This thread is to discuss about anything related with the arena map project known as Dark Prophecy Arena.

The Dark Prophecy Arena, formerly known as the Daily Peon Arena, is a hero arena map which started 2 years ago in the summer of 2011 by Amargaard. Shortly after it started, the project leadership was granted to Legion_King. The arena stopped months after due to the reboot of the roleplay and was later resumed again, this time having both heroes from the old roleplay and the current one. The arena is since then being worked on and today the project leadership has been given to Azsure.

How big is the map? Is there one big arena, several small ones or a combination?

The map is 160x160.
The biggest platform is the main area where events take place, creeps spawn, and a few other purposes which will be mentioned in the main (previous) page later.
The northwestern platform is the hero selection area, the northeastern platform is the Sanctuary, the southeastern platform is a small PvP arena in which players fight every few minutes. There is also a southwestern platform which is not shown in the picture due to evil visual issues where bosses spawn.

Srsly? Heroes guard one building like in the center of the map from waves of monsters, they still buy items level up and shit, oh maybe we could make something like that icy map thats really popular but i forgot

Oh, wow. I love what you guys have done with the terrain. It's all very open and relatively good to look at, so kudos!

A hero defence would be pretty awesome. Might I suggest a re-enactment of one of Valorfist's defences against the orcs? Players have a small garrison in a rocky wasteland with scalable walls with them against the orcs?

How will specialisations work exactly? In Andorias' skill set, his Justice specialisation has a skill (Judgment) that has a chance of activating Hand of Light, which is in the Lightbringer specialisation.

Also, are initiate innate abilities or are they abilities players should use to initiate fights? If the former, I believe passives might be better suited. Al'ar, for example. Arcane Explosion (imho) isn't necessary since he has quite a lot of active damage-dealing abilities. It might be better to make it a damage-dealing passive, where every third spell will result in an explosion of damage (depending on the specialisation chosen).

In regarding wolfes post, you can chose from all 3 sets of specialization. Basically now they are 3 rows of spells from where you chose and make combinations of sets. Though in Al'ars case at the moment seems it is best to stick just to fire or frost while 4th tier spell i would chose arcane one and maybe 3 tier arcane one to as it lasts longer and is AoE while frost one is redundant if you go frost since most frost spells already slow and fire one is more useful if it is 1v1 but still good choice.

Initiate abilities are abilities hero start with initially and don't need to get skill point to use them. I am not sure but think you start with 0 and must do quests to actually get skills.

Al'ar actually use tier 1 (solo target) and tier 2 spells (AoE) to directly damage while tier 3 supposedly serves as type of crowd control or interruption (silence, stun and slow). Arcane explosion main purpose is not damage but actually the knock-back and I think it is only spell he has kept since the beginning (which is success considering this is I think 3rd hero system)

Seems reasonable, will read it more deeply later though, but you don't necessary need to add a history background behind them, anyway.

Also, I'd like to let it clear for the rest that I do not make JASS spells, so if any of you want a overly complicated ability, sorry, you'll have to go ask in the Spell Workshop or something and then send me the map where is it.
