Why all the furry hatred?

I have no qualms either...but I think if you are going to claim to be a dragon (no offense py, iris)...you should probably not be trouncing about with a story like,

"I am Dhanadar, I am a turquoise dragon, who breaths mystical leaves, and I remember in my past self's memories, that I was a prince of a kingdom on a world called, Agzanalod, in the Astral realm (east portion) It was a plains world where I could fly for endless distances above rolling grass, I had three tails, I was covered in fur (a furry dragon) and a massive set of wings like a hawks, and ate all kinds of fruits, and farmed the plains with my cat like claws."

It starts out relatively dragon like...albiet a bit far fetched, then it gets acid filled...eventually it will become a mary sue story.

Well, I don't do RP for one thing, and even still, why is that so weird to make up some background like that? It's... descriptive, for one thing.

A mary sue story is what much of Fan fiction is like. Essentially it was one way to tell if a person was a poser Elenari, it is also by definition in fanfic, what happens when the main character is perfect, and is based off the writer....Eragon for example....

Thats a mary sue. Usually in fanfic he doesnt die, but instead is saved in the last moment by either himself in an epic maneuver, or his worshiping groupies, (whom he saves at the end when they mess up), and gets the girl.

A Mary Sue is where the author inserts him or herself into the world and writes a story based around their selfish interaction with the characters. It's annoying and cliched. For example, someone will rewrite an entire year of Harry Potter to include themself, they will be perfect, have some unique power no one has ever heard of, and will be loved by all of the characters they love, and hated by all of the characters that they hate.

The stories really serve no purpose, and I find the more entertaining stories are the parodies that make fun of mary sues.

I agree, mostly because they are usually more believable, and more realistic (in the literary sense)

Yes, there was a very funny one in Harry Potter called "War Against the Sues" by an author called Prankaholic. It was hilarious, because it showed the flaws in the perfect stories that so often exist in Mary Sues.

Furry-ism is different, though. They wanna dress up as animals, power to them. They wanna go near yiff? Keep a safe distance please.

I honestly do not care if people pretend that they are something else (like a dragon ect). Even I do it sometimes, but not publiclly.

I find its ok as long as it does not get to stupid (where reptiles suddenly addopt purly mamalian characteristics) or too disgusting (what iristle sometimes does with her "crap" fetish).

Infact, no one should really care as long as they do not force you to do it when you clearly do not like to or want to.

Yeah...I usually seem to be right in the center of it too...

I dont really care about pretending either (I agree with DSG) As I do it myself (elves) and some may say I pretend too much, (I my self will admit I have pretended even unto the point of believing I am what I pretend to be.)

Though some of the more...risky...acts that some do. Like trying to fly. That is where you might want to rethink your actions.

The reason why furry are hatred is because people are kinda disgusted of anything that doesn't resemble them, every individual that is different = is hated.
