The Hive Workshop allows you to use models and art from other games as long as the copyrights of those games are owned by Blizzard Entertainment.

The logic behind this is that, by law, you are not allowed to just take artistic property from other companies and use it in your games. Since Blizzard now deems that any StarCraft II (SC2) user-created maps are their property, using a model from, for example, a game made by Electronic Arts (EA) in a SC2 map is equivalent to Blizzard taking a model from EA and, without permission, using it in SC2. This would probably result in EA suing (taking legal action against) Blizzard.
Since Warcraft III and StarCraft II are both Blizzard games, Blizzard is most unlikely going to sue itself because you exported from one game to the other. The Hive has rejected exports from World of Warcraft until September 28 of 2011 because the legal agreement that you tick as read-and-acknowledged upon installation of any game by Blizzard states that you are not allowed to export from the game at all, but if Blizzard is not enforcing its own copyright rules within their games, then the Hive does not have a reason to.

The reason why wc3sear.ch is "dead" is because the quota of the website was over breached. The actual quota was 500 megabytes and the sites size was 7 gigabytes.
Since the webmaster Darky29 could not afford anymore webspace, I contacted VGsatomi (head administrator) and we set up a way for me to import the websites resources and forum posts to my site.
Since then, I am doing my best to live up to wc3sear.ch's quality and user comfort.

I, the webmaster have been talking to VGsatomi about wc3sear.ch. I heard he was soon going for army which let's wc3s (wc3sear.ch) stay without moderation. Another thing is that it's over it's quota which means you can't upload resources to it.
So I started contacting VG (VGsatomi) and he gave me access to the website so I started transferring the data from it. ATM we have only transferred the threads, posts and users. We tried transferring the models but after switching server, most of the preview images got lost. So ATM we are transferring files to the new server and the next thing on the list is to import the maps, then models, then I will finnish the icon section and start importing..

we are gonna import everything. Wc3s is not dead, it's just moved into a new world.

Users that have received reputation penalties at the Hive Workshop may have those penalties voided under certain circumstances.

If:

• You were awarded negative reputation.
• Your last "neg rep message" was made a long time ago.
• You have been behaving correctly for one month.
• You are currently active on the forums.

Depending on your current situation, you are eligible for canceling bad rep to -1 (if you had a lot of negative reputation) or to 0. Bad/negative reputation messages are like warnings: if you demonstrate that you have learned from them you can lose the negative rep.

Please describe your situation in detail. Include valid references and hyperlinks so that you and your conduct can be judged honestly.

Your account may have been set to subscribe to all the threads you reply to. This can get messy if you are a heavy poster. So let's disable subscriptions from future threads.

Go to this page and scroll down to "Default Thread Subscription Mode" and set it to "No email notification" or "Do not subscribe".
The option "No email notification" is recommended because you will not be emailed but you will be able to see the threads you have replied to in your User CP and that is a quite helpful way of keeping track of replies.

So now you won't receive emails from new threads but you still receive emails from the threads you already automatically subscribed to. So let's remove the current subscriptions. You can do that from this link.
