Seven years have passed after Illidan confronted the corrupted death knight, Arthas. The battle ended with Illidan's defeat, and the demon hunter took refuge in his mighty Black Citadel. While he was thinking that he was in security, a group of powerfuls humanoids opened a breach in the Twisting Nether, and it used it to travels to Outland. These creatures didn't seem to represent a threath at the beginning. But soon, they swarmed in mass throught the breach, and without any reason, attacked Illidan's troops in Shadowmoon Valley.
Illidan send his personnal disciple, Quel'dan, with an army of Blood Elves to protects the frontiers between Shadowmoon Valley and Terrokar Forest. But, as they were pushing towards the Breach, he sensed powerful magics emanating from it. Disobeying Illidan's orders, he went inside with this troops and closed the breach from the other side, preventing the others Illidaris from catching him...
The world he was in was very similar to Terrokar Forest : No wildlife, no plants... Only a never-ending darks lands...
Quel'dan and his troops managed to survive with rude efforts, and, after days of scouting, they discovered another part of the planet different from what they saw so far : it was covered with dark green forests and bushes , and they found a sign of wildlife.
They also discovered a groups of the mysterious creatures who attacked them in Outland. But this time, when they approached them, they didn't attack them, instead, one of them, who seemed to be the leader, talked with Quel'dar, and told him about the horrible story of his people.
"Long before, when the world was still young, the mighty Titans created life on this planet. We were amongst the many creatures they brought life to. Before their departure, Sargeras himself give us a fragment of his own body to us. But, after a very long time of peace, something horrible happened... The artefact began to darken slowly. Until, a day, he was completly dark, corrupting all the planet with it. The landscape became dark and desertic, my people was gifted with control over Shadow magic. Unfortunately, most of my people couldn't master this power... Some were driven in a endless madness, while other become simple Shadows, remaining invisible from the eyes of the others...
And the worst of all, the Burning Legion came here and are trying to retrieve the fragment of Sargeras, which would inevitably cause our death...
We first wanted to escape and take the artifact with us, but those of us who were corrupted stealed it from us, and are using it's powers to create breaches in the Twisting Nether.
Please Help us... Please help us to recover the artifact so my people can flee once and for all from this world..."
Quel'dan thought a moment, then said "We will help you !"

Warcraft IV - Wrath of Shadows will feature big improvements that weren't in Warcraft III: The Reign of Chaos and Warcraft III: The Frozen Throne. This includes minor changes to the gameplay and major ones, but the way they affect the gameplay will allow you to use even more diverse strategies than in the previous games.

Naval Units

Warcraft IV will features naval units, (ships, nagas, creeps etc...) not just in campaigns, but also in melee maps. The mod will features island maps where building ships is a necessity for victory.

Though I will not be offering my aid in making this (due to very sporadically making anything for Warcraft 3 now), I do wish you all the best with this mod and offer a bit of advice. Try not to bite off more than you can chew. Since you're editting the races, do those first before the campaign and only do one race at a time. If you overload yourself with work you'll burn out.

Do you want any ideas?

Not right now, but just keep checking the thread, maybe I could need it after ;)

Sounds promising, I'll try helping with ideas heh:)
Keep it up! I love these Warcraft expansion maps.

Thanks you for your support :)

Don't worry, I am actually working on the gameplay before starting the first campaign and I'm trying to finish all the triggers

Well there's no rule as to how many mods of a certain type you can have but just to be sure you are aware of Kingbdogz Edge of Eternity mod (to name but ONE example)?

I just think it'd be nice if everyone helped make one big war4 mod rather than all these little ones which realistically might never completed.

But best of luck anyhow, perhaps this will be one to see release ;P

Blank Boxes are spoilers, I just don't want to releases all the infos in a single time ^^
Nah, check it's moddb page:

www.moddb.com/mods/warcraft-iv-the-edge-of-eternity

But yeah that's my point, I'd rather have one complete one than 50 dead ones ^^
Yes, I agree, but you can be sure that my Mod is the second (after Edge of Eternity) warcraft IV project that lasted the most time
I am working on this from March 2010, Even if I had some problems or delays, I never abandonned the project
And 2 complete are better than one complete :D

The shamans will have a spellbook that contains 11 totems. He can cast one totems at a time. At level 5, he can cast 2 and 3 at level 10.
While Orbs, they aren't items, too. The shaman possesses a small ability to shows him the numbers of Orbs he possesses aswell seeing the orbs turning around the hero's body.

Man I just love these lore maps, hope to see this one completed, it has potential:)
Thank for your support
How about using a three worker system for Illidari?
I already thought of using two workers for the Illidari
The Mur'gul Slave harvests ressources slowly, but he is very cheap and easily massable
The Architect build and repair. He is very expensive, but to compensate this, he build structure faster than other races

Also, could you P.M me your e-mail, so I can contact you ?

MogulKahn --> of course, the old races will be completly redesigned and will features new heroes, units, buildings and even naval ships

I decided to shows you a small party of the Pact's Lore.

The Illidaris are waging war againt an army of mysterious creatures that appeared from Shadowmoon Valley. Blood Elves' Scouts reported that the monsters are coming from a dimensionnal portal they summoned and their spellcasters are holding it open while warriors are coming from it in swarms. Illidan decided to not close the portal, but instead, he told his warriors to kill these enemies and keep the portal open so he can step inside and claim the darks powers that these unknowns creatures are keeping safe.
The battle was coming to an end, when the Illidaris pushed to the portal, forcing their enemies to retreat back. Illidan himself was coming to inspect the dark magic they used to open portals to travel throught the endless Twisting Nether.
But a group of rebels blood elves were comploting to enter the portal and close it from the other side so they keep the artefact for themselves...

The rest will hopefully posted after.. Be patient :ogre_haosis:

EDIT : Another part

Jaen'thal and his renegades elves successed in entering the other side of the portal and close it before Illidan's fighters step inside. The world they are in seems different from what they have imaginated. It's a large and vast black desolated place. No plants seem to grow, except few rares trees. The land and the sky are darks, as if the shadows were the only rulers of this world... After three harshs days, trying to find any sign of wildlife to survive, Jaen'thal and his servants found a small village habited by those who attacked the Illidaris. Throught, they seems to act differently and look more peaceful than the others...

No offense, but I hope you're not the one writing the final tooltips and cinematics. Your grammar needs some working on.
I must agree that english isn't my main language but I'm doing my best to make it read-able

The tooltips are simple but descriptive (a small description of the units + a overview of it's stats/skills)
The cinematics, well, to tells you the truth, they not finalized right now.

EDIT : I tried to correct some errors

Just because the many have no trouble, does not mean that the few should be expected to reach the same standards. Writing in another language can be very difficult.

Anyway, it seems you're making a nice bit of progress with this, keep up the good work.

Here is a part of the Pact Story...
If you don't want to read and want to discover everything while playing, just don't click on the "Show" button ^^

I tried to correct any spelling and grammar error I could found, if you spot a spelling error, please let me know

The second part of the Pact lore.
The united forces of the Eldraniths and the Blood Elves reinforced it’s ranks with the help of the powerful Shadows. With their helps, they were able to infiltrate the Corrupted Eldranith’s fortress and besiege it from the exterior and the interior. Their enemies were confused by such an attack that didn’t stand a chance against this powerful attack.
Wik’jar, the Eldranith’s king, aswell Quel’dan, retrieved the artifact. The blood elves were charged to channel its energies and use it to open a portal to another world. But, while they were channeling it, the spell was interrupted and the artifact becomes instable. What the Eldraniths faced centuries ago is going to happen against… But, this time, the planet was too weak to support it.
The artifact newly explosed, and the whole Blood Elves were transformed. Their skin become dark, and they lost their Arcane powers. They are now like the Eldraniths, masters of the shadows and the darkness.
Time was running short, and the planet is going to explode soon. In his precipitation, Quel’dan opened a portal to the first world that came to it’s mind : Azeroth. The united forces of the Blood Elves, Shadows and Eldranith, now known as the Pact of Darkness, travelled throught the portal and landed in Northrend…

This looks alright so far, keep up the good work!
Also, you might want to make certain stuff (Like races and storylines) more unique than the usual ones, as many people might've already used them.
But otherwise, it's really nice:)
Glad to see many Warcraft "expansion" maps going about.

Any updates/screenies?Oh and im thinking for applying for triggerer..if the place is vacant.
Yes, there is always a place for new members ;)
Do you trigger in JASS or GUI ?
Also, updates will come after the 3 June because the final exams are starting the 30 May. After this, there will be the summer's holidays where I will be able to truly work on the map :)

This is going to be very nice once completed . I have been waiting for something like this , if you need my trigger or balancing help , shoot me a PM or reply to me here and let me know what you need done .

I am a GUI user , I know a few JASS functions but nothing worth using . There is no limit as to what I can do in GUI . I'm actually pretty excited to work on this and see the final product , I'll be working vigilantly on this .

And one idea is that you should be able to play as the Lich King . Here are some ability suggestions for him:
Frost Nova (Maybe 25% increase on stats to be attuned for Lich King use)
Finger of Death
Aura of Blight (increase radius to cover a large area)
Summon Undead (calls upon several types of undead soldiers and summons them to battle)
Death Coil (maybe a damage increase ?)

Not open for further replies.
