does animated texture work in warcraft?

I see almost all psp games use animated texture to animate the face. Is this will work in warcraft?

yes it's possible to do.

There are 2 ways to do it, have your list of textures declared into the model and animate the TextureId on a material layer.

The other way is unifying the textures into one and applying unwrap animaions, also known as tvertexanimations.

Look into the water element, the alchimist hero or firelord for references.
