Map Info:

"The great dark beyond is a mysterious place. Many exotic worlds await to be discovered by brave adventurers. You and your enemies are stranded on such a world. It's now up to you to travel into the unknown and claim this world before them."


Features:

-6 Gold Mines
-2 Goblin Merchants
-2 Mercenary camps
-2 Goblin Laboratory
-2 Taverns
-1 Fountain of health

Creeps camps:
-8 green camps
-10 orange camps
-3 red camps


Change Log:





-Map uploaded





-Fixed the white color on the minimap thanks to Cuore





- Custom units have been removed. The fountain of power is now a fountain of health and the Murloc huts are now custom doodads.
- All the neutral heroes are now present in the tavern.
- The creeps's drops have been rebalanced.
- Both players start near the tree line.
- Increased height variation in order to be more visible.

Author's notes:

Just found the alpha tile and decided to mess around with it. This map is the result. I tried to do something unique like an alien world, unfortunately making the map quite heavy in the process. Hope you like it and as always feedback is appreciated. As a side note, if someone knows how to get rid of the white color of the alpha tile on the minimap, I would like to know how. Thanks.

I think the Fountain of Power would have been an interesting addition since it's not a custom unit although not a melee one. Changes made, Approved.

Looks awesome, reminds me of a wow (burning crusade) outland and sc2 mix. I never liked the "space background" in sc2, but here it works out great.
If you want the map to be balanced comparable to ladder maps, you maybe should do something about the following aspects:
-Relatively large distances between main and trees.
-Undead cannot hope to wall of acos.
-Some green creepcamps drop lvl 3 items, some even two of then. Imho any green camp should drop at most a single lvl 2 item + maybe a tome.
-A basic miltia creep can clear the merccamp, obtaining a lvl5 item. Too strong imho.
-The middle expansion items are underpowered. Also, fastexpanding looks unrealistic.
-I expect reinforcements will often be attacked and killed by the fountain creeps.

Thanks for your feedback. I'm not very familiar with the ladder maps' s balance so I have some difficulty adjusting the creep camps. I will wait for more feedback and update the map accordingly.

Really awesome use of doodads.
Creative, beautiful and absurd landscape. Can't say much for the melee balance since I didn't play, just wanted to tell you how awesome the terrain is.

Thanks! Glad you like it and thanks for the rep. As I said I may not be on point with the balance so I try to make the terrain as interesting as possible.

Terrain is very well done. Some areas of the map provide important tactical value like choke points and players can make great defense with the good tree placements. My only problem is that some of the very weak creeps drop way too powerful items. I got a ring of protection + 4 just by killing a felguard that defended the mercenary camp and the overlord just gave me a pendant of energy. So yeah place the more powerful items on the stronger creeps.
Another than that good job.

4. Found two Masks of Death at a neutral camp guarding a shop (Goblin Merchant). Also found one and an Amulet of Spellshield on a small group where there are draenei and a Fel Beast. And another Mask of Death from the Goblin Laboratory group.

Overall the map looks good albeit flat (terrain with no height/lowered levels).

Hi. First thing thanks for the rep. I followed your remarks (and everyone else feedback) and I made the following modifications:

-Starting location near the treeline
-No more overpowered loots for the creeps (at least I hope).
-No more custom units. But the Murloc Hut becomes doodads then :p
-All neutral heroes are back in the tavern.
-The terrain is not really flat, but it's true, it doesn't show well in game so I tried to accentuate that.
-For the border I did what I could

I hope it's ok.

Thanks. About the fountain of power I can still put it back if you think it's better. I removed it because in order to show it on the minimap I had to change its race. Making it a custom unit.
