Zealot and Archon?

I saw in the site that they are copying the same units for Starcraft 2 and starcraft 1. Why would they do that when the rest of the units are different???

I saw they put death knights from warcraft 2 into warcraft 3. why would they do that if a bunch of other units are different?

It's not only about making new ones. It's about renovating the originals that you think of when you think starcraft. How do you think of starcraft without a fucking ling rush?

Death knights in wc3 and wc3 are quite different :p

On a more on-topic note, so? They're different (how the twilight archon is made + (maybe) feedback, and the zealot's charge), and since this is the same universe, their old, efficient war weapons/warriors would still be in use

Oh, and apparently the Twilight Archon is getting feedback (same one as the Dark Archon had in sc)

Old units are fine, but you have to give them something new.

Zealots get charge.
Zerglings get the rolling terrorist ability.
Marine... shields? I don't remember.

i personally don't think you can call it starcraft without a few recurring units. furthermore, most of the protoss units' names are titles given to things. like the templar caste, or the dark templars. dragoons were actual inventions to prolong the war life of zealots.

from a different stand point if they scrapped all the old units they might as well not even make it because they would lose there original fan base, so you always have to keep a few staples to attract the original players

by the way how many of you are going to camp out in front of Best Buy the day before SC2 comes out

idk im kinda pissed actually cause the races are loses what really made them cool like the 'toss almost pretty much became all dark 'toss but they realized it and removed tempest and sum1 said soul hunters too but the terrain used to be all about stick a gun on a P.O.S. vehicle made of scrap metal n pray you win.
And SC as a whole was all about the simplicity and making it look like this could be the future but now you look at the screen shots and the game is overly complex and it looks fantasy when you see terrain buildings with all rounded corners (like since when did the have the time to make all the supply depots rounded) and terrain are now the Mega race because Blizz gave all the other races unique traits to them like if you attach a power station add-on to a building and you can double que just like the zerg do and now terrain are rigged when it comes to land cause they got a Giant mech with like 9 BFGs while 'toss can reenact Independence Day with the huge lazer beam.

If you think that the starcraft storyline (SC2 or otherwise) is possible, well lets just say it explains ALOT. Starcraft is Sci-fi, Science FICTION <- means its false or unlikely to happen, therefore, they can make it so the earth grows a beard and makes love to the moon, its still sci-fi, believe me, there are even less likely sci-fi stories out there and honestly, in a game where marines EXPLODE when they die, realisim just isnt that much of an issue.

edit: when it comes to balance blizzard is probably the best people out there, don't woory, they'll make it work (and work WELL).

1.The first SC had only 2 dark templar units, and one came with the expansion. Wth is wrong with adding more?
2. "Oh dear lord! The supply depots are round! The sky is falling!"
3. When sci fi becomes more complex it moves away from fantasy.
4. Yeah, i hate the Thor and Mothership.
