Nosgothic Model Competion?

Non-hero Modeling contest Series

The Idea is a series of Contests, based on Crystal Dynamics' "Legacy of Kain" series.
The Legacy of Kain series are probably my favorite games, possibly ever. However they don't get the recognition they should because they are single player action adventure rpgs that are not zelda.

At the beginning of each individual contest I would put up images of the applicable creatures so the contestants have some idea what they're going into.

Obviously a direct copy would not be expected (or in some cases even possible) so artistic license would be encouraged for all but a few models, which would be pointed out (IE, Raziel in any form would have to follow raziel's anatomy. many pieces of fanart don't and get it wrong). If someone had an original idea that fit the theme of hte contest in question, if it was good that woiuld be ok too, but with the options here there is alot ot draw from or work with, so that many original ideas may not be necessary.

No doubling up on the creeps. probably not doubling up on heroes either.

There would be a winner for each section/competition, then there would be a winner for the best model overall afterwards.

In the end all of the models would be put in a big pack and uploaded to hive. They could be put up individually by the authors if they so chose as well, but the packs would have everyone's credits anyways.

I would join this (though I would place last..) if you made some changes like instead of the theme being LoK change it to Darkness or something similar. So everyone can make Shadowy Villain models.

that would be a totally different contest. I'd put up screenies of the types of things that fit the various themes, so everyone (even those who have not played a legacy of kain game) know what to go for.

shadowy villain models to rather cliche and I dont think it would be fun. plus this would be a comp for creeps and units, not heroes.

I won't get in, but I would love to see the progress of this competition!

But I also think that cpeople such as Melchiah and the other villains could be in the competition. Only Raziel, Kain, Ariel and Moebious couldn't be here.

What do you think?

I'm thinking no bosses or plot characters. do that in another contest, where its ALL plot characters

We already have more options then there would likely be contestants. should it just be a portion of this as options? I'm thinking this should be broken into multiple contests.

Uhm, I don't think Janos was the only winged vampire... Perhaps all his kin was wiped out.

You refer to the ancients.

There were in fact a whole race of them yes, but they're all long dead before any of the LOK games take place. Janos is the last one. I was considering including them, just as I was considering including the Razelim. but they don't actually exist in any of the games, so I figured I should just leave them out.

If a mod or whoever approves contests approves this then I need ot ask you guys which category you think we should start with. I'm thinking kainite vampire clans personally, it just seems the most logical place to start.

I may break down the heroes into 2 comps, but all of the heroes would be an option until they've been done.

I will try to make Blood Omen 2 vampire, but i will probably fail...
