Dawn and Twillight Dawn and Twilight is the name given to the Second Age of Eiroth. This name came from the dark ages on Laerdon, where the Twillight meant fear and Dawn meant hope and salvation, against the foul Black Orks. After the Cataclysm, the list of the Kan Dynasty's allies grows thin, as the Temorian Mountains close and the Earth Elves are nearly extinct. However, Men will find that they have more allies to count on than they think; the time of Wood Elves is approaching.

Races

Men
Were also known as Humans in the First Age. However, the word Humans was later used as a reference to mortals, so they started being called Men.

Men are usually intelligent beings with a well-built body, with avareage strength and dextery.
Their origin is not known, but it is known that there was a race of Men called High Men. These Men were much taller, stronger and intelligent than their lesser cousins. It appears these "High Men" were also responsible for teaching their cousins Holy/Light magic. However, the High Men were too few and they were eventually extinct, leaving their amazing well-built cities and towns to their lesser cousins, who happily took over the lost settlements.
However, shortly after the religion, Men's power over Light magic began to weaken. The once powerful magic that had been tought by their high cousins became one of the weakest types of magics ever learned by inhabitants of Eiroth.
Types/Races of Men
High Men: Stronger, taller and more intelligent than their Lesser cousins, the High Men seem to have disappeared around Year 200 of the First Age. They also seemed to live slightly longer. Their lesser cousins took over their cities and settlements, and a community that had learned Holy/Light magic started to teach and spread to the others of their kin.
The Silvercrest family is thought to be descendants of High Men, judging from Empress Marie Antoniette's ability to control Arcane Magic.

Lesser Men: All the races of Men who were not High Men were usually called Lesser Men.

Delarian Men: They were named Delarian Men because they resided in Delaria, the capital of the Kan Dynasty. It was one of the biggest cities built by the High Men. The inhabitants of Delaria fought for long against the Orcs who resided in Northridge. When the orcish clans united under a single banner calling themselves the Bloodgores, Delarian Men had no help from their Earth Elf allies and they were forced to stand alone. They almost perished, but fortunately, an unexpected help from the Foras Cult was sent, led by Eligos Flameseeker, and the War of the Four Rings was won by Men. Xingdao Fan then convinced Gar'darr, the orc leader, that the war between the two races was meaningless. Despite Gar'darr's deep hatred for Men, he accepted to have peace.
Shortly after this event, a plague started to spread in the north-west of Southridge, which quickly spread through the Hacksay and Fal'Dol and eventually reached Northridge. The north was the most affected due to the masses of slaughter and carnage that had occured after the uniting of the orc clans. The land was stained with blood, and it quickly fell to the hands of the minions of the plague. Dal'ragg, son of Gar'darr, took part of the Stormclaw Clan along with some Wild Orcs that had sought refuge and led them by boat to Birtha (known as Lithirion in the Second Age), due to the rumors that the plague originated from there. The Men of Delaria, led by Zagath and Thorgas, eventually met with the Orcs and with the help of the Jungle Trolls, they suceeded in finding the cure for the plague. The Orcs and Men travelled to Delaria, where alot of people were healed. The Orcs traveled to the north then, but before they could arrive, the minions of the plague struck Avalon, and Garr'dar was killed. Men then promised to help rid the north of the rest of the minions of the plague. However, they only partially helped in the Battle of Hope and Memory. Only a few Men, in the company of Darnath and Xingdao Fan, helped the Earth Elves and Moonfolk win the battle against the Forgotten and the Un'Oorg.
Later in the Second Age, Kelthas I and Field-Marshal Teago led riders to Northridge to aid the Northleger (or Army of the North), against the Black Orks. Kelthas I eventually died in this war, which was called War of Shadow and Light.

Silverglade Men: Men of Southridge who travelled to Northridge shortly after the Cataclysm.
They built Silverglade, which, under the leadership of Holrothin, resisted multiple attacks against the Black Orks.
They have formed an alliance with the Bloodgores (Orcs), Earth Elves and Gardor, being named the Northleger, or Army of the North afterwards.

Men of the West: Men of Birtha/Lithirion. They belonged to the Kan Dynasty. Their capital was Horlund which was situaded in the west south-west of Elanor. When Horlund was sieged by the Un'Oorg, Darnath arrived with horse riders (this was when Darnath first appeared). Murlocs of the eastern shores helped the Men of Horlund remove the corpses by eating them (they apparently appreciated the taste of Undead). An alliance was then formed between those two races. While the Murlocs traded fish to Men, Men traded salt to Murlocs.

Captain Scot's Men: These Men lived in Northridge, not far from Silverglade, but belonged to no faction. Their village was near a dangerous forest, crawled with Gnolls. They received a visit of Deago Greenthorn and Vanessa, two Wood Elves. Captain Scot, who was in charge of the village, saluted the unexpected visitors and invited them to eat at his home.
However, the War of Shadow and Light also affected this people. Black Orks found and attacked this town, and Cpt.Scot's men were forced to leave by boat. They eventually stopped by Delaria, and left to settle their new home in the south-eastern borders of Scutaria.

Aidothi: Wild race of Men, who was found often roaming the wilds during the First Age. A group of this race, led by Rill the Hunter welcomed the Moonfolk when they set foot on Northridge. The Moonfolk taught them how to use Celest magic. Rill and his aidothi also helped the Moonfolk when they were attacked by the forces of the Dreadlord Mightaridon.
On the Second Age, most Aidothi settled on north-eastern Southridge, and they built a settlement of their own, which was named Daxrag. They stood multiple attacks against the Black Orks, sworn enemies who came from the north. Rill also made part of the Diįrmand, but he died before the Diįrmand broke at Silverglade.

Orcs
Savage and proud creatures. They are among the strongest beings for their size. They are slightly taller than Men, between 1.50 - 2.25 meters tall.

Orcs were originated in Allthond: On Year 266, some Orcs departed to the west. More Orcs would eventually leave afterwards. They started to claim many areas, specially the Dark Valley.
Types/Races of Orcs
Allthond Orcs: They are not like their western cousins. These Orcs are more warthristy, but they became more peaceful with the alliance between their western cousins and Men. They still refuse to let Men enter their island, though. The Orcs of Allthond live only of their crops, planted in the fertile lands south of their islands. They also raise pigs, chickens and hens to provide a meat supply for their people. They also like to raise owls. The race of Owls they raise are very friendly towards them Orcs.

Bleakstare Clan Orcs: Orcs who belong to the Bleakstare Clan. Quote from the Faction List:
Quote:
The Bleakstare Clan was the fourth clan to be warned that Men were expanding and the Second Orcish Revolution would begin. At that time, Negal Bleakstare was in command. The Bleakstare was a famous Clan for their skill to tame the Rhinocerus of the Dark Valley. On the Second Age, the clan passed to the rule of Narash. It is believed Negal was killed during the Second Orcish Revolution.
On the Second Age, the Bleakstare Clan came to the help of the Warhunger Clan, but it was too late. They could, however, save Miria Eimadriel, Fathog Howlcry and Balin Warhunger from the hands of the Darraths. They then traveled to their clan encampment and resisted against various enemy attacks with the help of the Earth Elves, whom they had found in the way back. On the last attack to this camp, Dienor and a force of Wood Elves came to the help of the Bleakstare Orcs and helped hold the defenses of the River.
On the Time of Heroes, the Bleakstare Orcs were forced to abandon their camp, on the 27th March of Year 25, after they are helped by Wood Elves led by Anya Greenbow. The Bleakstare then traveled to Avalon to seek refuge.
Lokwrek Clan Orcs: Orcs from an island north-east of Northridge. They were skillfull in building small rafts. They were more vegetarian and they did not like wars. That's how they acquired the friendship of many wild creatures, such as Forest Trolls, Ogres, Ape Men and learned to communicate with them, along with teaching them the orcish language.

Stormclaw Clan Orcs: First clan ever formed by the Orcs of Allthond who traveled west. Quote from the Faction List:
Quote:
A clan of Shamans, the first to be formed when the Orcs departed to the west on Year 266. The Stormclaw were a clan who united most of the Orcs who came to the west. Many years later, the Orcs would eventually start splitting into other clans. After that period, the Shamans, found that they could store energy on crystals, and use that power to cast thunder magics. The clan was very small at that point, and not many knew the art of Shamanism. Gar'darr replaced the old chieftain when the same died, on Year 655. The Stormclaw Clan did not participe on the First Orcish Revolution, but they actually took the first step for the Second Orcish Revolution. After uniting the orc clans under a single banner, the Bloodgores, the Men of Fal'Dol were wiped out and Avalon itself was taken. On 5th March of 694 of the First Age, Gar'darr died and the chieftainship and title of Warchief was passed to his son, Dal'ragg.
On the Second Age, the Stormclaw Clan kept Avalon and the Stormthrone. However, the Stormthrone was taken on the 9th October of Year 14. DC, Vanessa and Hara were thrown to water bound by rocks. The high shaman died with the standard of the Bloodgores sticked in his body. Avalon was taken on the 6th August of Year 17 and Dal'Ragg killed. The remaining Stormclaw Orcs ran to Silverglade. But we could consider the Stormclaw Clan dead.
The Stormclaw Clan possess a relic called The Stormclaw, which could easily wound an enemy and shock him, making The Stormclaw a terrible weapon. It is unknown where Dal'Ragg may have deposited it before the attack on Avalon and his death.
The story of Stormclaw continues...
Warhunger Clan Orcs: The strongest Grunts were trained in this clan. This clan was also famous for building the finest Catapults. These catapults were used to siege Fal'Dol during the Second Orcish Revolution.
Quote from the Faction List:
Quote:
...Bale died on the assault at Fal'Dol though, and the leadership of the Warhunger Clan was passed to Gar'darr. The warhunger members were not fed and threatned with properly, and the orc Balin was named Chieftain of the Warhungers and departed with his clan to the north of Minirth, past the river, with Dal'ragg's permission.
On the Second Age, the Warhunger Orcs, with the help of the Moonfolk and the Earth Elven generals, gave a huge resistence to over 20.000 Darraths, and although the Darraths prevailed, the enemies were ambushed by Bleakstare Orcs who had not arrived in time. As such, Miria Eimadriel, Balin Warhunger and Fathog Howlcry were saved from days and maybe even months of torture and pain. The Moonfolk died in that battle, not to step on the plains and forests of Eiroth for many long years. And so it was the end of the proud Warhunger Clan.
Wild Orcs: Orcs who belong to no faction. They are actually more numerous than the Orcs of the Northleger. Many communities of Wild Orcs are peaceful to the Army of the North, but some refuse to ally, and attack each other.
In the Second Age, when the Black Orks started to ravage the land, some of these orcs looked for refuge in Avalon.
Two superiors among these; Jarrak and Golob, led some forces and destroyed a darrath camp. When the Exile began, they took the rest of the Warhunger Clan Orcs and their wild orc brethren to Ledorn, where they formed the Wachters Clan.

Races

Elves
Known for their high intellect and power over magic, these mysterious beings live longer than all of Eiroth's inhabitants. There are various races of Elves, but they are rarely found together.

There is a rumor that most races of Elves descendant from a race known as Snow Elves, an immortal race of extraordinary power sent by the creators of the world to safeguard the Life Crystal. This theory is not confirmed, but it is most unlikely to be true, since the characteristics of Elves vary alot.
Types/Races of Elves
Earth Elves: Some decades after the High Men disappeared, the Lesser men allied themselves with this race, known as Earth Elves. They lived in Temoria, situated in the Temorian Mountains, east of Delaria. An alliance was formed between these two races. Earth Elves were shorter and weaker than men in strength, but they could control the Holy magic better than their allies and were also good marksmen. They also used Shamanism, a type of magic that retrieved it's power from the elements themselves, that's how the Earth Elves controlled their earth powers.
This race fought alongside Darnath's Men and the Moonfolk at the Battle of Hope and Memory; they had been enslaved by their enemies, but with the help of their allies, they were freed, and many took up arms to fight. The alliance of the three races eventually prevailed, but there were numerous losses. Erchen Earthshaper went to Delaria and complained about Men's silence during the enslavement of his race. King Wlynn replied that there had been no word from their scouts. Later on, after the Cataclysm, the Earth Elves reported to have been attacked by Men, their allies. The Cataclysm had killed countless people of their race. They would not risk, so they fled.
They eventually formed an alliance with the Bloodgores, Gardor, and Silverglade, forsaking their Kan Dynastian allies and joining the Northleger. They settled east of the Bleakstare Clan, not far from it, and named their new town Ethamiel.

Wood Elves: In the south of Southridge lived a race known as Wood Elves. They lived hidden from Men. They were slightly weaker in strength, but they were taller, and were incredibly swift and agile. Wood Elves also knew Druidism magic. They liked to live in the woods and they respected nature, so many of their early brothers learned the arts of Druidism. There were two types of Wood Elves: Scutarian Elves and Southern Elves.
  • Scutarian Elves: Lived in their capital, Scutaria. They usually had blond hair and green eyes. Like their southern brothers, they were hidden from Men until the Second Age, when Duenos Greenthorn, King of Scutaria, also known as the Oracle or the Wise, realized their time had finally come. The Wood Elves allied with the Men of the Kan Dynasty, and like their allies, they helped the Northleger against the horrific Black Orks. It is also important to tell that Scutaria itself was attacked by the Grosūn, a black ork breed.
  • Southern Elves: In the First Age, they were not called Southern Elves, but they existed and were found mostly outside Scutaria.
Only in the Second Age they began to call themselves Southern Elves. They had dark hair, or hair of a really dark green color. Their eyes were also green, but darker. Their culture was different from their brothers' aswell. Not much is known about the Southern Elves yet.
Dark Elves: One of the strongest races of Elves. Dark Elves lived incredibly long. They were tall, intelligent and agile. Most Dark Elves knew various types of magic, including the mysterious and dangerous Arcane. They were deadly hunters, but like High Men, they were few and began to extinct in the First Age. Dark Elves were known to possess powerful artifacts. One such individual lived near Hornills in Sniuran, but he was old. He promised to give Malagath the Second Volume if he took him to see beautiful places in the world. However, it was not meant to last. After a trip to the continent of Northia, some High Elf hunters accidentaly killed the old Dark Elf. Azhara, who also belonged to Malagath's Darkhand Cult, took the Second Volume. A dark elf in the company of the hunters was given to the Darkhand; Keanu Swiftblade.
The third volume was protected by a spell, which could only be picked up by a Dark Elf. Keanu didn't want to grab the book, so Malagath tried to put a spell on him, but the spell was reflected, due to spirits of the tomb protecting Keanu. The dark elf spirits had sacrificed to protect Keanu. Azhara thought it was Keanu who had killed Malagath. She took the now unprotected Third Volume, and departed with Curan, refusing to trust Keanu. Curan later convinced Azhara that Keanu had done nothing. The Third Volume was of no use to Azhara since it was written in a foreign language, so she ordered Keanu to read it. A spirit, invisible to all but Keanu, advice him to keep the contents of the Third Volume secret. It is unknown what happened to the Third Volume. But after a strife between Men, Orcs and the Darkhand, Curan, Azhara and Keanu were separated, and Keanu was never seen again.
Currently, there are some Dark Elves who reside in the west of Tand in Northridge.

Desert Elves: Race of Elves living north of Allthond. Also known as Talaran, they are one of the tallest races of Elves. Although not necessarily savage, they can eat Orcs, Men and other creatures if needed. The barrens in the north of the island are usually the home for their kin. The Allthond Orcs hate the Desert Elves, although the Elves do not consider the Orcs a true threat, since they prove to be good sport when the time comes. The desert and the barrens are the Talaran's home; their might cannot be matched on the open plains.
There are also rumors of the Centaur allied with the Desert Elves.

High Elves: Similar to Men for their skin color, the High Elves stand between 1.75 - 2.00 tall. Of all Elven races, they are considered the fairest. These elves also possess a stout mind and a strong force of will. They can control every type of magic, including the treacherous Arcane.
High Elves live in the city they call Naria also known as the Grey City, in Enarion, the northern part of Lithirion (or Birtha). They also control various lands around, which are sometimes threatned by the local Murlocs.

Sea Elves: The Sea Elves are dangerous creatures, but not for Murlocs, who can sometimes be found with them. Not much is known about Sea Elves, but they can be considered humanoid. They look like a mix of a crocodile, a serpent, and an elf. Their skin is blue, and their terrifying eyes are a warning to keep distance. They have a tail, but they can move very fast when needed. They won't attack preys unless they're hungry. Although they have a wild attitude, they are much like crocodiles; they seem like stupid killing machines, yet they are intelligent and efficient hunters, and will show a sign of it when the prey least expects.

Races

Zinn
Races of werewolves. These creatures are not necessarily allied, they roam in their territories like all wild creatures, but their different physical form makes them somewhat creepy.

There are some rumors on how these wolves were mutated, but at moment they are not confirmed.
Races/Types of Zinn
Gnolls: They do not differ much from wolves in some ways. They are humanoids with a curved back, standing between 1.40 and 1.60 meters tall. They have enough intelligence to use crossbows, knives, clubs, and other weapons.
The Gnolls are easily found in the Dark Valley. They are carnivore and as such, they will likely attack those who roam their territory. When menaced, they can quickly scatter and hide (although Gnolls' hiding ways are not the best), but they usually fight fiercely to their deaths if trapped in their areas.
Werewolves: Black humanoid wolves, who stand between 1.60 and 2.00 meters tall. They are dangerously hostile. Their combined strength and agility make them one of the most dangerous species of Zinn. Werewolves were known to exist mainly on Southridge.
Satyrs: Sub-specie of Werewolves, taken and tortured by the Devil's powers. They are close allies of the Werewolves, they can often be found together. Satyrs and Werewolves do not vary much, but it is known that Satyrs worship the Devil.
You can easily distinguish Werewolves and Satyrs, since Werewolves are black and Satyrs are purple (or between purple and blue).
Jyllzin: Specie of Zinn, brown skin and cunning. Younger Jyllzin were usually 1.20-1.35 meters tall, but they could grow up to 2.25 meters and weight almost 100 KG. Carnivore like all the other species of Zinn, yet slightly less aggressive and more intelligent.
This specie was abundant on Southridge at the times of the First Age, but they were caught often between battles of Orcs and Men. Until then, Werewolves had feared Jyllzin, but when they realized the Jyllzin were becoming a lesser threat, they quickly turned on their cousins and rudely took over their hideouts and caves.
Ever since then, the Jyllzin have been forced to live on the eastern forests, near the Nectar Pool and Goldener Wald.

Races

Black Orks

Monstrosities, created to serve the Demoķns (Demons). Since the Demoķns could not freely charge into Eiroth, they had to create the Black Orks, in order to provide a destruction tool.

Black Orks should not be confused with the green Orcs. The pronounce is the same, but the green race is written Orc, while this one is named black ork.
Types/Races of Black Orks

Gremlins: The first breed of Black Orks, used in Sorenia against the Kan Dynasty forces of Sedonia. The Gremlins were weak in strength, but they were very agile. They stood around 1.00 - 1.25 meters tall, with a curved back. They had a good vision during the night. In battle, they used knives, clubs or short swords, or even short spears. Their armors were usually light, and sometimes they didn't use armors at all. The wolves of Sorenia were smaller, and as such, Gremlins were average riders. They could also use bows, but it was rare.
They could also be considered mindless, since they only bothered about killing and pillaging, they followed orders to the letter without questioning.
Gremlins can be blinded if they look directly to the sun.

Darraths: Second breed of Black Orks. They already existed in the First Age, but they were rare. Now in the Second Age, they are the most common breed among the Black Orks. They stand around 1.20 - 1.55 meters tall and they have brown or black hair. Darraths are also slightly more intelligent.
It is unknown how the way of breeding Darraths was found permanently, but they were used over their Gremlin cousins because Gremlins were too weak, and the Darraths were strong enough to wear best armors, and as such, they could withstand more attacks and provide a good cannon fodder, which allowed their archers (numerous archers, which was also an advantage) to do the ranged job.
The only apparent disadvantages were that Darraths were not as agile. They could also look directly to the sun without being instantly blinded, but more than that, Darraths would burn if they caught sunlight.

Ungrosūn: Third breed of Black Orks, bred by Evuz the Half-Demon. Evuz somewhat maintains a connection between him and the Ungrosūn breed, to a point that if Evuz died, all the Grosūn would cease to exist. The breeding process of Grosūn is somewhat different, including the addition of blood. Although the process is harder and takes longer, the Grosūn are significantly stronger; they are taller, being able to height up to 2.00 meters tall. They are also much more muscular and stout, being able to carry heavy armor and weapons. In addition, they are also more intelligent than their black ork cousins. Their face is better shaped, and their black hair is usually longer, and they possess a red skin.
Grosūn can also wield various weapons in battle, the most common is a long sword. When they are out of weapons, Grosūn also enjoy feasting on the enemies' flesh and blood. They can also mount the larger worgs of Laerdon. In summary, the Grosūn are, if not the last, one of the toughest breeds of Black Orks ever created.
Mordather the Warlock made good use of this breed against the Northleger, and also against the Wood Elves.
Unlike other black ork breeds, Grosūn can stand the sunlight, despite the fact that they don't like it.

Trolls
Trolls are perhaps the race whose species have a lot of differences. They are usually primitive agile creatures with a long nose.

Trolls' origin is not known, but some believe they were a cousin race of the Orcs. Others say they were creatures that were there ever since the world was created, due to every specie's high knowledge of the wilds.
Types/Races of Trolls
Desert Trolls: A specie of Trolls that enjoys living in plains, deserts, and oases. Their height varies between 1.30 and 2.10 meters tall when adults. They don't drink much water, and they can spend a lot of time without eating. However, they eat meat and they usually hunt down Moboars or Centaurs. If they don't find meat, they can also eat worms and lizards.

Forest Trolls: A savage and dangerous specie of Trolls. As the name suggests, this specie likes to live in the forests, hunting down rabbits, deers, stags, and any lone traveler who doesn't know where he's walking. Forest Trolls are slightly taller than Desert Trolls, but they have the usual feeding and drinking habits.

Hill Trolls: Much like Forest Trolls, they live in the mountains and hills of Northridge. They can sometimes be found in Southridge too.

Ice Trolls: Race of Trolls. Unlike other species of Trolls, Ice Trolls like the cold, and they aren't as savage and wild as their cousins. They are more intelligent, intelligent enough to use magic. There are some Ice Trolls in Laerdon, but they can only be found in the cold mountains. If one travels to Northia, it's not a coincidence to find this strange race of Trolls.

Jungle Trolls: Specie of Trolls. They are much like Ice Trolls; not-so-savage and more intelligent. Jungle Trolls are the number one users of Voodoo Magic. So far, only Goru'gu's tribe is known, they are located somewhere on Elanor, in Lithirion, but it's most likely that more tribes of Jungle Trolls exist.
