I would like to personally thank everyone for casting their vote on the Merit Badge Poll. This award has been placed under the "Special Awards", just like the Medal of Honor and the User of the Year. Therefore, the community's contribution is very important to determine the quality ratio of our members. It has been decided among the staff that we will retain the first 6 of the poll and declare them winners of the Merit Badge. A few notes that you will have to keep in mind for future Merit Badge polls: The badge poll will be repeated every 6 months. This will give the users enough space to work on their sections more thoroughly and make their activity distinct and worthy of being mentioned. The badge should have a description, specifically destined for the nominated user. Hence, it will be divided into categories, that reflect the most common reasons for someone to be nominated: Community Excellence: Reflects ideal social skills and a bonding power that would bring peace even among the Horde and the Alliance. Great Assistant: Offers the best solution to other users, when all hope fades. Under the shell of assistance, lies a powerful knowledge in the fields. (This award is given to users in sections such as World Editor Help Zone, Triggers & Scripts, Artists' Corner, Starcraft 2 section, etc.) Glorious Artist: Inspiring skills of pure art that synthesize the best masterpieces on these forums. Grand Designer: This user is contributing in the technical aspect of the Hiveworkshop, offering additional utility to its users. Unlike other awards, such as Medal of Honor or User of the Year, this one does not refrain a winner of the poll to be nominated again in future polls. If a user wins a future poll again, their Merit Badge is upgraded by an additional level. Example: Merit Badge: Community Excellence (Level 7). The level up is completely visual, but it will motivate people that possess an equivalent award to work harder into that particular field. If a user has been nominated for two reasons, for instance both Glorious Artist and Great Assistant, only one of these issues will be visible. If he holds a level 2 Glorious Artist and a level 1 Great Assistant, the active one will be set to the Glorious Artist. If he holds equal levels of both issued reasons, then the latest poll will determine which one will be active. An amount of 5 reports that address the same user will result in the Merit Badge to be degraded by 1. The reports must be blatant violations of the Site's Rules. The above changes will be applied during the next poll.
