Single player minigame to test your dodging reflexes.

Who ever thought in Blizzard to give bears the Blink ability? One of them messed around too much and blinked somewhere he wasn't supposed to. Now vile magic of mysterious square isle is hunting him. Can you help him to make it through?


Features

-avoid enemy spells in 10 levels each lasting 45 seconds
-enemy types and their spawn position come in random order (no same enemy encountered twice in row)
-effects become more dangerous with each level
-finishing level drops rune of healing(66%) or mana(33%)
-available starting bonuses - 300 health / 20% spell resistance / 25 movespeed / no bonus


Details
-clean ice restores 5 hp/sec
-ice chunks restore 5 mana/sec
-Teddy can use Blink at 100 mana, 3 second cooldown & 1050 cast range
-Teddy movespeed - 300
-Teddy health/mana - 1000



Dangers

Tauren Chieftains

8 Tauren Chieftains:
-walk around randomly, turn and cast Shockwave with global reach
-Shockwave speed is 1050
-moves at 200 speed


1 Chieftain of Tauren Chieftains:
-spawns in the middle
-walks between corner points
-randomly casts War Stomp
-moves at 200 movespeed

Pit Lords:

4 Fire Lords:
-constantly cast Rain of Fire
-target area slowly wanders around
-first wave is targeted infront of Fire Lord


3 Doom Lords:
-cast Doom on random point
-after 1.4 second blows up applying damage over time and silence


1 Cleave Lord:
-follows Teddy around
-if comes within reach, he swings his weapon in attempt to strike
-moves at 270 movespeed

Wardens:

5 Wardens:
-blinks randomly
-shortly after blink does Fan of Knives


3 War Dens:
-stands in place, walks randomly, occasionally blinks or channels Shadows Strike missiles
-duration of channeling is random, throwing 1 missile every 0.5 second
-missiles fly out random distance in random direction within her facing angle
-if hits Teddy, applies damage over time and slow
-moves at 200 movespeed

Horde:

5 Blademasters:
-stand, walk randomly, use Mirror Image, cast Bladestorm or enter Wind Walk
-images last between 3-10 seconds and stand or walk randomly
-Wind Walk lasts up to 6 seconds and increases movespeed to 400
-has slightly higher chance to use Bladestorm while wind walking
-during Bladestorm moves around in chaos
-moves at 250 movespeed


3 Very Far Seers:
-constant cast of Earthquakes at random areas slowing movement speed

Scourge:

2 Death Knights:
-throws Death Coils onto Teddy's location at 100 speed
-summons skeletons that wander around


2 Liches:
-channels Freeze on random skeleton
-standing within 350 range causes barrage of slowing missiles


2 Lords of Dread:
-flies around using Carrion Swarm (550-950 range)


2 Lords of Crypt:
-moves under ground with 500 speed impaling units on surface

Alliance:

4 Mountain Kings:
-does AoE Thunder Claps causing 50% slow for 3 seconds
-has a chance to walk directly towards Teddy
-moves at 220 movespeed


3 Bloody Mages:
-channels Mana Siphon on the ground
-Teddy when hit loses mana and moves 80% slower
-Mountain King when hit enters Avatar which causes his next Thunder Clap to have doubled AoE


1 Archmagi:
-constant cast of Blizzard on nearest corner point or middle to Teddy

Adapted with Map Adapter for 1.31 so bear with me if any bugs because of that. Blink has the Q hotkey but the title shows the B from Blink as yellow. I think you should start with full HP on each level. Level 4 brought the Shockwave Tauren...

  4. Many traps or triggers are pretty random so, hard to dodge.

  • A credits list in the map thread description is required where the names of the resource (models, skins, icons, spells, sound etc.) authors are mentioned along with the specific resource. It would be a luxury to have links leading to the used resources. Credits in the Quest Log would be appreciated too.
  • A detailed changelog in the first post would be helpful to reviewers and notify fans about the newest implementations to your map.
  • Map thread tags are important. Please use those that fit and not more or none.

1. There is no such setting for it to highlight B. It must be reforged related bug.

2. That is the whole point to survive through all 10 levels. If you had full hp you could start the game, go shopping and come back to victory screen.
3. Intended.
4. Everything looks random if you ignore it's patterns. No mechanic will damage you without you having chance to dodge it.

Actually, Shockwaves aren't that easy to dodge even with the bonus speed as the area they cover is pretty wide. Also, blinking isn't that instant especially if the bear has to turn for it.
What patterns? You can't expect to learn all enemy movements in a few seconds. It's not like every tauren shockwaves in the same direction all the time.

There is 2.25-3 second timer before he shockwaves in the direction of facing after he stopped moving. That is decent amount of time to be aware. Of course it is difficult first time you play it. What challenger map is not gonna suprise you before you learn how to work through.

I'm pretty satisfied with the way it is for now \o/.

Btw you should stop using Map Adapter when doing reviews. You have basically downgraded the review by something that is not related to the map at all.

Please don't doublepost.

How do you know what the rating was on when I didn't specify? You think I'd take 1 star for a piece of text? As I mentioned, bugs could be because of the improper adaptation.
I will review maps as I can otherwise you'll wait more than needed since Reforged isn't too well seen by many of us reviewers.
Anyways, as specified in the review template, you can ask for a review from any other official map critics in that list.

To me, the map isn't that complex, is all. It's nothing new either. There are numerous trap/dodging related maps. Also, it's pretty much short and doesn't have true replayability.

True you did mention there could be bugs but in the end it just makes the map look worse than it is. We all know who to blame though. Thanks Reforged.

I can see why you call it it's not complex enough which it isn't but I did go creative with spells and behaviours while staying themed to each character. Your review does feel bit harsh as usual but it does have it's value. Thanks.

Tell you what. If you ever find the time or creativeness to update it, I'll give it another star ;)

EDIT: by the way if you could make a multiplayer mod. That would spice things up.
You could have two multiplayer modes, one with all players in the same arena and another with each player in his own arena.
