I watched the Opening Cerimonies earlier today, 100 million dollar show, it was amazing. It should be mildly interesting. I hope Lithuania gets a medal in basketball this year. Canada usually takes homes some medals too.

Sigh, the Olympics aren't special anymore. They stopped being special a long time ago.
The only reason I watched the last Olympics was because it was in Greece. 'Twas a sad day in history when America didn't win the Basketball Gold Medal.
Anyway, I have no desire to watch this Olympics. Most of the time it's insanely boring. I watched part of the opening ceremony and it was alright. I didn't get to see it all so I can't really comment, but usually the most exciting part is the opening ceremony.
I appreciate all the hard work that the athletes from all nations put in, but it's just not all that exciting to me. I don't know why.

I'd say the highlight of the opening ceremony was the drum number. The rest of it had me expressing mild disinterest.

This year's Olympics are the best! Because it's in China! They spent over double time more money to Olympics than Greece! Wow!

What do you expect? Each year the spectacular factor of the opening ceremony is increased more and more. This year was a good example. The drums, the parchment and the torch at the end... Wow!

and China definitely has the ceromony for it. Chinese culture always demands huge cerimony, so they pulled out all the stops for this one. A HUNDRED million dollars. The fireworks were nuts too. Three hours worth of fireworks. God knows how much that cost, they were setting them off left right and center.
