Screenshots {how do you take screenshots and save them?}

Im a complete nub about this...how do I take screenshots and save them?

I use a program called FRAPS

Hit the Print Screen key on your keyboard. Mine is located up-right of the "=" key. It saves in your Warcraft directory, but you an also paste it in a program such as paint, and then save it.

It will autosave into the warcraft driectory in game when I click it right?

laptop fn+prt sc
it will copy it,
to paste it open up paint, and ctrl+v

you have to do it 1 at a time tho


you can use frapps to take multiple, it will save in the frapps directory

Yeah I can take the screenshots but they won't open in paint cause their not the right file or something.

"The Gimp" is a free image editing software that allows you to open many filetypes. Similar (non-free) programs are photoshop, photostudio, etc.

or simply download a free tga->jpg converter.

Dude paint would work with any file. Idk wut type of file ur pasting into their. Just do Print scrn sysrq buttom then open up paint n paste. It diff works. If not use gimp.

I'll continue this:
Download Fraps, start it, set the default directory for screenshots to your folder x, choose the hotkey and minimize it.
Whenever you press the hotkey, fraps will save the current screen as a jpg.

.tga is Wc3's standard image file-type.

IrfanView is another option.

There are some people who have problems with Warcraft's regular way of taking screenshots, since they turn out to be 3 MB completely black .tga images. In that case, FRAPS is the way to go. Or you can use Paint and paste, but it's way more painful, and I don't think that allows you to take more than one screenshot at a time (due to having to paste).

Even if you could take more than one ss at a time, it wouldn't look good because you'll still see "Screenshot saved" on the screen for a while...

IMO gimp or photoshop are the way to go. With fraps you can only take ss's, with image editing software you can actually edit them or convert them.

It does.

I don't mean to be rude but is it so hard to understand that you got multiple programs to open (and convert) screenshots with?

YOU GOT, I only repeat this once:
- Paint, simple but not handy with multiple screenshots.
- Gimp, can open, convert, save etc. it.
- Photoshop, same thing as Gimp.
- FRAPS, I personally don't know how you can use this programs for SS, but who cares - it works.
- Any other artprogram.

Press Alt and Print Scr.

then open up paint or photoshop or whatever you have and press paste or ctrl+v

GIMPs a realy good free tool I use it loads, butr for some reason when ever I save a screen shot wc always saves it upside down but its not a major prob.
