- cap will check at the end of every wave, and any lumber above cap will remove from game.








LegionTD Mega is base on Legion TD War 1.50c (by LISK), he quit Warcraft 3 and left the map for anyone to continue development.

for this version (Mega), it will be X3 mode only, so I can spent more time to balance the map for X3 mode.

Primary Mode:
  • -AP : All Pick - All players can pick any race.
  • -AP : All Random - All players are given a random race.
  • -SD : Single Draft - All players are given 2 random races to choose.
  • -HP : Host Pick - host pick a race, every given same race as host.
Secondary Mode:
  • -mm : Master Mind - Restricted vision on enemy's map and information.
  • -hg : Hour Glass - Receive gold for enemy leaks (that reach the King).
  • -gg : Get Gold - Receive gold from kills at middle (near king).
  • -cb : Change Builder - You can pay to change to a new builder.
  • -li : Limit Incomer - Pure income is disabled untill lvl10+.
  • -X3 : 3 Time - more creeps spawn
Default Mode: if you don't enter mode in 15 seconds after game start, it will use "-aphgggmmcbx3" as defualt mode.

Quick Mode: if mode string is 3 characters long, it will use Quick Mode. eg "-ap"

- Mana regen aura : 3% -> 5% (eg, if you have 30mana, it will add +1.5 mana/second)

Shadow:
- Nightmare/Doppleganster tank better (light -> unarmored)

Nature:
- Tree of Knowledge's AoE spell limit to 15 target

Demi:
- Alpha Male: reduce spell animation (almost instantly cast)

Orc:
- Poison cannot kill creep (will leave it with 1hp)

Goblin:
- Goblin's driver will elf-destructive when die ( same effect as small/medium land mine)

Creep:
- level 22, 28 is slightly easier (around 5-10% easier)
- 17,18,23,24,25,26,27 is harder

Summon:
- correct shortcut key for Pudge & shaman

- Behemouch changes: add +3 armor aura
- Krakken changes: add healing aura (+4 hp AOE)

Arena:

- Unit/Turtle won't move untill fight start

I will put negative mana regen on building so *building* can't heal.

Because this bug only happen when player *right click to active* on building.

Priest's heal is changed :

Priest : 130hp/10 mana
High Priest : 300hp/10mana

10 seconds per heal without mana aura
or 6.66 seconds per heal with mana aura.


Edit: 3.41 is released !!

But I happened to discover a lot more stuff in my bot logs. I am not sure, how to interpret that stuff. Maybe you can take a look at tell me if you got a clue what thats about. There's a shitload of STATSW3MMD log entries. See excerpt below, full log for game in attachment.

I am just thinking about Lumber upGrades... so annoying when ppl wont understand that doing lumber upgrades in round 27 or so is no good.

What about binding availability of lumber upgrades to recommended value? Starting in round 21, only if mode is -li. Meaning they only can do further lumber upgrades if value >= recommended value


what do you think?

the log seen normal if it also happen in beta:
1, everytime it update, it will overwrite older value
2, if there are 8 player, you should get 8 copy of update for same value.

Because in warcraft 3, you can saved game for single player campaign, but some player try use those "save game" function for multiplayer(the result is W3MMD), but in multiplayer, everyone try send their data to host, so host received 6 copy of data. that is why your hostbot say "duplicate" or repeat "overwrite".

if your log only happen in 1 game, then it is possible:
- someone running maphack try send fake data to learn or fool the W3MMD ?
- W3MMD doesn't work under special condition

if this is new in 3,41 (not happen in beta), then try send me one replay see if I can found anything (because I can parse them to view real W3MMD message)

Ah ok, I see. No, this also happened for beta games, just didnt notice before as I dont look at the log files so much. I guess I will rewrite the bot sourcecode then to not spam my log files :) So many messages on a single game.... phew, I will have TB of logs pretty soon :D

But if we remove the building's heal, does that mean we only get half the heal we are getting now from a priest in a fight?

Heal has a range limit, the way I play the game, building far, I dont think building can heal my tank since healers are on 3rd lane or more, but can probably heal my ranged. This mean if you build your defense closer to entrance and healers on 2nd lane, they would be more effective. Anyway this will be fixed so no need to argue about it :p.

Well yes and no, if they up lumberjack late game and reduce their value overall, its kinda their problem since they dont know how to play.
But on the other hand, this would increase by far the average length of games.
If there are more lvls on the new version then this mode could be usefull to test those new lvls. And again... if there are lets say 5 new lvls, this mean you should stop upgrades around lvl 25 instead of 21, if you want the highest value possible for the new last lvl.

I like the idea itself would just need some testing on what lvl it should start and what kind of value would be good for it, > or = seems good.

I'm also positive on keeping bonus gold on, just make new lvls much harder :p.

I think they know it is bad to upload lumberjack at lvl27.

but they want to show off "I have higher lumberjack than you".

now, with new score system, hopeful it will become "I have higher score than you"...and it is really hard to cheat for higher score (because it is average score from level 1 to current level)

The way you're doing is the right way to do it, but 3.49(beta1) remove all doubts that 3.50 will be the new one.

I also saw on other maps, example for 3.50 (betas): 3.49.1 then 3.49.2 etc.
That way can also be confusing cause there's alot of numbers, but people would know for sure 3.50 is coming next.

Basically you're doing it right, Gazelle already said that. But it is seen quite some times that the alpha/beta development is done with a lower version number or even name (Windows Longhorn -> Windows Vista) and by pushing it to final status a new version number is picked. 3.42 beta1, 3.42 beta2.. -> 3.43 final

But that might mislead the normal "intelligent" people :D

You can't satisfy everyone.

But hm, I just realize.... You pushed 3.35 Betas up to 3.35 Beta15 or so .. and then released 3.4 final. 3.35 aint even in the changelog ;) I guess thats why people asking now. So yeah, develop on lower number and release final with higher number.

Thanks for this finally playable version. The Merc bug isn't a big problem that prevents people from playing. This version is much harder and games usually end before or at 17. Most teams leak at 17 now, almost a definite if they get some hard summons.

Since it's pretty hard to get to 7/15 (if you're not Merc or super lucky Prophet/Hybrid, or fed like crazy by noobs leaking) now by early 20's, it's become a game of skill. Even with the income cap removed, it's pretty hard. Since you made level 3 harder, it has almost stopped the 3 or 4 worker builds by level 3.

bug? - The king says permanent immolation but he has no immolation.

-Not sure why Masta says playing Merc is lame. It's only lame if the Merc is fed. If not fed, Merc is a pretty hard to play race on the higher levels in 3.41.

Yeah this version is harder, but 17 is a bit easier than on beta (3?) I think, noticed less players were leaking it.
Immolation on king is not like it was before, units wont get burn but will still lose hp and you can see a buff on units for immolation too.

Personnaly I dont see a single reason to play merc anymore, its weaker than it was so no switching race possible, and its boring as hell to play.
Also on late lvls, it cost so much wood to build than you get less wood than some normal players. Only usefull, and lame way to play it would be to save wood early to kill the other team (most effetive around 17/20 I guess).
AP mode is not used often anymore which solve that problem for me.

I've done now quite some games and I think lvl 15 is too easy. It is outstands all the other rounds. Where 13,14 16 and all the other rounds seem appropriate, 15 feels too easy (I felt like that in many games).

Opinions? Comments? .. :)

It same difficult as lvl14 base on test. (can kill with same value)

Never tried it in new version since I'm not playing merc anymore, but I dont think that way is better than a normal defense since you can get 7/10 and higher with a normal defense and pretty much same value. By the time you switch race with merc, even with 7/10, without feed I believe you'll leak a few lvls until you catch back with income, unless you pick a race like nature. Usualy in those lvls by the time you "catch back" you lose alot of gold.

Call the Betas 3.45 beta X and the stable version 3.5 or in this case the betas 3.41 beta X and the stable one 3.42 or somewhat else.

It is just an idea because I don't play enough merc to find out

On 3.3, with 7/15 I was able save 4k gold or a bit less for lvl 17-18, and I was building every lvl the minimum cost on tower (tier1 for most lvls).
I tried merc a few times on betas the way it is now but with frenzy on.
You need alot of gold, and more and more every lvl to build, dont think you can save 6k gold for lvl 20 anymore especialy with 7/15 maybe with 7/10?.
But the more lvl you keep merc, the more wood go to waste so you have to swtich as soon as possible, lvl 20 is a bit late in my opinion.
To get only 4k value you need what? at least 300 gold spend and more on wood.
From what I remember I had like 2-3k gold at 20, didnt build any tier 4 since its too expensive, ofc problably didnt had the perfect defense but better than what I seen so far.

Edit: One more thing about the way you write the betas, the problem is that on warcraft 3 folder, 3.41 is before the betas. So people will keep hosting 3.41 beta 5 I think....

I just tried playing merc on beta 5, is it same as 3.41?

Had no idea it was sooooo weak now... funny how everytime a unit seems good to cost go up and up now it was tier 2. Then maybe tier 3 ...?

I stoped lumberjack at 7/10 got some fed, leaked some so overall was about even. And at lvl 13 I had 1100 gold [Edit: 1100 gold was actualy at lvl 14 tried is again on version 3.41 this time], was only able to switch race at lvl 18, and with alot of leaks, kept leaking until lvl 21 (with ghost) but I had 14700 value at lvl 28 since my team started failing.
I dont think I have the "best" tactic but I have a good one and yet was only able to get 7/10 after lvl 10.

Also after I switched race, if I wanted I could've switch back to merc every single lvl even at 28 when I was over value, probably a bug.

havn't played new Merc yet. I want to try :

1, change builder after arena, with 7/10 and around 300-500 gold
2, change builder after level 14/15 with 7/10 and 1k gold

not sure if it have better result than 7/15 & changed after level 17/18

On new version if you get 7/10, fastest is after lvl 10. So if you switch you get more like 100-200 gold but here's a way:
Make towers for lvl 11 and switch race that same lvl and start building, like that you wont leak 11 and then get about 300-500 gold. But you'll leak for a while after. Best for now was 7/10 after lvl 10 and wait at 18.

Is it on purpose than if you have merc, switch race, switch back to merc you cant switch anymore? Instead maybe you should just disable merc switch if you pick merc at start.

After lvl 10, I get 9/10, sometimes 10/10. I always get 15/15 after lvl 14.

Goliath gives armor to enemies, too. I guess this is a mistake?

Cluster Rockets deal no damage.

If you change builder, you can get your old one; i would change this.

there are 2 difference 3.41.

one leaked version have Goliath aura bug (only 5 people get this version)

real version download from here without bug.

Warchielf should pulverize every 5 attacks, you should'nt leak if you're rly unlucky especialy with req value and good towers for that lvl.
If the other team send hermit you will still leak but without hermit it shouldn't be possible to leak.

Towers like wolverines are fine with % of chance since if you leak lvl 10 by example, well its because you were under value and had no other boss killers. But this is totaly different from leaking a lvl with req value and good towers early game.

^warchief is used by some people at start for pulverize. It's a useless ability after lv3 anyways. I do think Gazelle makes a point.
I personally don't like warchief and its upgrade, especially after the storm bolt (and hp?) nerf and the fact that lv28 do freakin' siege damage now. Just way too overpriced for their performance.

Warchief still has better dps with his ability. Deal 30 dmg to all units around it, on lvl 1, can deal 30 x 36 = 1080dmg or lets say 30 x 15 = 450dmg "supposedly every 5 attacks".
So with prophet if I get no interresting towers but warchielf I have to re roll since its too risky?
Because of lvl 28, I dont up warchielf anymore, still very good tank for the cost and the ability is rly usefull past lvl 3 just not as obvious as in early game.
Btw I used warchielf in games here a there after 3.3 and its the first time it happened to me since then, just thought I would point it out. The number of times it will happen is low, but annoying enough to mess up a game, you leak more than half the lvl when it happens...
More than half towers in Legion TD mega are useless, just trying to save some of them.

If you dont agree its ok I'll just stop using this tower early game. Just as I stoped using more than half towers.
What I also noticed about this version, is that the reduced number of effetive towers reduce the amount of effective tactics and reduce the amount time you can play the game without being bored lol.
Maybe its because I played too much, but I think many units should be reworked to increase the amount of possibilities.

Anyway I think 3.41 is the best and most playable version since 3.3 and I realize you spent alot of time on it and probably dont have enough time to rework that many units.

Lets take by example violet: 70dps + 3 gust of 10 dmg every sec, so 100dps (a bit more since some of it is spell dmg)

A unit that cost 230gold, has 850hp, 70dps and 30 spell dps would seems like a very good unit. Sadly in x3 this unit should've been modified.
The more creeps there are, the less "blue wind" is effective. Since its not direct dmg, it dmg random creeps everywhere, meaning instead of killing them one by one, it weaken them all. Creeps are not dying so they have time to deal much more dmg.
This is why if you try a defense lets say mudman and violet, you wont be able to stay under value as you would with other tactics, since that unit is too weak in x3.
I remember in x1 violets combined with oceanus was one of the best defense to get rly high income, now its just rly bad.
Something similar is happening with harpy, attacking as many units as possible to poison them instead of killing them.

Will you consider the option to be able to give orders to our defenders? Like, "engage at will" or "keep ranged distance" or "hold this position" etc.. It'll considerably enhance the strategy factor, race difference and will justify harder enemies..

Is it too hard to implement on this game? Any thoughts?

Funny how you also said Violet is weak because of its damage being spread apart.

Now what? The Warchief does 30/1.5*20%= 4 dps in a very small area, air units excluded. How is that any close to being "useful" past level 3, when one pulverize only hits 3 units instead of 20? At least the Violet can sit at backrow and do guranteed damage with its phoenix fire, the Warchief can't even land its hits well against ranged enemies, due to bad melee AI.

I always use dps/cost & HP/cost ratio to decide if that unit is good or bad.


violet dps ratio = 100dps/230 gold = 0.43 => above average
Violet HP ratio = 850/230 x 0.1 = 0.37 ==> poor

usually :
0-0.35 = useless
0.35-0.4 = poor
0.4 = average
0.45 = good
0.5 = very good

for Mudman:
Hp ratio = very good
dps = poor/average
overall = good

for Oceana:
HP = poor/useless
Dps = very good
overall = good/above average

Please fix dragon's turn rate and attack point. They are almost unable to attack cause they turn and prepare for attack all the time without actually shooting a single time.


if you played Dota, you will know Twin head Dragon have faster turn rate than most of other hero.

but it still make you "feel" it turn slow, but it is not. because the model look 10x bigger than other.

in 3.4/3.41, all dragon have 0.1 turn rate/attack point.

after wave start, all fighters change owner to "East Legion" or "West Legion", so it not longer belong to player and you can't control it.

if player can control it, then someone will move fighter around and "kite" the creep for hours without leaked, while other player have to waiting for hours per wave.

every unit have "priority" value set by me, this value is used by AI to decide which target to attack.

summon used to be high and die first, now I set them same as creep so range summon usually die last.

retreat is silly, because it will cause lots of uncertain, include pathing/stuck problem
