Overview
You are a DragonHawk Rider,
this is your final test as an apprentice.
Collect all 40 orbs around the map to win.
If you crash, you fail.
Achieve this in the quickest time possible, and post your score at DH-Beta-Score.tk
Features:

-Realistic flight system
-Specific height reaction
-Keyboard gameplay, no mouse required
-Interactive environment
Controls:

Esc to flap and increase your height
Left+Right to turn
Hit the ground, you crash and die
Objective:

Collect all 40 orbs around the map to win
Do not touch the ground, you will fail the test
Do this as fast as possible

Im currently trying to:
-Better terrain
-More orbs, some you must avoid, some you have to collect in order, to add more fun to the game, currently is a but dull.
-Timer/score system to compare with other people on the hive



This is my beta flight system
I made this map to test an idea i had
looks like it worked, but with some bugs, which, i intend to get rid of.

Willthealmighty - Explosions [sand and ice]
HorizonTal - Arrow Key movement system [green] [modified]\
Inverted - Multiboard Tutorial
Cyper95 - Continuous support and testing
Gamecrafter_DK - Continuous support and testing




-You loose 50 height/s instead of 100
-Flapping has a 2s cooldown
-Added a Multiboard [YAY, credits to: inverted]
-Added a score system + webpage


-Added Powerups
-Fixed attacking orbs bug
-Added a zepplin [for fun :)]

Quick Fix
-Fixed a bug where you dont win if you collect all orbs.

I had the 1 gold per orb and 40g = win but removed it while trying to
make a multiboard unsuccessfully :|


-Fixed a house attacking an orb bug :p
-Fixed spam flap and crash bug [thx to Septimus for finding it]
-Larger Map, slightly larger boundaries [thx Cyper95]
-No camera bug at the 'End of the world' [thx Cyper95]
-No 'End of the world' [thx Cyper95]

if this was a system, it goes to spell section.
originally it was just a test, but now that its worked, im gona try to make a mingame out of it.

i got drawn to this because you posted septim

VERY buggy. but still quite new-like, what about differing the height of the orbs?
yep it is unique :)
i was thinking about orb heights maybe even some dangerous orbs...

anyway ill try to update this today.

Please dont be deterred by the minimap, just download and try it.

-Terrain? Need drastic improvement
On its way, its hard to add doodads because of the flying unit, he flies through trees, im working on making the trees and rocks die when the units in range.
I thought it would be simple but it doesn't seem to work atm...

-I keep crashing even though I was flapping to the max =.=
You shouldent flap to the max, one you do go over 700-800 height, the game will push you down to 300-500. This is to prevent you from flying off the screen.

Also, the bug where if you dident move, the true height was not shown is now fixed.


The game is stilll a but boring, but ill add some other features soon

Cool idea, never thought about that ! :)
And for the terrian, rocks and trees ex.. Make them as units^^ Or add immolation that only damage destructibles to the flying unit when its flying low.

mm
ill still have to add height dmg adjustments but it might work better that the doodad triggers.

this will definitely work, same system as the orbs.

I've found these bugs;

1 - When you bump against the outern border, you can just press left or right, and your dragonhawk can fly extremely far in no time, along the border...

2 - When underneath an orb, and you fly up, it doesn't register that you catch it, even though you fly right through it.

a suggestion;
add a first person camera, or a camera just behind the dragonhawk, or the ability to cycle between the cameras.

1- thats probably the bug of the movement system, ill add path blockers.
2-im not sure how i can fix that, i can make it regester orbs that are 100 height above you, but that will apply always..
i have an idea though, ill test it out.

tha camera, i have to stick with this camera because of the small map size, the camera any higher looks out to the black space...

ill try to adjust that aswell,

I tried it, i spammed esc, i did go over the border, but i came down to 300-500 no crashing
any ideas?

ok just tried out in loading screen you should say what key you use to gain height and btw if you want try see if you can find a dragonhawk picture and use as loading screen
edit: after playing through i gotta say it gets boring btw when you are flying near the side the camera turns around really annoying

you took my map and edited it without my permission, the only thing you changed was to add 150 height every second, which defeats the purpose.

Also i would you to take down that map on Epicwar.com it is not my original, it is the one you edited.

Thanks for the offer but i would rather work alone on this.

Here is my review. I change styles quite a bit, but I think I'm happy with "Pros and Cons".

Pros:
-Quite fun to play, although can be challenging at times.
-Good use of arrow key events; you made the map single player to prevent the lag of Battle.net.

Cons:

-Computer player slots are open to human players. This doesn't have much to do with gameplay, but it gives your map an unprofessional look.
-Restart was not within the map. If you crash, you're forced to start the map over again.
-Terrain could use some work. The shore could be improved with some doodads of ship wrecks or shells, and the land definitely needs more tile variation.

Rating:
3.0 and recommended for approval

way more fun than before XD coz now it aint just land and sea the best part is when your flying into the doodads really good job but their still is that camera bug well i guess that because map is too small for that maybe you could make it a little bigger and then make the new space with terrain boundary(under the layer)(so its still the same terrain) coz its kinda annoying when flying in the sides i rate :infl_thumbs_up::infl_thumbs_up::infl_thumbs_up::infl_thumbs_up: also recommend for approval

-Restart, i might work on that a bit later, also you can just click restart once you loose it has very low restart time but i ca see why it would help.

-Terrain, im going to constantly work on this, dont worry, it will improve.

I can see why you game the map a 3, and i think its good for a beta, i have no doubt it will improve if i continue to work on it as i am now.

new terrain looks great download asap
edit: much better terrain than before really enjoyed it but when you got all orbs you dont win i think what you could do with that is: 1 orb=1 gold when you reach 40 gold=win i would give 4,5 but i just stay at four for now

also wondering why the minimap img doesent update on the hive now...
the map is much larger but its the same as the old ver.
And why are there 2 blue start positions D:

actually when i said it, it was clear i said " when you fly in the sides your camera gets turned" but you didnt fly far in no time that way so what he did is he fixed both of the things so you should be mentioned to yes to the end of the world but then i should get camera bug mention
