Demi-heros (heroes with no top left icon)
In some Warcraft maps ive seen units with xp bars, that dont have a picture in the upper left corner. how do they do that

In the object editor, set Stats - Hero - Hide Minimap Display to true.

what's the purpose of this? free up screen space?
can you still select them with f1 and all that?
ok i tested it, and it's actually hide hero interface icon.
and no you can't select them with f1 and all that.

well if i remeber correctly werent there some creeps with xp bars that werent hero units

Non-hero units can't gain exp in normal way.
