Government change in Venezuela...how will it effect the world?

Currently Venezuela, will undergo a vote to decide about constitutional change from a Democracy, to a Communistic state.

What does this mean for Venezuela, and what does this mean for the rest of the world?

And what do you think about the possibility of change?

Well, America is going to have a panic attack since most people think that communism = USSR.
For Venezuela, we'll have to see. Most of the times communism doesn't work because people in general suck, even though it isn't that bad of a system.

It is a bad system, because of the nature of Humans. It would have to be a perfect world for communism to work. Or a really good leader, but I can't think of one moral/nice communist dictator.

As far as communism goes, I can't see that system going well under any circumstances... it's searching for a 'utopian' world, a sort of paradise which is unattainable anyway. Surely the system will fail sooner or later, and america will invade because of oil or some shiz like that :P

ok if it stays democracy then USA is cool but the communist countrys will pressure it and it will cave or there will be a war when USA doesen't like it.

If it goes communist there will be a reballion and USA will disapprove and attack.

So ether way its a lose lose situation though im still for democracy.

The communist countries will pressure it? How so?

The big communist countries like Korea will start pressuring it to become communist because they want countries to fall into what they are so it will get scared of getting crushed and switch to communist or a part of the population will get scared and a rebellion will happen.

Big Communist countries and Korea? Aren't we forgetting the biggest-baddest-most-red-up-in-the-head country on the planet? CHINA. China is basically the Communist super power that the USSR was back in the day. If there's any pressuring to be done, I assume that it would be China doing it.

As for a Communist government, things aren't that great in Venezuela as it is, and who knows, maybe a Communist government could improve things. It'd be far from perfect, but I have faith that if it got as crazy-out-of-hand as Mad Old Stalin, the US would step in and do something about it, or perhaps even a civil war.

Really it's a matter of choice. I don't think China has any major influence on non-Communist countries in terms of politics. China is the head-honcho-communisto, so they probably have some weight when other Communist countries are making decisions China is interested in. In terms of China pressuring a country to become Communist? I don't think so. As long as the US is the world superpower, they have the ultimate power. So, basically, as long as the US is around, China can't push anyone around.

In the future though, who knows. If the US steps off of the stage, and China or another Communist country steps up to the top, well, who knows how things would go.

Basically, i'm all for giving it a try, because I think that Venezuela might benefit from it, if that's what they want. It'd be different if they were being forced into a Communist government, but since it's their choice, i'm for it.

Yes we did. And they voted, their choice, this could be a good thing or a bad thing. Communism has it's flaws, but so does good old Democracy.
