Personal Health, Fitness, and Diet
I'm extremely sure you all know about this. Dieting, working out, healthy foods, etc... - What do you think that makes you healthy? What qualifies you as healthy? Is it in your opinion or others?
- Do you think your diet would mean whether your fat, skinny, muscular? Do some combinations of food have diffrent affects, or is all lies?
- Would just having the right genes would affect your life?
- Would working out make a small or great impact? What type of workouts, how long.
- Are their other factors that affect us? Unexplainable things?
Honestly, I think I'm good as I am. Although as a teenager, I feel the urge to be more than I can be. I honestly have good genes for a extremely high metabolism. Dieting to me, is complete bullshit. If I had the choice of making healthy choices to live 6 months longer, but have little food, no taste, mabey disgusting. Or the choice of eating whatever I want, but not going overboard (I mean, it's common sense to eat some veggies, fat, sugar, meat, etc...). I would pick the eating whatever I want. Enjoying your life, is more important than worrying about what people think about you. I believe that you should do some workouts, but I mainly do it for fun. I do more of a martial arts type of thing, and I also noticed. That many people would count Martial Arts as a lower type of excercise than others. (Like walking 10 minutes would be more beneficial). Just to say, if you gone into sparring classes, with state/national ship trophies. Their kicks hurt like hell. Working about 2 hours a day. I do alot of excercise to keep my metablism high. Being equally fit has many advantages also. Such as doing jobs around the house, is extremely easy, even ones that would take 2-3 hours. I would feel like I did 50 push-ups. I guess going a little off-topic... but you get the point.

Dieting is the worst of them all. Starving yourself on some crazy diet IS NOT going to make you healthier. Unless you permanently change your eating habits (In which case it's not much of a diet), you will never do yourself any good. The worst is over 35 women who think they can lose 10 pounds in six days just in time for their vacation and then keep it off forever. DIETING WILL NOT KEEP THE WEIGHT OFF FOREVER. You will gain it back on unless you continue with the diet, which is most likely unhealthy. Really, you should only lose a maximum of 3 pounds a week. That's it. That's healthy weight loss. And all the pills, supplements and forumlas? Quit wasting your money on that shit, it's either fake ir incredibly bad for you.
As for myself? I'm very happy. I also have an extremely high metabolism, so I don't gain weight, at all. I don't play any organized sports, though sometimes I'll do track. I wanna take out a gym membership just because I figure I'll be able to get into wicked shape so easily if I do. I bike ocassionally too, which keep smy legs fit.
I'm healthy enough, but I could be healthier.

Well said about dieting... I bike every day and i love rowing(also do it every day in summer) but i'm not doing that to stay fit. When i'm on vacation, i usually visit an old lighthouse. There i can be alone and think for a while and it's very important for my mental stability. As for cycling, i do it for practical reasons eg. going to the store, when i go swimming, visiting friends etc. But i'm quite active. I also trained aikido till last year when my group was terminated(eh...) and i trained archery but i stopped for a while cause i could not get enough money for the equipment. Anyway, i do it for fun, not for muscles or health.

I have a pretty poor diet, I eat a lot of junk food. Not sure what I'm going to do when I move out. I guess I'll get my mom to freeze stuff for me. : )
I do get a fair bit of exercise though. I bike around since I have no car right now, and I play soccer a lot; I mean year round and almost daily.

Asian food for the most part is low-fat. Combine Korean food and walking around town(like you probably will if you live in S.Korea) and you'll be thin, if not fit.

People are too concerned about their health to enjoy life....
As the joke goes "If you don't drink, smoke, have sex with strangers, and do daredevil action, why on earth do you want to live until 120?"

The stuff you put through your mouth. Naturally, I think what you eat should be natural. After all, nature has worked for millions of years. If the ingredients on the label are long, it's probably more bad for you than good.

Technically the chemicals are natural (well, a bunch of natural things put together). Everything is natural. Just not everything is good for you.

I'll drink tap water cause it's directly connected to the wells(Croatia has loads of clean water :D) Anyway, nobody goes to a lake and drinks water from it, our body is no longer adapted to such things so you could easily get yourself a parasite or two...

Companies aren't interested in making people live longer, they are interested in money. A common way to make money with food is to add all kinds on things to trick your taste buds into thinking you like it. The things they put in, get past the FDA via money. You'd be a fool to think that anybody you don't know cares about you when there are 6 BILLION of us.

I'd rather drink form a natural spring. All kinds of healthy natural minerals that your body know how to absorb in that stuff.

Most diets are complete nonsense... Just live your life, eat whatever you want at each moment (with common sense, of course...) do some exersise (doesn't have to be in a gym, you can always play soccer or something) and enjoy everything you do. Works for me, anyways...
