People please test psionic blade spellsteal on as many spells as you can. It is a very large undertaking to test it completely when only being one person. Every little bit (ability steal) helps! And report the bug findings in the bug section :).

coz it's a her ~_~. She's at the gate. Most players don't see her because of the new free tp system, but if you run into mytargas like normal - she's right there.

I love that teleports are now integrated, but is there a way you have to walk/explore there first before you obtain it? Maybe like a waystone you touch and unlock and you can find waystones to teleport all over the world. Waystones could still have level restrictions as well if desired.

Ah I seee :( what if it were tied to a quest and only unlocked on your hero once quest completion(walking to the waystone), would that still require save code implementation?

Awesome idea!

I suggest slightly modified version: open waypoints when player accept quest in some areas, so it will be useful:
- Lighthouse (quest from lighthouse man)
- Tavern (innkeeper's quest)
- Trade route (Eist's quest)
- Crop fields (Bride ring quest)
- Capital (Class change prequest?)
- Lumberjack camp (Casimir's escort quest? Or first farming quest)
- Hills (Cobolds farm quest)
+ 4 waypoints for new content.

Hmm I suppose if the game detects quest completed/not completed, this would remove the need for saving the tp ability itself - instead creating it on completion of quest/detection of already completed on loaded character.

The problem is the removed exploration for people who stay "a little longer" in an area. Suddenly a new player, who should be immersed into the game by finding new areas on his own, will be encouraged to simply skip this part of the game which gives it vitality and excitement (especially) for new players. Another negative consequence is that it renders large parts of every area unused. Instead of people actually seeing all the beautiful terrain you (and the rest of the Gaias team) did they will, likely, see only the required percentage of it to progress. This makes the road to Mytargas, the bridge to the Foothills camp &, in a way, even the road to Riversdale redundant.

I suggest adding 3 quests:
1. Not a new quest, but a new integrated part of Willy Winka's quest. Now it also gives Riversdale tp on completion.

2. Quest from a guy at the Symbol of Fury (etc.) spirit guide camp. To go to Mytargas.

3. Quest from a guy in Mytargas to go to Foothills camp.

Perhaps the 2. & 3. quest givers could form a new 'Explorers' Guild' theme.

Tell me what you think. It make/may not be better -if it's a lot of work, it certainly isn't :).

Anyone else feel that enemies are super delayed in 1.2B? Like they stand around doing nothing for a bit after casting.

*Sigh* ... seriously, what is wrong with you guys giving insufficient information on bug reports? If you report a bug, give details that help me reproduce it... like ... mentioning which mobs were affected, for starters.

That's because every post here is not a bug report, first we have to see if other players are experiencing what we are, then consider it a bug with the map and not a personal problem. This is the version release thread not the bug report forum.

I get this issue with every mob that has a channeling cast spell, most noticeably the Hill Giant.

I checked it out in a singleplayer game and the hill giant seemed to behave normally for me (the small delay after shockwave is intentional).
I tried gnoll magis and the boar caster and they all casted continously without long delays.
Also, Gazrow seemed to behave normally.

Since when does Gazrow behave normally? That guy is crazy as f***..
I guess "normal within the scope of someone who occasionally drugs his minion and pulls out a flamethrower in a mine full of coal"... ;)

Current version seems stable enough for the bot. So feel free to update. ;)

Also, I fail to see the Ascii art in this... and I visit 4chan once a week... sooo...

@Z oh it just looked like a guy bent over to me last night for some reason or more. Nevermind my half-minded sleepy drunk gibbering. OK then I'll up the bots now. Does the extension pack need to installed be on the bots?

Also zwieb, remember that heavy skill suggestion post I made? It was supposed to be followed by a part 2/2 which was some kinda equally-long glossary for medieval war items I gathered from around the web mostly. I had prepared the post to some extent but it felt to me that the skill suggestions post was not well-received and just closed doors upon.. or just that it was maybe overkill or w/e for our community, so I kinda lost enthusiasm at that point in time and it got forgotten thru time. I just remembered again, and it's been gathering dust in my documents. If you want to go thru something similar to that part 1/2 post, tell me I'll refine and post it.

Muzzel I know we had some clash of opinions before, I'm sorry if it left any lasting hard feelings; but may I humbly ask what were all the parts you did in the original creation of the map? And do you still continue to hold a contributory role? I just did a 1-18 playthrough with the curiosity to see what the project looked so far with the intro and voice actings and what still after all these times strikes me with joy is the terrainting details. I felt a true appreciation was still overdue.

Did we? Honestly i dont remember. Anyway i don't bear grudges.

I have nothing to do with the extension package, but i claim to know a little bit about how wc3 maps and bots work so im pretty sure there is no need to install the package on the bot (and the faster the bot is ready the better, right?). About the terraining: if you ever saw any of my attempts to create terrain, you wouldn't doubt that gaias was terrained by someone far more skilled. I think my last contribution to the map was anomines spells ;) Or maybe crucify, no clue if zwieb used my code..

Oh good.
I didn't ask bcuz of the bots or the extension pack. Just adoring (again) the love put in the terrain.

I think my last contribution to the map was anomines spells ;)
lol cute. His voice and dialogue show him a tad too serious for the kind of mischievous cute wicked little shite that he is :D. "I like you, despite that" sounds like an English literature graduate speaking with a cup of coffee in his hand. You know back then when we just read the character dialogues to get the gist of what the quest wants, it wouldn't stand out but now that characters are finding real soul, I think some of the lines could use changes.

Well I guess I should really thank Shapy/Zwieb/Teh.Fellow for terraining from what the download page credits part says. It's just beautiful. Great folks you are. It's becoming practically godly, this project. And the pack has added more immersion value in ways nothing else could. I wish some of the voicers would put a bit more more soul into it, but Gillian and Lithis were veeeeery good.

The intro was in the true meaning of the adjective, "cinematic". Kinda out-of-this-world for Gaia. Made me feel the infinite lack of thing I wanna do and can't/haven't for Gaia's. Love how Jumbo followed thru with his inspiration and made the music addon, where I failed epically just mentioning it at some post years ago and leaving it at that. Makes me wanna hit myself on the forehead in shame. There aren't ever that many things in my life as passion-worthy as Gaia's ya know. And the cinematic music was marvelous but the guy's voice I found a bit over-serious for a narrative. Times like these you want people like Danny Glover from earthsea's beginning narrative or Morgan Freeman with his what you could call, gentle, un-hasted style of talking (lol muzzel; I don't mean these guys' narratives fits Gaia's. I mean, a more amiable, deep, immersive voice like theirs would.)

If Morgan Freeman knocks at my door demanding a voice-over role, I wouldn't turn him down. Though, considering he mostly plays the role of god in all kinds movies, he would probably have to dress girlish to voice Gaia at some point. And I'm pretty sure he would still look as cool as ever when doing that. ;)

@the credits issue:
Muzzel mostly contributed as a scripting consultant to me. At a lot of points, I asked for his oppinion on several systems and it lead me to improving lots of stuff. Also, some integral systems in the map had been made by him, like the backpack system, or the buff system I recently implemented.
Also, he did manage bot stuff in the past and it's nice to have someone of the original team still around.

At some point, I will probably remove the contribution of teh.fellow from the credits, though, considering most of the terrain he did on this game had been reworked many times already. Shapy was almost exclusively responsible for the Mytargas and farmland design (also parts of the floating islands), so he definitely deserves credits for that, considering Mytargas alone already covers a quarter of the map area.

Actually, the only map areas designed exclusively by me are the Foothills and mountain area. And larger parts of the Fjords region.
I like terraining for a change, but I often get frustrated with it. I wouldn't mind the contribution of another terrainer if I find one.
I prefer coding and modelling.

@Kyouzo: don't worry, I read your skill suggestions. Actually, several of your ideas influenced some of the newer skill designs so your work wasn't in vain. But as you guys know me, I almost never implement spell suggestions 1-by-1. I will, however, usually take inspiration for it, especially if they pinpoint issues I have with the class designs.

Are we really bashing Anomines voice actress here? How dare you; she is phenomenal and here voice is super cute! She absolutely nailed the "smartass brat" impression.

Confirmed zwieb crush on Anomines' voice actress.
Oh the astuteness! Totally agree. He stood up for herrrr :goblin_yeah: I'm so happy for you zwieb!

About my fave dude evah Anomines, I mean more for the lines, than the voice really. Hers is pretty good. Actually the only one that was odd and off by a mile or two was Beregost's. Felrah also was scary! And noooooooooo I'm not bashing! It's so not fair to think that way of me (well, it might be a little fair since I've been an arrogant jerk lately with my posts :D) but I love what you've done, and it's not just to criticize what you've gone through to make it happen with the resources you had at hand. I might try doing a little impression of the one or two people I thought their voices didn't match their faces and send it over to you, but I only know how to work with Audacity software atm. If that is even necessary in the first place ^__^

About the suggestion posts, well no one really said smthn like if this is part 1/2 then where is part 2/2 so I thought it was unnecessary or hated, even though I put a medium to high clump of time into it over the ages.

I start the bot with only me in it. 10/10 times desync on both dungeon and farm. I tried with another guy no probs. Btw my code won't load with -comp. I must have stayed away too long. It's from somewhere before the automatic stats version.

Fixed it by loading and resaving into 1.2A (13) and comping into 1.2B(4) but my assassin's ring from the quest is changed to petrified amulet.

Yeah there seems to be an issue if you try to solo start the bot. However, seeing as you can only solo start with admin rights and you can just go to multiplayer offline and solo start if you really want to - this doesn't seem like an issue worth addressing.

You can save in 1.2A(13) with your accessory in backpack or stash to avoid messing it up when u -comp in 1.2B. I don't think zwieb can fix that without causing some level of code wipe (not that I would object to that :p).

You only desync if you played another map before without restarting wc3. It has always been like that with advanced maps. Happens in other games aswell.
I restarted 7/10 times. Solo desync is just smth happening with this version afaik I have been solo starting bots to test different stuff.

The hp's are miserable on the autostat version. Solo farming mountain area is out of question for sorcerers unless they sleep every one mob. I can understand lowering atkspd and I'm all for it; but so much nerfing hp, just nah. 400 hp for shop, that's our common standard for andy fights from good old times. 500 is the one for garg cuz of its crit headbutts. I had 700 on bishop to support slower teams. It's sad, can't hps be improved?

I think it could be useful to use some EQ on the voice of the narrator.
I have the impression that the microphone was cutting the lower frequencies.
Here is an example (took me 5 minutes)

This has been discussed ad nauseum in the forums. I like the lower hp values in the game, gaias should be as challenging as possible imo. However, zwieb has stated that HP issues will be dealt with by items and not changing the current stat system.

On a different note, I'm really having trouble with this hexblade class in the endgame. She simply does not make enough threat. This may be because you have to sacrifice attack power for SP (crus doesn't have to do this), but I think the main reason is that she has no constant threat mechanic. Crusader has heroic presence and Monk has steel body. Hexblade either needs something like that or a major buff to distracting weapon (25% for a few attacks with that long cd even with the talent is silly).

Does anyone else have thoughts on high level hexblades? Note that you'd have to have played with a similarly levelled group, holding threat vs some lvl35 ungeared heroes is easy.

Same as Kamina. Hexblade threat gaining is an issue.

Also, I would like to suggest a decrease to 1200 range distance between owner and merc/minion before Teleport. This will fix the pathfinding issues in a meaningful way.

Box and I were discussing the threat issue last night, maybe if Distracting Weapon doesnt get consumed when ability damage ticks. Though I don't like the idea that the class needs a spell it can cast on others to generate aggro for itself.

Maybe a talent for Twisting Metal and Bursting Touch to generate a high amount of threat?

Or maybe a talent that converts some of your spellpower into a procc or just straight attackpower would be nice as well, like .5 of your Sp is now attackpower

Bursting Touch also needs something to make it viable lategame. Neither psion nor hex has good attack power for it. I'm thinking add an interrupt to it.

That sp conversion is too much like celestial zeal, we don't want hex to just become Crus 2.0.

Doesn't even feel like she's that tanky. She doesn't have something like Monk's evasion or squire's parry to fall back on. Imbue armor is pretty weak, good for a 2 attacks maybe from a boss.

Agreed on all fronts of hexblade tanking issues.

To add to semi issues with her, is she has no ability to create a large amount of threat quickly. If a Berserker runs in and uses revenge, it can take a hexblade quite a while to take lead aggro because she has no way of actually taking aggro.

The level 50 talent for Hexblade to turn binding chains into a damaging skill should be spellpower based instead of attackpower based. Like Kamina pointed out, a Hexblade isn't going to end up with a decent enough AP to bother with AP based skills (Its like a crusader using shield slam with celestial zeal on).

Also, I was thinking perhaps changing some skills to behave a little differently if a shield is equipped. Extra increased threat, and maybe some extra damage reduction?

Wow zwieb you really brought the nerfhammer down on garg fight. It's only slightly harder than bm now, was this intended? Bringing gargoyle in line with bm and alch? If so I really hope the next boss is coming some time in the foreseeable future :).

I thought about changing distracting weapon in a way that creates a high amount of threat on the first proc, then progressively less until the charges run out.
Something like +70% threat on the first attack, +60% on the second, etc. until 7 charges are depleted. It mathematically evens out to +35% threat over 7 charges.

This will even out over the cooldown of 60 seconds (30 attacks), which would equal a passive 8.2% threat bonus over it's cooldown. With 40 second cooldown talent (20 attacks), it would be relatively equal to 12.3% passive threat.

It would be slightly stronger than heroic presence in direct comparison. But I guess this is alright if we apply the logic that classes are balanced as a whole, not based on the individual skill.

it would also add a tactical component to the spell, in which you could try to deliver "hard hitters" on the first charges. It could also help a lot generating better snap aggro.
