Have you even been reading the thread? People have problems with EF and MH. Possibly DSG. As it stands, these users make the rest of the staff look bad. Hindy, Griffen, and Ash resigned because of the staff. Not because they were bored or didn't like it, but because they either had problems with these "other staff members" or how the site was managed. The latter has been changed (hopefully for the better) but the former still stands.

I'm talking about Earth-Fury, who, as far as I recall isn't at all active around the forums, let alone someone who moderates... anything. So, here's another thing I see quite to often:
Morning, small membership in the lobby (around 5-7 people), in comes a new guy. Asks a noob question. We send him away, E-F flames bitterly then disappears again. Comes in a smart new guy (in our case the user Draerlen), we start chatting, I see that he is a pretty awesome character, though new. In comes E-F RANDOMLY trolling Draerlen. Goes away. We continue on, I apologize to Draerlen for E-F's behavior via whisper. Minutes later, in he comes again randomly trolling and flaming and provoking the new user for each word he says without any justified reason! MIND YOU, HE'S WRONG EVEN! I know it, since the topic was software which I and Draerlen both understand better than him.
The end? Werewulf bans Draerlen for telling EF that his trolling is "pathetic"
- I receive that as flaming, frostwhisper - she says.
- And is EF immune just because he's your friend? - ask.
- Shut up. - she says.
... there you have it. An honest, good new user banned due to Earth-Fury's constant trolling, flaming, provoking and meaningless asshole-ish behavior. I do not condone this. I do not think that a user such as this should represent the Hive Workshop staff. To be, he deserves a strip of powers, and a good punishment. Let it be a ban/neg rep/infraction, you decide. I just want to see retribution for the sake of those newbies who are actually worth it. Like Draerlen.

Of course I have been reading the thread, and of course I'll look over the issues raised (seeing as they are all apparently in my new section anyways).
That was as much for future reference as anything, as well as a "stop whining about EF in such a manner, since it's useless and counterproductive" comment.
EF's a great staff guy, and while his chat powers are in question (He seems to admit he does abuse them a bit too much), I don't see a problem with the rest of him. While his moderation is sporadic, he does quite a bit when he does, and does an exceptional job of it at that.

In general it seems the amount of chat moderators is down to about six or so. This is not very many at all.

One's usually always in the channel, AFK or otherwise.
Why not just ding one of them (Though admittedly firefox blocks ding by default)?
Or, next time, as I keep saying, if you have a problem with someone, Copy+Paste the logs so Ralle can compare them to the site logs without having to read days worth of chat (or at least record the exact time at which it happened).
I mean really, can it be that hard?

If they're AFK, they won't get a little popup on their eye vision. So dinging doesn't often work.

Logging is one thing. Having a chat moderator around and not AFK when an argument erupts prevents the argument from turning into a flame war/etc. Logs can't do that.

I wouldn't know, since as I said FireFox blocks my popups, but I was under the impression it beeps (and pushes the window?).
That seems to be how it's used, anyways.

Fair enough. I guess the biggest problem with this is that no one's on in general at those times of day, however, I'll forward this to Ralle.

Logs aren't perfect, but they get the job done. It's not like we can always have an active chat mod in the site, unless you're expecting assigned time schedules, or a drastic increase in active chat mods.

The biggest problem is that these things often happen during the pits of the day, when there's pretty much no one on in general.

Arguments need people to keep going. Most of the arguments I've seen have at least 15-25 people, none of which are chat mods.

1. I banned Draerlen for him calling Earth-fury a pathetic prick. If you cant tell, THAT'S FLAMING.
2. I HAD A LONG TALK WITH YOU, I said i ban anyone if i find them breaking the rules, EF IS NOT IMMUNE as iv banned him numerous times for his disgusting behavior and i said that calmly and rationally. DO NOT PORTRAY ME AS A BLUNT BITCH.
3. I never said shutup, i said don't accuse me of being a bias bitch who has a case of favoritism, in other words don't accuse me of BS.
4. Being rude, i can tell ef off in my own private manner, i dont have to say it publicly, however he broke no rules besides the community friendliness rule and to my knowledge he was telling users OFF not trolling them, so yet again you are "DOIN IT WRUNG".
5. I like Draerlen, but in his case he was wrong, stop thinking I love EF so much I attack all he goes agaisnt and i kiss his ass.
5. Get your facts straight and don't start talking bullshit trying to evict people when you dont have proof, only a poor bias memory.

[12-06-43] frostwhisper: Earth-Fury, who's talking about trolling?
[12-07-10] Earth-Fury: frostwhisper, I may be a troll, but I'm hosting a contest and actually doing work? :P lol
[12-07-32] Earth-Fury: And, I'm not that much of a troll, dingus.
[12-07-37] frostwhisper: Well, you admit of being a troll...

[12-07-47] frostwhisper: So there...
[12-07-49] frostwhisper: Besides.
[12-07-56] frostwhisper: I have many friends here, mr. Fury. Which are quite fond of seeing me here.

[12-09-09] Earth-Fury: frostwhisper, who's flaming here? I'm simply stating an opinion.
[12-09-21] Earth-Fury: Traxamillion, that's because your IQ is less than 20.
[12-09-44] Traxamillion: no its because i like people who arent assholes
[12-09-56] Earth-Fury: then why do you like frost? xD
[12-10-20] Traxamillion: frost>EF
[12-10-57] Earth-Fury: Traxamillion, someone who doesn't hyphenate "aren't" isn't the kind of person I want liking me lol
[12-11-41] Traxamillion: Earth-Fury, its called internet chat not punctuation school
[12-12-04] Earth-Fury: ... The idiocy of that comment is lost on you, isn't it?

This part i like best. I was actually looking forward to seeing some of you in chat but since it's become a warzone, i'll stay out of it for a while.

Ok now,but please, calmly do not turn this thread into a warzone concerning Chat Room.
Let's avoid a forum-war and keep sudgesting rather than incriminating!

Ramen, wulf said that she's banned EF numerous times for that sort of behaviour.
frostwhisper:
I can see your point about EF on the chat. Either way, he's rather indispensible on the forums due to his knowledge, but he could indeed use a bit of talking to and more than a slap on the wrist if what you and Ramen, etc, claim about often things more trollish than that (that was walking right on the edge) come from him.
