Since people told me that I need to work on the contrast and background separation from the object, I experimented a little and crafted this beauty.
Whale whale whale. What do we have here?
It was supposed to be a lantern, with a little Imp (or Gargoyle, as you wish) on the top. But it looks like a headpiece of Jaina's weapon.
So, um, I created alternate Brilliance Aura without even knowing what I was doing. Fuck logic.

I think it looks perfect as a lantern/post. I think it may be most useful as an item icon though.

The background is extremely bright, you can create a much warmer and realistic atmosphere. You might find it helpful to use reference images.

Yeah, I pretty much screwed up with colors, since this was meant to be a part of my new icon set (Elune's Moonchants). But it went up from blurry and detained purple/teal colors to this, so I decided to keep it this way. Oh, and it's lunar light, not regular, so I thought that bright moon colors would fit the theme. Oh well.
But I'm sure I can improve this (somehow), I just need more comments

Nice Icon. Needs a little bit improvement on Background Brightness, Contrast, and the Metal Parts of the lantern, make it more dark metal. I would say 9/10. Good job. Keep it up.

It does, but the purple background behind the actual light screws the whole feeling. You could try to create a fading effect on a black background, it would make the whole thing more dynamic aswell.

I like the light in the background, i'd only say the lantern's edges could be just a little brighter so that the light from the background actually affects the brightness of the lantern. Also it may appear a little weird that the light inside the lantern is actually not as bright as the one coming from the background.
