Hey there, I recently replayed your Shortlegs map with the canal.
The design and weirdness just oozes that classical wc3 altered melee. I really like it.
I hope you continue on it. :)

I will! Glad you had some fun with it. :D
I am working on a very different large project right now, but I definitely plan to work on Shortlegs some more as well.

Got some ideas for custom mechanics and AI I am eager to try out.

But I'm not quite sure when I will be able to get around to it. I hope to have a demo for my current project by the end of this year/early 2023, and then I'll do more Shortlegs again for a change.
Hello, I'm a little confused about Doodad model making. I don't understand how the height change is made when the unit passes by. Do you have time to give some guidance? Or are there any related tutorials?
I played your Shortlegs map and I really like the idea and the feel of the map.
I do however cringed hard about some of the model, sorry 😅
Altered melee maps are my favourite types of maps and I am really looking forward to you making more progress.

Thanks XD that does means a lot to me, coming from you!

And yes I realize I took some severe shortcuts.
Plus as I said (an you noticed) there honestly remain things I still haven't figured out on my own.

I would really love to take you up on that offer of talking a bit more about properly using collision shapes and such, I kinda need that.
Due to personal reasons, I am really busy right now, so I don't know when I can reply again...

For now, just to get it started, I'd sum up where I am stuck right now:

Usually, after exporting from gmax I start making a standard collision shape in Magos, then calculate extends.
I noticed that this would include backgrounds and "far away" features of the model, making it horrible to pick in-game.
So when it got too bad I found the work-around that I would make the shape, calculate the extends of the model
and then add the additional elements later through geoset import, so it is not included in the calculated extends.

Something tells me that's not exactly how it's supposed to be done---

Anyway, thanks again, and all the best!

    I sent you a private message. :)
    Hello Verdun!
How would you like to join my modding team of Colossal Productions as our 3D Modeller? Colossal Productions is made up of jones080, jxtranghero, hades17, Champara Bros, newbchu, AL0NE, Blood Raven and me.
Our goal is to make quality maps for peoples enjoyment. If you are asking, what would I do? You would just simply provide us 3D Doodad Models resources to be used in our maps.
If you have any more questions, please fell free to VM me.

Also, our current projects are located in my signature.

    Cheers,

    Hello Verdun.

Please note that double-posting is against the rules. I have merged [POST=925676]your posts[/POST] already, but please in the future edit your posts instead of double-posting.

    Thank you for your time.
nope... umm its really just speculation right now, wild rumors and gossip. dont believe anything you read in my signature..... ITS GOING TO TAKE ME FOREVER TO MAKE!!!! but ill be making some pretty cool models :D
This is in response to what you posted at my CP.

    As long as you:

    1. Give me credit.
    2. Do not give it to anyone.
    3. If your map is unprotected, state clearly that you used an edited version of my model. That way, if the steal it, I have justifacation to alert the authorities.
    4. Try not to tell anyone. I don't want people coming constantly.

If you follow this, you may modify.
    Enjoy! And good luck.
Um, sorry for no reply but I haven't logged here since quite some time.

About the models, sure you can modify them as much as you like and post them. I don't have anything against.
