Creeps

If memory serves me correctly, the first Starcraft offered little in the realm of creeps (if at all). They mostly just had units for the major powers in the game. From a modding standpoint creeps offer a great platform for inovation and creativity. In WIII the creeps are nearly as important as any of the playable races. Do you think there will be creeps in SII like there are in WIII?

If so, do you think they would offer previews of them like they have so far with the protoss and terran? Do you think they even have done any creeps so far? And if they decide to do creeps, what kind of creeps do you think they would have?

Just some of my ponderings on SII creeps.

Creeps in Starcraft wouldn't be too weird. They could the planet's original species.

Sorry but I hardly doubt there will be Creeps in this game, atleast not in melee maps. Maybe in the map editor there are possibilities to create Neutral Hostile and Neutral Passive units.

I remember they had critters. There was a scorpion one that I quite liked. I think it would be kind of difficult to get the creeps into the storyline. But the zerg did burrow (I think) into varioius species and adapted them into their own arsenal. Perhaps those original species could be creeps.

The zerg assimilate countless species into their race.

The problem with Creeps (in my opinnion) is that they wouldn't have much point. In WC 3 they could be used to exp heroes and such and they also protected gold mines. However as far as I know the only potential creeps that SC 2 could offer are animals, and they would most likely run away when an army of marines and tanks and such came rolling their way.

I hope they give critters attack animations (map making purposes) but I hope there will be no creeps.

Ugh, this is an old line, but this isn't Wc3 in space -.-

A) They would be sort of pointless

B) Do they really need to redo what another game with an entirely different story did just for the sake of doing it?

In SCII, judging by SC gameplay, creeps would be an annoyance and nothing more. (They also wouldn't last long vs any decent army)

And by answers from Karune , they simply won't be in SC2.
