Pearce: Warcraft IV is “definitely something we would consider”

Blizzard co-founder Frank Pearce told VG247 as Games Convention that a fourth WarCraft game could be a next project for the firm, provided one of the company’s current teams was interested in making it.

“If there’s a team that’s passionate about doing another WarCraft RTS, then that’s definitely something we would consider,” he said.

Don’t get dressed up in your favourite orc costume just yet, though: Blizzard’s major development units are a tad busy at the moment.

“It’s nothing that we’re working on right now,” Pearce assured.

“We have development teams working on Wrath of the Lich King, StarCraft II, Diablo III, and when those teams are all off the projects they’re working on, they’ll be intimately involved in the the discussions about what’s next.”

Just imagine WarCraft IV, eh? Just imagine that.

I do hope they consider Warcraft IV, since Warcraft was their best creation so far, in my opinion.

i can say that i got informed about this in morning trough email which later has been posted on bigger game news boards and which is now a news.

Agreed with Rui, Warcraft is their best creation in my opinion too, since I don't like all this futurustic crap, well but that's me. (Diablo was also damn nice but no RTS).

Same for me.Warcraft is born like RTS and should return to be RTS.Also when the Starcraft II team finish game in November this year,the one RTS team will be used for general discussion about next game which will be warcraft which we will hear about 2009 July.

Still, Warcraft IV would be undeniable proof that there is a God. :p

I wish they would have considered this before starcraft 2. IMO warcraft is a much better story and personally i think fantasy RTS' are much better than futureistic ones.

I hope they will make Wc4 some day ! Wc is their best creation ever .
