I definitely agree with thedeathunterxx's nomination of Fladdermasken's "Eye on the Prize" terrain. It's one of my alltime favorites and a personal inspiration to my own terrains.

I'd also like to add two nominations of my own. The first is a self-nomination (massive ego moment) of my Terrain "Light."

This is modificated with some image editor to look beautiful, in warcraft world editor it would not be polished like that.

No - you just need to know how to use it correctly
Also note that this type of terraining != the type that would end up in game, and thus is made for the specific camera angle and lighting.
