My very first icon :P

So I started reading a few tutorials on how to make icons, and I was intrigued. Here's my first one.

I'm not going to submit this one. As they say "NEVER submit your first resource type" :D

Its suppose to be a "Glowing Sword". Made it completely from scratch.

...So...What do you guys think?

I thinks it's good, but need to be more sharpen.

looks good. .but needs more shading. .it has too much highlights,and the glow,more shading on it. .i hope you can work on that :D. .

more glow on the yellow thingy and more highlights on,dont touch the sword,its already nice and ok

Yes, you need to work on the shading. Also, it's very 'noisy' - as in there are lots of little strong pixels everywhere.

The overall shading on the blade is lacking, i would suggest fixing the shading on the blade and make the whole sword itself visible and is in front of the backround.
