The big change

I do a lot of research on paranormal and mytology and pretty much everything so i've been studying prophecies of different cultures(Mayans, Aztecs, Norse myths, eastern cultures and some newer ideas) but the point is, in each culture, someone has predicted the year 2012 as a turning point in our civilization. I just saw it mentioned on the tv and it encouraged me to ask you for your oppinion. What do you think will happen or do you think something will happen? I think a sharp turn of the way most people think would be nice...

Not every culture. Just the Mayan calander saying 2012 is the start of a new age

Considering how many other ages that thing has been through, I'm gonna say we're fine

Actually, Mayans had 22 calendars and 5 breakpoints marked in them, and yes, 2012 is marked as well. Then there are old indian documents "Urema", u with 2 dots above, can't write it on this keyboard, they say a new regin begins o 2012. Also, Hopi indians say that world is going tochange then and some more important things. Scientists are beginning to see that there really is something coming. I do not believe in astrology but i am an amateur astronomer and it's my hobby to know some things connected to astrology so... after 230 000 000 years, our solar system's plane will be leveled with our galactic plane. I don't see the importance of it but astrologists say it's very bad. According to astrologists, i should have died 10 times before so... Anyway, lots of things will happen in 2012 so i find it interesting.

2030 were all dead anyways. Scientists tried to prove that the new ice age is coming 2030 and it will cover 2/3 of the Earth or something like that.

I'll be laughing when nothing happens in 2012. I kind of doubt we will all just die in a new ice age. Actually I kind of doubt that I'll see one in my life time.

And seeing as those other breakpoints have gone by nicely, I don't see why the next one should be any different

Astrology is a pseudo scientific thing. It's fake. It's false. You can't predict the future by any way other than blinding guessing things based on current trends or seeing something before it hits something else

The only times I care for astrology are when the stars align and Cthulu emerges from the depths to insert references to himself on the Internet

Anyway, lots of things will happen in 2012 so i find it interesting.

The next Olympics happens then. And boy are some people's faces gonna be red when there's no zombie apocalypse

Ah well, i am sceptical when it comes to it too but i still can't wait to see :P

If anything happens, then it may be relevant to my life.

If not, then it bears no meaning.

The only way to know for sure is by waiting 4 years.



I was watching something awhile back about people using the internet as a big fortune telling device, and it said something about 2012 being some major event. I wonder why it said that...

You cant take it seriusly, I mean, astrologists predicted the end of the world to happen every few years. and nothing ever happened, heck some of the "end of the world" year REALLY nothing happened. (youknow, something usually happens, because human kind sucks and we love to kill each other. but some of the "end dates" showed up without even a standard war.)

Everyone said the world would end with the Year 2000. Looks like Y2K never panned out. I don't see why this Mayan crap should either. You know what else is written in ancient texts? ALL KINDS OF SHIT. Does that make any of it true? I don't think so.

Specifically, 20 Dec 2012 (20.12.2012) or something, right? That's 2 days after my birthday, not to mention a "reason" to party like there is literally no tomorrow, so I'll be too partied out to care.

I don't believe in predetermined things, I don't think the world will end on the 20th of december, 2012. Life will go on, and the only thing that will change is what people think about Mayan ancient doomsday prophecies.

Technically its a wonder the world didn't end yet. (or at least the human race.)

Heck, we MIGHT all die in 20/12/2012, but on the same coin we might all die tommorow too from a nuke war/giant meteor/sun blowing up/black hole etc, etc, etc...

Stop thinking about it, it will only give you a headache.
