KotOR_Nerd has little to show at this moment (1)

Warcraft Buildings...

We all know that Warcraft's World Editor is a very useful tool that we can use to do alot of things. It can make maps that aren't "Warcrafty" at all. Not in terms of storyline or custom models wielding Ak-47s but in terms of feel. Warcraft has that feel to it, that atmosphere that makes it so... special...

I am a fan of Blizzard's work as a whole. I like how they make their models, I like how they write their stories, I like their style in general.

As you may know (but you most likely don't...), I am making a campaign and I want to give it that "Warcrafty" touch.

*blah blah blah*

-goes to the point-

I was wondering what you prefer.

A) Go near the door and get teleported to an "indoor version"
B) Go through a hole and be in the house just like that

I was wondering because the warcraft 3 houses are quite small and I would find it akward to create BIG houses (like with the cathedrals, to make them realistic, you'd have to stretch them by the length and height then resize them to make them much bigger).

You might say "Do what your heart tells you !" (which I appreciate) but that's not what I'm looking for. I know I'll take the first one but I was just wondering what you thought.

Do what your heart tells you

If houses are that essential. Make a part of the map that is reused for every house. Then when you enter you have triggers to put in doodads and units to make every house "Different/special"

But yeah.....

Option B for me

However if you feel that you wont be able to create houses which look good and are big enough i wouldn't mind and do that A thing.

I would go with the A version.
Also have you tried using fading to make it more realistic.
Events unit enters region Your_Region_Name
Condition
Actions
Unit Pause entering unit
Fade in/out/in and out over desired_amount_of_sec using desired_effect
wait desired_amount_of_sec /2
Unit move instantly to House region
Camera pan to position of entering unit for owner of entering unit
Unit unpause entering unit

Just an suggestion try it, cause it is more realistic than just poping on the other side of the map in a sec.

Now step-by-step:
First you need an region and then when an unit enters the region you pause the entering unit and make the screen fade(try difrent fade shapes to see which suits your purpose) set the time of fading to an example 6 seconds then in the next action put wait for 3 seconds so that when you move and pan the camera the screen will be faded. You could use the fade out and in which is i think the best solution. The fading action is located in the Cinematic action group, that is Cinematic - Fade(not sure if it is exactly like this but it is in the Cinematic group 100%)

Im to the A Version.

Step 1.
Download the UTM Ultimate Terraining Map

Step 2.
Create a Building
Create a Region at the "Door" of the Building
Create a Region at the "House"

Step 3.
Entering Door
Events
Unit - A unit Enters Region Door <gen>
Conditions
Entering unit is an ally of "Your City People Here)
Actions
Wait 2.00 Seconds
Unit - Move unit Instantly to (Center of (Region House <gen>)
Camera - Pan Camera as neccesary to (Triggering Unit) over 1 Seconds

Well for me, it'd be Option B, but since you do not wish to "stretch or "scale" the building to make them feel more realistically in size, it has to be Option B. However, for option A there is a slight problem. For example in a town with like 25 houses, you need 25 "indoor" versions, which might take up much of the map size, leaving little place for other stuff. (On a small map this is.)
