Elections
I want to hear your thoughts on the upcoming presidential elections.
I myself will be scared if McCain gets elected... everything he has promised is a total lie and I have a feeling he would end up like another Bush. Not to mention Palin...

My fear isn't McCain. Mccain is not gonna fix the bad decisions that were made the past 8 years. Not that that's good, but at least he won't screw up everything that's currently "ok". Palin is the one who would really, really screw up stuff.
As a sidenote to the topic: Medivh's tower or not, I think it isn't smart to discuss politics on the hive anyway.
As another sidenote: Since we're at Medivh's tower anyway, I expect the original post to be a little bit more expanded than it is currently.

I trust MT users not to get into a flame war.

Well if I had a choice of left or right... I'd pick middle.

McCain would at least not mess anything up more than it is. Obama would probably fix things a decent amount. Palin... ugh. She needs to stop opening her mouth during interviews. Biden... no idea. I'm not able to vote, so there's no sense in listening to whatever promises they spin at us.

I like Biden a lot. His speeches are really good and he's the only one who I think might actually do what he promises to do. And he has just as much experience as McCain.

Most stupid thing you can do. If you only listen to what they promise when they're getting elected, you're pretty easy to be manipulated. Listening to them NOW allows you to take things in account for the next elections, and allows you to compare things with "now" and "then".

(McCain) Do you mean his war record, that involves him staring at a wall in a prison camp for 6 years?

I'm not sure I'll be able to vote then either (I hope so, being a legal immingrant sucks for paperwork and bureaucracy), and I do pay attention to the overall schemes, but not the minutiae within.

I like Obama, mostly because he has provided us with real plans.
McCain on the other hand, has only made few plans and tells us what he "can" do,
not what he will do.

Less than Ron Paul.
And a lot less if you count lies as negative plans.

Ron Paul was good. He can't win though.

He doesn't need to win, he just needs enough votes.
Plus I can't support any other candidate, and that's what a vote is for.

I can't support McCain. Not with Palin.
But an article made an interesting point about Obama: How much change would we really see after 8 years of Obama as president?
To be honest, not much, at least compared to what he makes it sound like. He's acting like he'll revolutionize the US (which is actually good, mind you, it means he has smart plans), but how much will he change?
Another point against McCain/Palin:
Their supports are batshit insane.
