Jungle Trolls Reborn is a survival / base building game in which you control

Yes - just gather 4 Troll Meat, 2 Bone, 1 Skull and 6 Voodoo Scriptures (from the Totem).
But this way you revive only a troll zombie, not the player. The zombie can use some simple weapons and instruments and you may use it to chop trees or gather stone - or fight, of course. It isn't very strong anyway.

Ah thats where I got stuck I used only one bone.
So you can have a zombie version of yourself and a normal version of yourself at the same time... interesting

I started playing JTR 2 days ago and I have one question, I would appreciate if someone can help me :)


When I pick Troll Warrior and make Stone Axe it says that with it I can cut trees, but I don't actually know how to do that(where to click), I tried everything and failed every time... Do I have to find specific tree or every tree can be cut down?

Guys please help me, I really want to play this game :)

any ideas in multiple saves
The only thing you can do currently is quit the game after saving and then load the saved game. From there you can save ONE TIME again.

I can cut trees, but I don't actually know how to do that(where to click), I tried everything and failed every time..
As the TOOLTIP says you have to ATTACK trees to cut them. Since you are attacking doodads you have to order your unit to attack, so either you use the ATTACK ability or the hotkey (A). Rightclick only works with units if they are hostile.

I just downloaded Jungle Trolls to play again after 1 year. For my disappointment, the map didnt work for 1.26 patch ...
Works perfect for everyone else with 1.26 TFT. Please provide information about what version you have downloaded or how the map doesn't work.

lol i wasn't actually offering to create a supporter signature, more like offering to help you choose background, borders etc. but sure i could try to make a supporter signature since i have A LOT of free time:p

also here, this is the best possible option to avoid future unprotection of your map:p

i checked out your google site and on playgrounds you say Garena Group 54838 is for JTR but it's full:(
is it possible to create a seconday JTR Group? for the JTR players(including me) that didn't have the chance to join that group...

Vex's Optimizer is already used, it won't prevent people from unprotecting the map and adding cheats.

Already thought about the problem with the groupsize, in the long run maybe an IRC Channel is preferreable.

Heh, I have said it many times - Warcraft just wasn't built for this. Jungle Trolls is extended in so many aspects far over the normal limits that it would be really strange if it meets the Wc3 requirements.
It cannot provide any amazing graphical effects. But as some genius said - playing video games for the graphics is like watching porn for the story XD

Hi after some time; nice to see the boat working and tents providing sleep only after being fully built :)

Theres a small bug though: the building percent numbers are visible to all, even on undiscovered map. Might help others find your base if they are lucky.

Then some ranting :) :

Why in the name of troll godz did you give a cooldown to Arcanums?! You made the shaman into the crappy classical hit and run mage :( cast Lightning from arcanum, Wand spell and RUN... Did he really need nerfing?

And then, please remove the poison gas + grenade combo, its totally op. Whenever i play, some inventor comes to our base and destroys all buildings in an instant.. Or is there a simple protection against that?

Hi, im old JTR fans and just started playing again yesterday.
talking about perks, how can I achieve level 3 in mining since I've tried to destroy all mining place in single player yet still level 2 in mining (around 30%). I havent really know about how the achievements level system work, but I think current experience to reach higher level of achievements is way too hard.

What are gold rock and diamond use for? just for selling purpose? it might be great if they can be used for upgrading equip or crafting something unique. or you can replace the gold rock with other minerals like ruby, sapphire, and emerald.

Another suggestion is warrior's leap skill. it just kinda weird that he can leap through an object such a tree. I would suggest change it into charging skill instead of blinking skill, so he wont pass through an object.

Yes, that mining achievement is a bit off to be of any big help, but imo thats better than dropping a rare resouce every second time.
The other achievements are mostly fine in my opinion, level 3 can be reached with all of them - only trapper and the tower ability seem to be a bit askew too.

Just a hint about the warrior ability, it's called "leap" for a reason.

Some suggestions

Hello,


here are some suggestions that may help improve the map:


1. Forge and cauldron:

to be more realistic they should be used when fired by tinder/stick/oil/fuel giving them different energy / heat time. (Currently they provide infinite heat/cook for entire game, both are not affected by rain/wind and this removes the effects of weather. Also cooking is done without need for energy source).
They can be made as upgrade to the firecamp (can be placed directly on it or firecamp can be included in recipe).
Forge can be made to cook meat as firecamp.
Cauldron can provide heat when it is on and in this way some classes can use only cauldron or forge in early game for combined heat / cooking.


2. New things:

*Bottle:

It can be used for storing mineral water / hot water from cauldron and to restore heat / energy / life. Quest for mana stone can be completed with this bottle instead of trout. It can have 3 - 5 charges and can be smelted in forge. Also it can store some potions but maybe some option for load unload (disassemble) has to be implemented to be effective.


*Horse:

Horse model can be implemented. In order not to be infinite it can have 3 levels and use energy as all animals (levels can affect slots on the horse- 3/4/6). The troll merchant can have some small stables around to sell horses and deer. Or some reward from troll chief can give horse unit.

Note: to prevent sitting at base and gathering all map items with horse / deer their inventory can be made to be used only when next to a troll (if it is not too much modifications of triggers).


*Venom:

Slow poison venom can be dropped from poisonous frogs.
Also some energy draining venom from mushrooms or thorns(vines) can be created.
Combinations of health / energy / slow poison can be made in cauldron.

Sarbacane is currently used only with fish bone/venom. Some darts can be made from bone or the poisonous vines can provide some ammo.



*Troll merchant:

It could be useful if there is a possibility to buy some skins from the troll merchant, but only if they have been sold from other trolls (if you sell a skin in merchant shop it goes to the troll merchant in center of map).
Also visible location around troll chief and merchant to be less in range so not to show when other trolls are using them.


*Traps:

Traps should remain visible and still active after triggered and they can be destroyed / packed by owner. Envenom can be used on traps too.


*Iron dagger/spear
Critical hits on daggers can be made with higher chance and less multiply so not to have too high critical.


*Dust of appearance:

can be smelted in forge or tannery.

*Torches and firecamps can provide passive neutral light and invisible units within range should be revealed to all. Also they should be neutral and can be packed (put fire out) by all trolls after some channeling (10 seconds).

Sir, we have a site wherein trolls, like gadina and me stay. You can visit it and see updates, suggests, say bugs or anything! And oh, most of the troll players are there. :ogre_hurrhurr:

Anyways I think gadina is working for 5.5, since he updated it on the site! I even posted there. YEAAAA :ogre_datass:

5.5 Test 1

-After day 7 if no one touch the frolls and their villages, the game become really spike (all player experiencing the same). May be you should limit the froll's population.

-Sometimes froll villages are spawn or built in an unreachable area (eg. hills or sea), I dont know whether this is intended or not.

-Rocket missile from Inventor Workshop only produces 1 missile instead of 3 (based on the description, it should produce 3 stacks)

-I launched a bomb from a cataplut to the enemy base and BOOM! Fatal Error!!

-just saying, it can be a cool idea 2 make the troll inventor be able 2 make something like a little slow scrap machine helper or something like that.
A little piece of junk that carries things 4 him and maybe make the little machine immune 2 magic will make it more realistic that sounds cool 2 add if you want.
-also a tool 2 help plants grow faster?(i always want something like that)
-a big Fuking bomb? with a long string 2 fuse and 100% made of TNT?

Great WOrk with the bottle thats a great idea, really its so damn perfect but....
I was thinking the bottle idea can be better...
If you make it able 2 work only if you give it items 2 burn like "the camp fire" so the "bottle" isnt Over Powered
i dont understand something, its a building or an item? or can be both? like a glass container 4 Water so you dont need 2 go to the hot water springs 2 fill bottles...
and maybe add a River water purification or something like that...
so you dont have filled bottles 2 restore your "stats" all the time, every time you want, instantly if you are close 2 a river -_-
:thumbs_up: so you must purificate the water in the Glass container placeing wood 2 turn it on or something like that :grin:

Played this map on solo multi for 8(!) hours straight until I noticed the sun was already rising from my bedroom window lol. Surviving in the jungle is a real challenge, but ultimately satisfying once you get the hang of things. Thank you very much for a wonderful map!

Now if only I could find a group of players to play this game with...

on-topic:
There was that one time, that i was playing as Shaman and my heat didn't have a limit, i had over 300 heat lol, unfortunately i didn't record it or take a screenshot and i have no idea how i did that:(

Spell book of Vanish, what's the use of becoming invisible if all Animals and Trolls have the "Stumble Upon" ability? perhaps lower the range or remove that ability completely? or make it a class-only Ability, like for Hunter only?

Spell book of Mirror Images, they only last for 10 seconds and don't deal any damage at all, can't they be changed to deal at least 25% damage or something? currently they are good at tanking big animals like bears but the aren't really useful.

When game starts, at the point where the Difficulty Chooser spawns there is some minor lag, that is caused by not pre-loading the model, you could just have it there when game starts instead of spawning it, that will remove the minor lag when the unit is spawned.

Randomizing a Spellbook, isn't it possible to make us able to choose the spell book we want? since there are times that you just random a bad spell like malaria and it takes some time to make a new spellbook >_<

When having a fever, does sneezing reveal you to all the players regardless of distance? that is a bit bad IMO, since irl you can't hear somebody sneezing from a far away place, perhaps change the distance which people hear the sneezing to something like 5000-6500? it's still pretty good and it will still reveal you if there are any nearby enemies.

well that's all for now, i will be coming here often suggesting ideas/telling you things that bother me/bug reporting, good luck with the progress of the map!:)

i forgot to mention another thing, when a Storm comes(high wind) i drop to 5FPS:S
although I do have a low-end machine...AMD V160 Processor 2.40GHz(single core) & 3GB RAM, guess the problem is the slow CPU?
anyway it's too much lag, isn't there a weaker wind weather effect? I would appreciate it if you could use that one instead.

EDIT 2:
I was thinking, weapons armors and boots take valuable slots in our Inventory, having boots weapon and armor leaves us with only 3 Item Slots when wondering the jungle trying to collect or steal items, you could possibly create some sort of custom equipment system like the one by The_Witcher which doesn't use any Inventory slots at all, please consider this, it will be a HUGE improvement in JTR, or since we need the items in our inventory to cast the abilities how about making a sort of "Bag" system for putting in there the Common Items?(Wood Stone Flint Tinder) and maybe for Shaman a special bag for putting all the Herbs.

I'm back.
I don't know though how much time would I be able to put into map development, but I'll try to at least finish version 5.5. There are some nasty multiplayer crashes there caused by an unknown (for now) reason.

Xorkatoss, the limitless food/heat bug happens sometimes. No known reason for it :/
Vanish/Invisibility book has its uses, though it might not be very useful at game start.
Mirror Images is a great book for hunting. It drives the beast mad, because it aggroes it all the time between targets. This works against bosses too.
The lag at diff chooser spawning is not only because of that - at this time a huge amount of functions are being loaded for each player.
Choosing a spellbook - maybe you're right.
Sneezing reveals your location only to nearby players in a certain range - maybe 2000-3000, I don't remember the exact value.
The storm animation is heavy, but I think you could decrease your Wc3 video settings to disable loading it.
An inventory system - yes, this is an old idea, but it would require changing the way how ALL the weapons in game do work, so probably it won't happen.

Is it a coincidence that both Cruiser Command's and Jungle Trolls' development revived? :)

Regarding inventory expansions requests or "bag systems": 6 slots (24 for full team) are enough and having tamed/zombified antelope(s) and boat adds even more.
If weapons, armor and boots take valuable slots in your Inventory when you're foraging, then maybe the right idea is to unequip armor, weapons and boots. JTR isn't WoW®, you don't carry everything everywhere. Let me remind of ITT, which had even less than 6 slots.

Let random shaman book be random. If you're stuck to certain spell book - you're bad zul-troll. Next request you'll see will be non-random voodoo doll effects.

The prayer of rain' tooltip says that trolls loose heat at the night. Is it a copy-paste typo, or rain really has something to do with the night? And more about heat: does setting your troll on fire (from molotov) actually heats him up?

Tribes start with a Totem and lose the game if it is destroyed - totally dislike this feature. Having no totem at all is ok - allows wandering and invading foreign islands. Setting totem as a main item would change the game into base-sitting tower defense type.

Yes, being wet makes slightly worse the heat loss at night and pauses heat regeneration at day. Heating up when on fire... Yes, could be realistic (or maybe not), but I don't want to experiment with those delicate triggers right now.

The Totem as a victory condition is actually quite necessary in order to give the gameplay more purpose. Otherwise the games may become way too long and they even can be boring - you cannot easily find and kill all enemy players. Sometimes it is even impossible to kill an experienced player! I have seen a Shaman with Arcanum of Shadow who couldn't be killed even in a revealed map - he was just becoming invisible, blinking and teleporting around all the map and no one could catch him.
So if we need something to put some limits to the game, the Totem is the perfect choice. It was anyway the first target the players try to destroy when they attacked an enemy base - because of its importance for the whole tribe.
On the other hand, the Totem is a nice addition at game start. It doesn't give quite good bonuses to survival or to base development, but it serves well as a buffer between the tribe and accidental deaths. Mistakes are still being payed for - they cost the tribe some totem mana, but as a whole the totem allows faster tribe development, because there aren't situations where a ghost loses a whole day in desperate wandering in attempt to find some mana stone for a totem. Well, it was nice, but for some reasons I prefer to encourage playing as a troll than playing as a ghost.

Seggestion,

for antelope, can you increase speed by 3x-5x, reduce hp(enough so 1-3 hit of arrow or spear can kill), remove its ability to attack, and if you come 2units close to it, it runs from you (maybe in opposite direction).

its more realistic, it makes use of hunters net, and traps, requires more stragety to get food, and you don't have to lose hp getting food :D

same for boar can you take ability to attack and increase its speed, and just give it a charge ability (stuns 1.5 sec), so it attacks (ability) and runs and attacks (charge ability) again

you lose less hp, makes food harder to get, thus more realistic, use of tactics and team work to get food. because food = survival

or give then sprint ability and put on auto cast, so they run when attacked, but has cool down

Is that i using laptop caused the lag all the while i play this map ? Any solution to get rid of lagging? starting keep lag...
I only lag while i play this map even i host myself without players.

quick suggestion is it possible to replace people's attack (hot key A) with weapon they holding, e.g bow, using number pad 7 to attack a little annoying, and is it possible to reduce damage based on how far enemy is with bow,...seems soo easy to hunt with it.

these are just random suggestions that i come up with after long game...
