Wrath of the Chaos Dragon

Introduction

Wrath of the Chaos Dragon is a multiplayer Role Playing Game with a pure custom storyline. It can be played by four players maximum. The gameplay of this game is quite short and it has some puzzles, RPG-quest, mechanic-battles and some other systems which later will be explained. One reason of this game is to quickly build teamwork between the players in battles and puzzles.

Long ago, a war between the Ancient and Chaos happened and caused many destruction throughout the whole world. The Goddess created a dragon, The Ancient Dragon to stop the conflict between the Ancient and the Chaos. However, the only history left behind told the Ancient Dragon was defeated by another dragon. People named it the Chaos Dragon or the Divine Shadowfear from it being unstoppable and can devour everything into darkness. Failing to stop the conflict, the Chaos eventually won the war and conquer almost the world. Not long until a hero, blessed by the Goddess, saved the world from the oblivion of the Chaos.

Peace was restored slowly but some of Chaos still lingers in the world. Many years had passed since the end of Chaos. Many warriors had set out to defeated every lingering Chaos around the world but one is unstoppable, Divine Shadowfear which now sleeps quietly at the Ancient's throne.

In the Vulcan Human Kingdom, built shortly after the war and also the first human kingdom to be formed, had sent many armies and adventurers to slay Divine Shadowfear but none ever return. Not until a famous dragon hunter, Lion and his team came to serve the King to slay the dragon once and for all. The team set out to where the dragon sleeps and starts their journey there. At there, it begins the journey, and the truth of everything...
The Vulcan Kingdom is a human kingdom founded by King Valkan, a warrior who participated in the Ancient War. With his knowledge of ruling the kingdom, this kingdom became successful for 20 years until an incident or rebel broke out that caused King Valkan and his son to mysteriously disappear. King Valkan's brother, King Yuven later take over the throne and rule the throne wisely.

Yuven ruled the throne only for a few years. He brought the kingdom up, made it stronger than ever. He set out for a quest in search of his brother but it did not succeed. He later just return ruling the kingdom.

***One day, King Valkan's son came back. Yuven was delighted but there was no sign of his brother. Depressed, King Yuven died of sickness that night. King Valkan's son took the throne on the next day until now.

By King Valkan's son order to slay the Divine Shadowfear, he had sacrificed many souls. He only can trust the famous dragon hunter, Lion, in putting an end to the Ancient Shadow.
***Divine Shadowfear was a dragon created by Chaos to have it to fight with the Ancient Dragon. It has victory against it and lead Chaos and his army to victory in the Ancient War.

Divine Shadowfear helped Chaos more in destroying the other places for him until Chaos was defeated by a knight. Divine Shadowfear retreated back to the Ancient City where it stays forever.

After the threat of the knight was gone, the dragon now comes out to terrorize areas nearby. The story of this dragon spread over the world quickly and some brave warriors have tried to stop the dragon but failed.

There was rumour of sighting of King Valkan in the Ancient Shadow's lair.

Gameplay



The gameplay contains puzzles, quests, fully-custom scripted spells, and many more.

Characters
Player can pick any class/job they want but their character's story, names, etc. remains unchanged. Each job has its own special uses and have a job advancement as the players progress through the game.

Hero

Villain


Lion Renatus
The protagonist of this game. He is the most famous and skilled adventurer and dragon hunter in the Vulcan Kingdom. Because of that, he is arrogant and overconfident. One day, he was ordered to slay Divine Shadowfear and he accepts it willingly. But the quest was way harder than he thought.

Lion is a melee-attack units and is a Warrior job at the start of the game. His specialization includes light-based warrior, dark-based warrior or full, non-elemental warrior. Depends on the job, Lion can be a sub-supporter or a full DPS.

Omega
One of the main antagonist of this game. He is Chaos' Knight and now the founder of an operation, Discord Awakening, which is to awake and make discord rise into the world. He came to prevent Lion and his teammates to defeat Divine Shadowfear because he needed to use the dragon to achieve his ideal.​
Divine Shadowfear/ The Chaos Dragon
The corrupted dragon of Chaos' which is one of the most dangerous threat to the world. It was created in the Ancient Era and it can easily consumes everything into darkness. Its anger and hatred formed abilities for casting fire. Its awareness of Lion coming for it make it even more angrier.​

More list of characters will soon come.

Battle
In the battle gameplay, there are total of seven skills that can be obtained depends on what job the player pick. Each player will received 2 basic skills from the start of the game and the other 5 skills will depend on the job they pick.

As the player progress through the game, they will also receive skill enhancement that is also depends on the job the player picked.

The game battle gameplay will have "mechanics" and normal attacks is useless in the game as player's damage value will be low and required to use skill to highly damage enemies. Skills damage will depend on the percentage of the player's damage. In boss battles and some other battles will require the players to work together to do something in order to survive or gain advantages in the battle.

The game will also feature a custom elemental stat system. Elemental stat system is that each character can have elemental such as fire, water, light and many more. Some spells or abilities will have an elemental attribute and its damage is will include the unit's elemental damage.

In some part of the game, the game will have a third person camera view to limit the player's sight of the game. It will be use in puzzles mostly.

Great and promising RPG project you got here. The story seem to be a little common and you used the word "Chaos" too much as a name and even to depict ruin and such which confuses me a bit while reading it.

Anyway, I liked that there would be puzzles and a different kind of battle system (seeing that "mechanic-battle"). It seems this is what most RPGs nowadays misses and you could say even my own RPG project which is purely story and hack n slash driven (most likely are already common RPG mechanics). Props for you here

And that screenshot looks really awesome. You know, I do not see triggerer and coder people that much THAT are also great at terraining. Can I know how you made those platforms though? Thanks

Thanks for the review. I'm still planning the story and sorry with "Chaos" spam. I'll later fix it. :D

The platforms, I used models like Dalaran's double column and semicircle column and stacked them into that. Later I used some other tiles (Ruins Naga Circle for some of them) to quickly cover the hole in the middle. I also used alpha tile for the terrains :3

he use a noun as an adjective, it should be chaotic if used as an adjective. (the word chaos if you didnt get it)

edit: I am sorry for being a grammar nazi or whatever you want to call it, I normally don't comment on other english as mine is far from perfect. But I consider it a major mistake and it will give the map a bad first impression if it isnt correct.

Btw for the sky you could have used the Fogged Sky. It blends better with the terrain imo. Anyway looking good!

Hmm, then I'll add more in the second one :3 Well, the "Chaos" Dragon, a lot of games uses it as that.. Dun see anyone using Chaotic Dragon, so I followed them only :3 Well, I'm poor in grammar so sorry about that ><

Edit: Hmm, I kinda think it has no problems since it is just the name. Even everyone is using broken grammar in names so it doesn't matter.

The terrain looks pretty detailed enough but the angle for me looks messy, its not the terrain but the angle you've taken a picture in it or if it's not maybe the way you combined or mixed those doodads.

Good job anyway! Keep going.

But yes! It's exactly that. I feel that it needs more work. Anyway a WIP terrain it is, he has time for it:wink:

Done another part of the terrain for now :)

So I thought of changing the title, "Chaos Dragon" that is sounded a bit too normal or something. I wonder if it is okay if it is name "Ancient Shadow" to represent the Chaos Dragon.. :3

Thanks :) I've capture a screenshot of the entire map just to show the progress.. Only the top and the bottom left is roughly completed while the rest are just terrain test :p

I tried to make the orange square of the box to glow, like a magical rune activated so that's why the box float and stuff. :3 Probably I'll try to make it less disturbing then. :3

If you are still hesitating for your name you could try others things that the classical wrath of combined with chaos and dragon which are overrepresented in maps movies and games names maybe try chez (which is another way to say chaos if you have played the corresponding game who have made the orthographic error) and administrator (who is the modern dragon) and it would make wrath of the chez administrator (far less common than the name of this map) but anyway if you love buzzwords you can stick to your current title.
also if you put Ancient Shadow know that it is also an very common name (you surely know Frogger:Ancient Shadow which will make that the ones who will play the map will think it is a frogger)

Chez administrator sounds a bit too modern (modern dragon :p) and is kinda not right for the background of this story. This story is set in the old times like medieval times. But still thank you for helping. :) Appreciate it. Maybe when the time comes that I can think of a unique name for it. :)

I've been working slowly nowadays and I'm using more time to try to make this game better in the storyline, gameplay and terrains. So, after trying to think of the next terrain to make for a long time, I'd finally made this but what a slow progress OTL. By the way, terrain is almost halfway completed leaving behind around 6 more massive areas to terrain.

I've also been changing a lot of my storyline but I haven't update it in this thread. Maybe I will only update after I'm confident about it.

Thank you. Yes, I am using the transparent/ alpha tile in my terains. One of the nuisance stuff I face is to cover the side of another tile beside that alpha :p

The blur texture was actually HD before. I reduced its quality because I need extra space for scripts, extra models and at least a battle BGM if needed. I can "HD" it back if there is enough space for it.

I'd reduce a lot of texture quality in this map so it won't be as good as it can be.

Hmm, I looked back on my earlier concept and it was different from what I did. (I did the terrain without looking at it) It has no huge doodad beneath the platform so maybe I'll follow my previous concept and see how it will turn out.. I'll post it here again after I'm done.
