Is there other intelligent life in the universe?

Well, personally i find anything to do with Aliens or intelligent life very interesting, and i believe that there HAS to be intelligent beings in the universe other than ourselves, I've watched so many documentaries about aliens etc. that I've lost count, so I'm interested in knowing everyone else's opinion on this topic, please don't give a simple "no" answer, if you don't believe in this theory then explain why.

i would think it almost impossible for life not to exist outside earth.

in my opinion yes aliens do exsist.
two opinions based on what you believe in (so I wont get people arguing to be about different religions and such)
One:(you believe in god) Do you really believe God created the whole universe of billions apond billions apond billions of stars and planets and made one only one able to support intellagent beings. Highly unlikely.
Two:(you believe in evolution and big bang and stuff like that) in the big bang the universe was created it houses billions apond billions apond billions of stars and planets. Do you really believe out of all of those planets Only one was formed able to support inteligent beings. Highly unlikely.
based on this I believe there is aliens in this universe(or at the very less living life)

I believe that life beyond that of the tiny speck of humanity exists..yes, yes.

Given the size of the universe, it's extremely unlikely other 'intelligent' life does not exist.

I think we should send light curving around the black hole in the center of the galaxy, where aliens like me would look for such things.

Seems like it would make sense to use some place that the intelligent civilizations would know about.

I believe in extra terrestrial life, but do not think it is necessarily more intelligent then us.

From what I can gather, people have this belief that if there are aliens, they are smarter than us and are going to find us and kill us or help us. I think it is possible we are the ancient race of the universe and that as we expand into the universe we will find primitive races and kill them or help them.

Our planet has been giving off radio waves for at least 80 years (I think). Radio has been around since 1920 (correct me if I am wrong) and tv since 1950. This means that planets as far away as 80 light years should be able to pick up our signals. If they are out there, we should get their signals before they get ours.

I know there are some flaws in this because of Astrophysics and quantum mechanics but still to hear nothing in the time we have been listening seems very unlikely if something advanced is there.

As everyone well knows, I believe in God, (Christian) and I agree. Here is my view on the subject of God and intelligent life.

The Bible does not say that intelligent life (other than man) doesnt exist. Neither does it say they can't. I believe that God is an artist (afterall he is the creator) and being an artist, I believe that he would not have limited himself to just one planet of living races and animals.

I believe that God, also being a god of love, would have created many races to show his love for.

That is a brief synopsis of my opinion.

I believe Extra Terrestrials exist.

I also believe that they might not have a higher level of intelligence than us, but they may be more advanced.

The thing about radio waves is true, but there are probably other forms of sending signals that humans cannot currently utilise, and if these aliens have the use of something we cannot read, we could have been getting signals from them for extremely long ammounts of time.

If they would exist we would already be dead... i don't believe in extrateressial life.

Why would we be dead? We really aren't much of a threat to them, and there really is no need unless they can inhabit our planet, which they cannot due to having no immunity to our diseases.

The aliens that would make first contact would be scientists, who wouldn't be trying to destroy us.
If the technology were abundant enough for evil aliens to come here and destroy us, then we would have been undoubtedly contacted already.

If you believe endospermia, all planets could have the same diseases, assuming no evolution or significant adaptation.

For those of you who do not know, endospermia is an "Origins of life on Earth" belief. It basically says that asteroids/meteors had life on them, fell to Earth and started living here. It is an alternative to Spontaneous Generation for the first life on Earth and still follows the line of evolution.

If you are interested in a "Life came to Earth becaue of aliens in spaceships" try and find a copy of the book or DVD or The Chariot of the Gods. I pretty sure that is what it is called. It tries to prove all of Earth's gods are aliens and I think it also talks about the origins of life being endospermic.

The problem with any theory that says that life or civilization came from somewhere else, is that it fails to explain how that life got there in the first place. And if they could do it, why can't we?
