I think marriage is an excuse for your wife to bitch at you even more when you break up.

Lol, a divorce after 35 years would be stupid. By that time you'd be a dried out old bag and could never get another woman.

Sadly, the direction of people who marry and then divorce really cause me to believe otherwise.

Ok, so you'd get a gold digger, even more reason to hate marriage or relationships in general.
I think the point here is that marriage should be something more than a piece of paper, but in modern society it isn't.

I find the comments of void rather saddening. If you marry a woman, you SHOULD love HER, not the piece of paper. I think it's a good thing and the people that are mature enough (as in, know it's not a bond to a piece of paper) to respect it as an important bond of soul are good people IMO.

Marriage is a sacrament that binds a man and woman together. The paper is proof of the marriage because we humans like documents. We like visible proof of things.

It's hardly (well, it isn't) religious any more. Anyhow, you'd think people would think before they married, but it's their choice. I suppose a certain percent of them are unforseeable.

Far too many people go into it thinking the other person will change, or has changed forever.
And it's still religious for me.
