Fearless
Now here is one for Medivh's Tower.
I've met nothing but opposition for this, so unless someone else agrees with me on this, don't overwhelm me maybe?
I have no fear. I used to have fear, but being human (the animal that defies instinct), I have removed all fear from myself.
1. What do you think I still fear?
2. What do you think I should fear?

fear that one day your hard drive will fail and all your illegal music will be gone....now that is a scary thought...
like, i dunno, fear of getting mugged or shot or something.
tbh, if you have no fear you are just reckless and stupid. its like those people who have that medical condition where they dont fear (im hoping i didnt make this condition up, might be confusing with the one where they cant feel pain) end up dying early because of it, or serverely injuring themselves.
anyways, you say you dont fear as an instinct thing, well that the biggest load of rubish because fear is a defensive mechanism only present in organisms with higher brain functions. if you have no fear you are pretty much dumbing yourself down.

I think it is actually pain that's the disorder, but your point remains.
It's not like I never had fear, but I don't have it anymore.

Defensive mechanism? That sounds like your talking about evolution, and is pretty much an instinct. If you can find a better word for what humans have instead of instincts, then I'd be happy to use it.
I'm not reckless or dumber because of it. I get along fine by just preferring not to die just yet.
When I die, I'm probably gonna say, "Dang. Oh well."

Fear is an emotional response to impending danger, that is tied to anxiety. Behavioral theorists, like Watson and Ekman, have both suggested that fear, along with a few other basic emotions (e.g., joy and anger), is a trait innate to most higher functioning organisms. [citation needed] Fear is a survival mechanism, and usually occurs in response to a specific negative stimulus.

It's not a matter of defying instinct. If you have no fear, you are simply a defective human being, which I'm sure you're not. If I came over to your house and aimed a gun at your head, you WILL be full of fear. I know that.

Fear for death?
I'd stop you because I want to survive.
I don't wanna just die for the heck of it.
I've got things to do.
But if I die, it doesn't matter.

Why would I want to die right now? I'm having fun.
And if I'm not, then I probably will later.
I don't care when I die. It'll happen sooner or later, and if given the choice, I choose later because life is full of fun.

Fear of death, fear of the unknown. Denying it doesn't make it any less apparent. I know you have fear. Making some pseudo philosophy against it won't change that.

Do you act on your instincts? All of them?
When thrown into water, your instinct is to push down on the water so you don't drown, and you'll try to get to land. When you learn to swim, you have removed the impulse to kick and push to get back to land.
Humans can defy impulse.

Fear would not be the pushing down of the water, fear would be the urge to push down on water. You will receive that urge either way, swim or not. It's the natural feeling you get due to the stimuli. Defying impulse would be ignoring that feeling and swimming. It would be ignoring your fear of the unknown and venturing into the woods.

Reason: Sounds more poetic without the second paragraph.

So your saying I'm only ignoring fear?
That's what humans can do.
It's not like I can turn off my nerves, but I can continue working out despite the pain, as if I have shut off my nerves.

Then it wouldn't be a lack of fear, it would simply be ignoring it, like you said.

Yes, but fear is completely within the mind, I don't feel what's called fear.

...yes you do. It's a basic emotion that if you don't feel, are simply a defective human being. There's a difference between ignoring something and not feeling something. I don't even think you are completely ignoring it to begin with, because the odds are most certainly against you.
