Introduction

At first, a description on the hive may be obsolete if you've made a very good list in-game.
Adding a description on the site, is one of the rules when uploading a map, so your map can get rejected if you did not do so.

The reason why a good description is necessary is to encourage users to play your game.
It will grip the attention of people who (accidentally) pass by, attention is one of the basic things a map must have, otherwise it will be forgotten in the thousands and thousands of maps in hiveworkshop.com.

Every time someone passes by your map and pays attention to the description, is a step closer for your map to get famous soon.
Not only will it get famous: more people will respond, more people will find bugs, more people will try to help you and not only the map will get better, but it might be possible that you will improve your own mapping skills.

I will now try to explain each part of important things in your map descriptions (You will see that each template has them as well)

1. Map Info
   Map info is the place where your main description should be.
   Write about how you've gotten the idea, what the map is all about, what the objective is,...
   Paste links in your Idea Factory Threads...
   Describe game modes...
2. Features
   Best way to quickly describe your map and show people what your map has to offer are features!
   Write here what is that that makes your map unique!
   You used some crazy and awesome systems, well mention that too!
3. Some more stuff about map
   This one should not bother people with too much information like Map Info or Features...
   You can use it for fun to show people how many doodads your map has, how many abilities you added etc
   or you can write hints, commands, explain game modes etc etc!
4. Screenshots and Video
   BThe best way to show your map to users, is by posting some nice terrain pictures with combat scenes, awesome spells or scenes of epic team play. This way, you will promote your map and increase its popularity and fame really fast.
   If one picture speaks a thousand words imagine what one video can do!
5. Change Log
   Show users what you have changed in the new version, show fixed bugs or glitches so they can be up to date with newest map version!
   Also good, is to check if the map is balanced, maybe recently added abilities are boring compared to existing ones, who knows, maybe once the map becomes really popular, then maybe your opinion will be less worthy than one told by a player!
6. Credits
   Credits should always be listed even ingame, you may think that they aren't useful for your map or your map description, but trust me, a map without a credits list is fail.
   Users spend a lot of time to create models, icons or abilities/systems, so at least write their name in the credits list.
   How will you fill if some buddy use your map, that you created month or too, edit few things, add some more to it and use it as his own, no credits no nothing...
7. Author's notes
   Place to write and give attention to important things about your map!
