are a few medikits that can be added to the game, for example like health spray, plaster, or even medicine which can protect people from poisoning. Also, explosives like c4 could also be added to the game, which player can remotely control the explosion of the bomb, but i suggests that the bomb should also be able to kill teammates and burn trees.

9. Last but no least, the introduction of lighting items like the flashlight. Infra-red scope which can be placed on a rifle, which increases the rifle critical chance. Larger magazine which allow the gun itself reload more ammo at the same time.

At last i hope some of you can give comment on my suggestions, i know it might be kind of stupid. Afterall it's up to the editor decision, however, i really look forward the release of a new version.

This has good potential, it needs to be updated, Again, this is one of the worthy maps drowned out by a sea of DotA.

Hello, I am a polish player of afterlife and i am looking for updates too ;] it's a great game and needs to go forward ;p at the moment I have near 40 lvl and I reached lvl 7 boss :) and like timtimothy said, difficulty selection will be a great thing, for example on easier modes zombies can give less experience, and for now it's too hard to make a "base bunker" with stationary guns and people shooting because it's too many zombies and too small amount of ammo ;p

just brilliant. best survival map i have ever played i am not always fond of zombie maps. This is great. I'm not sure about the most current version, but I hear there is a bug when you pause and spam -restart it gives extra ammo. I prefer to play fair tho ^_^

This map is awesome. I play many versions of these, until the last one edited by Timtimmothy, the "Afterlife Advance N Final". That one is extreme. I like that. But still remain the restart bug, that make some players always request the host to use bug. They can win so easily with lots of guns, ammo, ... and it make the map less attracctive to them.
I love to play the map without bug, and get to level 100 now. A little boring when no new version continue to be produced out.
Hope to play together with someone here someday.

its a very good map ^^
maybe you can add new item like barricade or electric fence
so the player can set up some base at the place with the automatic door

afterlife reborn and adding
a few more spawns maybe vehicles
and a lot of zombies dw ill give you credit for
making the map originally :D

Very good map (a lot of time played), sometime else play in Afterlife, pitifully this map not supported yet.

This map is great but version 3.8d had shops and the "-restart" command. We could play it together and build many towers to defend and collect gold. Whenever we died we could simply restart and had the same XP and gold. The latest version doesn't have shops on the map, so we cannot buy any towers which was one of the greatest things about this map.
